Insane Volcano That Caused Entire Population's Head To Explode

  • In 62 A.D. Mount Vesuvius erupted after being triggered by a massive Earthquake. The volcanic eruption was so deadly that in seconds an entire city was blanketed in ash. There was no escape, and the bodies of the dead were perfectly preserved like ancient mummies. We're talking about the city of Herculaneum, a Roman getaway that ended up being a final resting place for many, when Mount Vesuvius erupted.

Kari only a handful of bodies were ever actually found in Herculaneum. Most of them were found in the boathouses which would have been on the ancient beach. It is guessed that many people would have fled to the beach hoping for a sea rescue, which of course didn’t come. They took shelter in the boathouses, which also meant that when the waves of hot gas did come from the volcano, they stood no chance and died there.

  • @birdn4t0r7
    @birdn4t0r7 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

there are some inaccuracies in this video:
    - most people in those cities fled when the volcano first started erupting and dumping ash and hot rocks on them. it was those who stayed who died.
    - the flows that buried the cities were not lava, but the much faster-moving pyroclastic flows, which are hot, dense mixtures of gas and volcanic ash that caused the exploding heads. if it were lava, there wouldn't have been any ruins, and the people would have been able to escape because lava moves slowly.
    - of the people who didn't evacuate when vesuvius started erupting, most of them actually survived the initial ashfall. half of these survivors then tried to escape, with many of them being the ones caught in the subsequent pyroclastic flows. those who remained inside escaped the gas flows, only to slowly asphyxiate, trapped inside on top of a layer of gas-emitting volcanic ash.

Didn't the ash cloud hit like, 8 hours before the lava began to flow?
I didn't think lava traveled fast enough to travel down the side of that volcano, and engulf the city completely, all in a matter of seconds.
Edit:Yeah, after a brief check, I was right. Only 1 person on Herculinium wasn't killed from the ash cloud. He wasn't even killed by the lava. Instead, he was likely killed by the heat wave temps that preceded the
    lava. Temps of 980*+
Not sure where this idea of a whole city having their heads boiled to the point of exploding, came from.

@@someoneyoullnevermeetinrea4949 They are saying that the number of people that have died from COVID directly, isn't necessarily as high as is being reported. The individual is saying that it is sad, but it isn't directly killing as many people as the media and others are trying to make it sound like. Hospitals will report a death as being caused by COVID, if the deceased tests positive for COVID, even if they weren'T having any symptoms of it. In doing so, the hospitals get more funding.
For example, a month or two ago, a pregnant woman died from some health issues which where further exacerbated by having COVID-19. She had been 5 months or so along. The doctors couldn't save the baby, though they did deliver him, I believe, because he was too premature. I'm not sure if they even tested the baby for Corona virus. But if they did, it disnt really matter, as they decided that that infant was declared a victim of COVID, and he was listed as a so, showing up as one of the many, many deaths of COVID, even though he may not have even been positive himself.

You do understand how hot the ash was? Several thousand times the heat needed to bake bread. Lava is melted rock so you can’t last long if you are suddenly engulfed in searing heat that can melt rock.

Lava didn’t flow through the streets, pyroclastic flows of superheated toxic gas and dust blanketed Pompeii and buried the city under metres of volcanic dust. The people of Herculaneum were killed by a pyroclastic surge, a wave of intense heat that boiled their brains and cracked their bones, basically an instant death. People in Pompeii most likely choked to death on the oppressive dust and gas.

The people were not killed by lava as the video suggests, but by the pyroclastic flow, which is basically a rapid flow of steaming hot gases and ash.

When the ashes are blown high enough they can land all over the world.
From time to time, we get Saharan sand (mainly dust) raining out of the sky in Holland.

During that time in pompeii according to the study the people of the city thought that it is a mountain. Pompeii citizens died be cause of the lava flows while herculaneum died because of the. Pompeii were preserved and buried while in herculaneum were yeah preserved but died because of the smoke
