I had the exact same problem also, although it specifically says it’s ‘double sided paper’, it isn’t! One side works fine, the other bleeds and feathers like crazy. The paper feels like unbuckle leather to me and the furry feel sets my teeth on edge 😭 The gouache is indeed amazing though.

I had the same problem with the Arteza watercolor sketchbooks. I got the nice binded ones. And it came with two! But the paper was a real disappointment. It was very rough and inconsistent. Like one page would be grainy type but the next would smooth and very crumbly. I much prefer Strathmore and Canson for student grade paper.
Oh my gosh that was terrible..I have the first batch of their watercolour paper..that was a wired texture..I have several sets of paints and it reacted different to each one..I don’t think they have done a thorough check on their papers..put me off them..I do like some of their things though..However it’s heartbreaking to have nearly finished your work to have that happen towards the end..I thought you were brave and professional to carry on ..it would have broke my heart 🤭
And i always thought this was kind of normal, because masking fluid always does that for me, even on thick and pressed watercolor paper (or at least it says watercolor paper, it’s 300g and I actually kind of like it, because it’s not to expensive) that’s why I never use my masking fluid, but maybe I try out other paper. Have you tried the Artezza Professional series (of paper, I mean)? I can never remember which one's the student/midgrade/best, since they name them ridiculously unhelpful things (Expert? Professional? Like, which one of those is supposed to be better than the other?). Essentially, I'm wondering if this wasn't the student grade stuff, because I've got a couple of their bound watercolor sketchbooks, and it's definitely NOT furry. (It's also not the best paper of all time, but for the money, it's okay. And much better than the furry-suede stuff you got here.) :)
OMG! I always tried using masking fluid and what not and the awful peeling always happened to me T_T I wondered if maybe I was using too much or adding too much water to my watercolor, now I realize it has to be the paper! It could be your paper that's bleeding too much. I also suggest watching other people to learn about water control and the types of brushes you need to make details without having it bleed severely. No matter what you do, watercolor will be a little bleedy but even still there are ways of controlling it. Hope this helps
@@silvyghostie_melo yeah, you're probably right...tbh I'm not too serious about it so my materials are not the best...it does take some practice too, I mean, I've been painting for three weeks now (again, not too serious about it, only try in summer) and my latest one isn't looking as bad...but then again I'm bad at coloting inside the lines in any medium, including pencil, pen and eberything in between so yeah, basically I'm not serious about it but I still get frustrated =P
Hiii! I have a question? All the faces I draw are too wide or too long. I have trouble figuring out how high to place the eyes. And how wide too make the nose or the eyes. Do you have any advice?
Been meaning to look this up, according to google: gouache is opaque, but can become more translucent with water added. It dries faster than acrylic, and can be reworked with water after drying, acrylic can't. Basically it's sort of a middle ground between watercolor, and acrylic.

Nicole Montgomery - It looks like a silicone nail tool. I bought a set off Amazon for my nails and thought I would use one for masking fluid as well.
Well now I know why my masking fluid doesn't work for me. The only watercolour paper I've gotten has that furiness you were talking about.

i have this paper and have had no problem with masking fluid
The "texture" is just the paper on its own being ripped thats what happens when you put tape or something on the paper and take it off
My water color paper was the same as that. It absorbs so much of my water color and made it so pale : (
