Yea, what I loved about the gameboy advance SP is that they put the classic gameboy design. It has the light and games ran good on it. Also the gameboy light is good because it has a backlight, so if you don't need color games and are fine with black & white, gameboy light is fine.

Can't argue there. I got my GBC out of a box recently, tossed in some batteries, and threw in Mario Land. And, guess what? As shocking as it might be, it was still pretty dang fun.

In case anyone was wondering some games do have save files. They had a battery inside the cartridge specifically to save the game. Unfortunately most of the batteries are dead. They aren't that hard to change out you just need the right tools to open the thing and solder in a new battery.

Nobody knew the struggle of playing the gameboy games while in day time.
But what about the struggle of trying to play your Game Boy while in the backseat of a car, at night, while using passing street lights and car headlights to play games to.
I ended up needing glasses because of that. Lol

The DC jack isn’t for recharging, if you have dead batteries, you could plug it in and play it off wall power. It doesn’t work if you don’t have batteries in tho because it closes the circuit
I used to have a Gameboy Color mine was the clear purple one as opposed to yours which is the solid purple one and the port next to the headphone jack was for an AC adaptor so you could use your Gameboy Color plugged into a wall outlet without batteries
I bought my first Game Boy Color a couple weeks ago, it is so hard to see the screen without a very bright direct light source.

Yeah, my Game Boy Advance was my first true handheld after almost a decade of watching other kids frolic with their Game Boys and Game Gears. It got stolen a few years later, but I loved it. I remember sitting with it plugged into a wall to save my batteries, and mom saying it was time to leave the house. That feeling of losing your progress because you had to unplug it from the wall. Good times...
I still have my Pokemon Gold Game Boy Color. It's just too bad I don't live on the surface of the sun, so I can't actually see the screen.
I still have my purple Gameboy Color. However a few of the games are corrupted now due to age. I remember playing Pokémon Red for hours! I did have a bright green Gameboy Color but it was faulty. I remember going with my Dad to the Gameboy shop to get a replacement as well as a couple more new games!

I’m young and wasn’t around when these games released but I love retro gaming it’s so cool and a really fun thing to learn about like the history and stuff Nintendo’s past products are some of my favorites and I mean before before like playing cards and that grabber thing

I was born in the 90s and I did have SNES and N64 console. Never got Nintendo portable gaming device like Gameboy or Gamboy Color until I got GBA in 2001. The only 90s portable gaming device that I had was Sega Game Gear.
Came out in ‘98. I have an Atomic Purple(basically Translucent Purple.) one with a few Game Boy and Game Boy Color Games.

I got a grape Gameboy Color like this one in 2017 with a fake copy of Pokémon Yellow. I lost it several times and this year, I found it again after buying Tetris. Getting Kirby's Dream Land soon (It is a Japanese copy that is cheaper but the gameplay is basically the same as the English version except for the title screen and minor graphical changes.)

I had a Game Boy Color from 1998 to 2002, when I was forced to give it to my cousin about 20 years ago. I would have kept the Game Boy Color by myself right now, along with the Game Boy Advance, and soon-to-be called The Game Boy family line, and I'll be getting the Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, the Game Boy Advance SP, and the Game Boy Play It Loud!

I had a gameboy color, I was around 11 or 12 when I got my yellow gameboy color from my cousin, I HAD FRICKIN POKEMON RED MY FAVORITE, but unfortunately I just HAD to bring to school and then it got stolen, (or I lost it) either way it's been 3 years or so and I still miss it.
2021 and I've just bought my first gameboy color, few years back got a gba sp but got rid last year due to hand cramp cause of form factor, never had a gameboy before these 2 though

found a kiwi gbc at the thrift store, screen lens is scratched to hell and the gbc itself is grungy, but i popped in some AA batteries and the gbc fired right up, and booted up to the Everdrive GB menu and i played some pokemon red (color hack) on it, i want to get the bennvenn freckle shack lcd and a new shell/buttons and a glass lens from retromodding for the gbc to make it better.
Cool, sometime I hope to get a SpongeBob limited edition GBA SP, mine'll be the AGS-101 model, because all SpongeBob ones are AGS-101, and the AGS-101 has a backlit screen, but the AGS-001 does not, and I want the SpongeBob edition because SpongeBob is my childhood, I've watched it ever since I don't know how old I was, and I've also played Atlantis Squarepantis on my DS
