Ford does a really good job of putting a lot of power into a relatively small package.

5.2 Voodoo - 527 HP
5.2 SC - 760 HP
3.5 Raptor engine - 450 HP
3.5 Ford GT engine - 650 HP
2.3 Ecoboost Engine - 300 hp

The ford GT weighs almost 1000 pounds lighter compared to the Demon. Put that V6 in a demon and see how that goes. Just because it's a bigger engine with higher HP doesn't mean its gonna go faster compared to a car that is supposed to accelerate out of a corner and get up to high speeds super fast. Plus the demon costs WAY less then that Ford GT.

I definitely wanna say it looked like driver error and possibly the fact that the dodge is essentially on drag tires but they didnt smoke them at all beforehand. Honestly I don't blame him for not absolutely flooring the demon under those circumstances. That thing could get squirrelly real fast. If you notice it didnt even win in the quarter and no doubt it should win there. I also don't think he pushed the ford GT all the way either or his MPH would be higher. I guarentee the reason they didnt push it that hard is because both of those cars are future classics that could pull far more than the sticker price. They're meant to sit in a garage and be driven once a month.

I think it's 450 500 in truck trim before upgrades and design changes take place. I'm a V8 fan but that is one hell of a V6 engine line they have going.

This driver clearly didn't have any of those things available so hes running with about 707 HP, only 60 more than the GT. Dodge Demon also weighs 1500 pounds more. I could keep on going on how this wasnt a fair race

This is a battle of refinement and aerodynamics vs raw power on a land boat. Damn I love the Ford GT, all 3 of them throughout the years. Still wish they went balls to the wall and did a Koenigsegg and put in a V8 with twin supers, also because it builds off the '05 model, but the V6 is so damn refined and the car is so badass that I'm not even mad. Will always be an impossible dream to own all 3 Ford GT's.
I'm surprised the Demon did that well on the top end speed. The Demon has the aerodynamic characteristics of a brick compared to the Ford GT. That was interesting.

It's the internet and everyone is a fanboy. The internet is a polarizing place and people try really hard to be "cool" to people they'll never even meet. I think the Demon sounded amazing and was surprised not only by how quick the GT was but how close the races were. Towards the end of the race you could see the Demon really holding its own, given the aerodynamic advantage of the GT I expected that it would pull ahead on the big end.

I thought maybe they should have run again because of tire slip. However, when researching other Dodge Demons at prepped 1/4 mile drag strips, this specific Demon's 1/4 mile trap speed is only a couple mph off. The GT is just that quick. Impressive. I'm also impressed by the control and launch of the Demon on an unprepped surface. Amazing machines.

It's one thing to put a Demon against a car that we know is just fast but this is more than JUST a super car lol. This is a race car. Everything about the GT is made with speed in mind , the frame is super light, carbon fiber everywhere, rear engine, adjustable speed aerodynamics etc.. I mean I knew who was gonna win before I even started the video lol. You have to appreciate the demon for what it is, it's a muscle car. It's a big ass car, heavy, with a huge engine that goes really fast and is a lot of fun to drive.

GT weighs 3200 and does 150 mph in 14.6 vs 18 for ACR. ACR is about half a second slower in the quarter. Naturally aspirated engines are at a disadvantage to turbos....even at the same power level.

There’s a lot more to cars than just HP and NA vs Fi. Aero dynamics, gearing and type of transmission play a huge roll. I’ve seen cars with 100 less HP beat cars in quarter mile races easily.
Truth be told a fully stock race between them both I’m sure the GT would win, it’s entire power train and aero dynamics have been polished pretty insanely.

Adam Petten the really aren’t. N/a power is more consistent than boost and faster power for power , less weight , no heat soak . A 600whp n/a car will out et and trap a 600whp boosted car giving equal weight .

Yeah but that’s the issue. “Given equal weight” you’ll literally almost never find that. A boosted car will almost always have less weight than an N/A car giving the boosted car an advantage pretty much all the time.
To have two 600 horsepower cars one boosted one not and to both have the same weight that’s really difficult. That’s like getting a slightly smaller engine and putting a tiny turbo that adds just enough weight and just enough power to match the N/A. Not realistic

You can tell they did a crap ton of aerodynamic and wind tunnel work on that Ford, more like F1 chassis philosophy. The way the spoiler kicks up the second he gets into the brakes for increased downforce is pretty wild - then it seems to modulate, I’m assuming the chassis computers know the required downforce to prevent lock-up. Crazy stuff.

The Demon has a trans brake and launch control to come off the line wheel up. The driver of the Demon launched it like an old lady in a Prius and didn’t take advantage of all that tech the Demon has. If he did he’d be about 100’ down the track before the ford left the line.
Bad drivers and roll racing are poor examples of what this car can do. Put a seasoned drag racer in the seat and it’ll be a proper monster.
pineyLt exactly . I felt the same way. Pitiful attempt to make the Ford look better in my opinion. The Dodge has a lot more up its sleeve, than the intelligence of these people indicate. This is not a sore loser statement, it is absolute fact. No tire burnout, I doubt very seriously the traction control is on, maybe it is heavier, but plugging in the numbers, the Dodge laid it down right off the bat with a 9.65 quarter mile backup. let's see that Ford do that. I have not seen any figures that show it.
