I have to point out as a person that prides themself on common sense. You don't use the bullets if you don't have much ammo. These people probably used up almost all of the ammo trying to learn how to shoot. I personally would have just had the couple of people that already know how to shoot used the guns.

It takes a fair bit of training to be useful with a fire arm outside of direct/basic self defense. If you need soldiers to actually fight a gun battle, you would be much better served to do what the other user said.

There are multiple shows and movies a year about outbreaks for the last 30+ years, especially now in the days of streaming and the glut of new material constantly, so not really "insane." It is a plot that has been popular and revisited time and time again because it has some thin shred of believability because real outbreaks happen every single year as well, just not to the degree in the public consciousness and real world effect that Covid did in recent years. Maybe a slight coincidence, maybe. In 2019-2020 The Stand, To The Lake, Songbird, V-Wars, Rabid, Only, Medical Police, Alone, The Island, Infection, Before the Fire, Ill: Final Contagium, Gibiate, The Directive, and that's as far as I'm going to list. Unless all of those were also "insane."
I assume in the sequel the main character goes to the North Pole and finds a magic sword which curses him and turns him evil.

I have never seen a nice apocalypse movie be destroyed by shit characters so hard.
Let me list all the weird things I did not like:
- Why can't the main dad decide which woman he wants?
- Why did the 2 teenagers hook up without a rubber? It's 1 week into the apocalypse no way there is a scarcity
- Why did they portray the little boy (Anton) as a complete idiot? He ran out of the car into the cold cuz he didn't get a pill?!
- Why did the rich fat man in the end decide to marry this woman? There was no indication of actual love. She even admitted that its not his child, the child is dead anyway so he does not need to take care of it and she is obv only with him for the money.
AND BY FAR THE WORST PART: why do random characters keep showing up out of nowhere and completely saving the day!?
