Hi Del & Penny, hope all is well. Excellent job mate , that's a very cool looking ride. I have always had a soft spot for the Rocket 3, looking forward to your ride out. Wishing Penny and you a very Happy New year and all the best for 2025, take care and stay safe. Cheers
Hey mate, good to hear from you... I hope you're managing to keep cool over there, it's a balmy 5C here today, a bit damp, but no salt or frost yet!... but tomorrow is Amber weather warnings to batten down the hatches for a storm... but I'm confident as I don't think it'll blow the Rocket away just yet! Thank you for your kind support this year, wishing you a Very Happy 2025, D&Px
What a difference using the “polisher” on the bolt/screw heads make! I have to say it, “Great job on the bike & taking us, … those who watch, through the steps you took” 👍😎. That Rocket looks like a big black beast! Stay safe and enjoy the new year 🤩👍😎😇
Thanks mate, it's great when using stainless fasteners as you can polish them to a mirror shine with no fear of breaking through the plating and best of all, they don't corrode in place... Thanks for watching the videos, appreciate your support!
Shes looking lovely bruv, what a beast. I hope you had an excellent xmas. Ive had shingles all over xmas, last year i had covid. Still, there's always next year. Me and the family wish you both a belated merry xmas and a great year ahead. Take care both of you and be well.
So sorry to hear that Ray, what a bummer at this time of year, i hope you haven't been too badly effected by it mate.. and we're both wishing you well soon.. Christmas was ok, only a couple of days off but then that's more then enough aye, just want to get back to normal now. Take care mate, get well soon, and wishing you all a happy new year. D&Px
From Rags To Riches !! Great Job Del , you knocked this one out of the park !! Better than New ,a custom look that others will envy !!! You could pull that triumph up beside one that has been pampered !! And the pampered bike owner would beg you to help him duplicate the look ! Great Job You are amazing
Thank you Gary for such kind comments, im really happy with how it looks now, and just want to get out and enjoy riding it, since getting the tuning work done i've not had time to enjoy it yet... maybe Friday if the weather clears up after tomorrows forecast storm...Fingers crossed. Thank you for your kind support and have a Happy New Year.. D&Px
As usual Del, a top quality job & the bike looks awesome. One final tiny suggestion would be to fit smoked front indicator lens. I have recently fitted them on the rear of my lowrider and it finishes off the look I was going for. But a personal thing. Well done👍
Hi mate, you're right, a personal thing, and personally I think the bike needs some highlights, it would be easy to black everything out, including the lights, and it starts to look like a Rat bike, specially when it gets dirty... but I'm good with it for now, who knows what I may decide to do in the future, there's always room for more upgrades aye!
Great Job, i rode a Harley Nightster in black, the new ones come in grey or black, it was a great bike, but not as big or as comfortable as the rocket, i think this is next level styling, ape hangers maybe 🤔 a nice twisted steel and wider sissy bar/back rest 🙄😂 cant help myself 🤦🏻♂️
Go for it mate, custom styling is all about personal expression so if you think it looks good, it looks good... too many people style their bikes according to what fits in with others's approval... that's why on another side, I love Rat bikes because they generally fit in with nobody's approval!
Great job! Whilst not a general fan of black motorcycles (ya just gotta look into my garage); I think that that Rocket looks great. Too muck black- yes Harley, I’m pointing at you- looks mournful. I think you nailed it with the juxtaposition of the brightly polished mounting hardware against all the darker surroundings. And some of the rest of the smaller bits. Ready, steady, go and ride into the new year with a newly restored Rocket. So much better with the toned-downed style. Happy New Year to both of you, Günter/Nürnberg
Looks great well turned out. Weather has been crap I have been wanting to do my brakes and a small electrical fault repair on the old bandit but it's rained since 12th December here in Yorkshire and I have to do all my mechanics on the street. Look forward to seeing the Yamaha project happy new year to you all
Thanks Ewan👍. Ive been there in the past mate.. having to fix my bike outside the house under a street light for work the next day.. have you seen these, great for your situation, maybe not secure.. but dry and cosy for working and storing your bike..!! www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-cis788-motorcycle-shelter-shed-m/
Another great project. I have been watching your videos for a few years now, and I want you to know how much you have inspired me to take care of my own basic maintenance. Up until this year, I had never removed a wheel, done my own brakes, nor rebuilt my own forks. I have done all those jobs and more with confidence after having learned so much from you. Thank you, and Happy New Year from sunny Southern California.
My word, thank you so much for such kind words of support and for giving us the credit for your inspiration, but remember the skills were in your hands, we just lit a fire under your confidence and helped you make a start... Knowledge of any mechanical job is just being familiar with the anatomy of the parts and some confidence with hand tools, the rest is all you! It's wonderful to hear that you're underway with your own maintenance now, keep it going as none of us can afford garage bills these days... the way to be in an ever more dependent world, don't you think? Take care and stay safe, Happy New Year!
Looking forward to seeing this beast out in the sun and for a ride-along! Beautiful work all around....what a massively good change! Happy new year to you both!
Thank you so much Allen, I love the look ofthe bike now too.. and im looking forward to getting it out for a blast in the sunshine.. and while we don;t have anything like the winter weather you do, it's still pretty nasty outside at the moment, but the forecast is good for Friday, so fingers crossed.. Happy New Year too and stay warm and safe.. D&Pxx
Thanks mate👍, cans are fine, you just need to know how to use them , and have plenty of attention to prep because that's 90% of the result... you can use the finest pro paint gun, and a heated booth.. but if the prep is crap, so will the job be..! Thanks for your kind support mate, it;s really appreciated.
Well, it finally happened... Black Mamba speed met its match today! That bracket was quicker than a mongoose! Never mind that it ended up on the bike... That bracket is the new, undisputed Speed Champ!
Nice one Del 👍 Love the opening statement 👍 What a transformation, bike looks absolutely stunning mate, cracking job 👍 Keep up the brilliant work Del 'n' Pen 👍
Thanks paul, 👍glad you approve, i really like the look now, just the right amount of brightwork, and really clean and simple. . Happy new year mate, and thank you for your support.
Nice finish to the bike Del, Hope you had a great Christmas, and hope 2025 is as good to you as this year, look forward to some more great projects to watch next year, and may be, just may be, able to shake you hand one day.
Thank you so much for those kind words David, we really appreciate your kind support, and it would indeed be good to meet one day...Happy new year mate, stay safe and keep in touch. D&Px
"Love is felt the most when it's leaving" I'm only here for the quotes 😉 Sad to see this project leave. I thought we were going to get a ceramic coating swansong episode.
Hi buddy, finished as far only as the work it needs to have done, everyone's closed this time of year and am still praying for some decent weather for a ride on Friday... but we will get back to see Barney for a coating finale once he's back in the New Year.
I love what you do and learn a lot for my own project which is a Yamaha SR 125 which I am going to make into a bobber , but the only problem I have is I don't like Pot Noodle, can I use other forms of support ? 😄
Hi Malcolm, I see your dilemma and I totally understand!... you could try Super Noodles and in a pinch, maybe Pot Rice (a bit exotic!), but if all else fails, a Cup A Soup and a small Melton Mowbray pork pie is a perfect rescue! Good luck with your project and have fun...

