  • It’s almost eclipse time for the second time!
On Monday March 25, 2024 Texas Master Naturalist, Hill Country Chapter hosted a presentation about the 2024 Solar Eclipse by Dr. Kim Arvidsson, Associate Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Schreiner University. In this video Dr. Arvidsson explains why eclipses occur and how rare they are. Dr. Arvidsson has been with Schreiner University for over ten years and is currently the Director of the Schreiner University Loftis Observatory as well as an Associate Professor of Physics and Astronomy. He received his PhD in astrophysics from Iowa State University and he has presented to the Dynamic Learning Institute and is a TexS presenter (Schreiner’s version of TEDx).
The Texas Master Naturalist mission is to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers to provide EDUCATION, OUTREACH, and SERVICE dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities for the State of Texas.