Looking forward to the ride video, the ride after the dyno was excellent viewing 👍 All the very best to both of you for the new year. Aside from the very informative content you come across as a good person. Thank you.
Thank you Phill, i really appreciate your kind support, we do our best to make good honest content in good faith, TH-cam isn't what it once was, so much hate and loathing now days, but we're still here, indetered, and happy to be making content that is so well appreciated and valued.. Yes indeed Herbie, we can't keep them all (unless you're Jay Leno!), so one has to go for the next... but maybe this one can stay, at least for a little while so I can have some fun on it!
Perfect finishing touch for this project. Love Penny's special effects in this video. 😆 Thank you both for all the great content this past year and a happy and healthy new year to you. ❤👍👍

Hi Penny and Del - you did a great job on the Rocket and everything looks amazing! hope you have good weather for your ride! Take care, dear friends... be well, ride safe and have a very happy new year!
It's looking good weather wise, so fingers crossed, should be able to film it this weekend... thank you for your kind support as ever, Happy New Year to you too! D&Px
Nice series of vids, thanks for posting it. I`ve often wondered what you do with all your projects, i`m assuming you run them for a while, then sell them on, is that right, or do you have a large collection of bikes now?.

Love the black look, subtle and classy. A great job Del and very enjoyable to watch the progress of the beast! Happy New Year to you both and I look forward to more excellent videos in the New Year! All the best - J
Haha. Just had a funny thought Del . Waiting for Delboys Garage is like when we were kids looking forward to something on TV. Like, Blue Peter, or Top of the Pops. Keep the videos coming for 2025 please mate.
Wow thank you so much for that kind sentiment... I know what you mean, and what an honour to be held in such high regard... wishing you a very Happy New Year mate.
Great work Del you’ve made an awesome job as always.. look forward to seeing the ride vid.. happy new year to you and penny dude have a great 2025 😊🎉 Pete
Hi Pete, thank you so much for your kind words, happy with the outcome... and looking forward to some sunny weather this weekend, fingers crossed we can do some riding! Happy New Year to you too, D&Px
When putting the fly screen back on, I noticed you clamped the metal brackets directly to the metal fork legs with no protective material (rubber perhaps) between them to safeguard your professional paint job. Are you not worried that this may result in scratches down the road?
If you watched the previous video where i painted them... you may have noticed, when i numbered them on the inside.. that there is a 3mm thick rubber lining inside each of the halves... these are factory clamps, and designed to fit on the forks, the rubber keeps them from moving, damps vibration, and also protects the fork legs..!
@Moonfleet41 my old eyes missed that, but thanks very much for replying. I'm a Brit living in the USA and very much enjoy watching your videos, which in these days of so much fluff, are a pleasure to watch as they instruct clearly and precisely on very useful motorcycle maintenance. Kudos to your camera operator too which adds to the professional overall appearance of the channel. 👍
@@MrGordonchase Thank you for your kind words of support, I guess it's inevitable that some skip forward in videos, there's a mind numbing amount of content being uploaded these days and there's always the next videos down the side of the screen tempting us to skip forwards and watch more! Interesting to here you're living in the States, was that a life move or work? Something we considered many years ago, but it just never happened!
@Moonfleet41 Actually I don't skip through your videos as their tends to be nothing superfluous in them that requires skipping. It's just my loss of retention at 70 such that I don't recall seeing it even though I'm sure I must have done if it was in your published recording. As for the move to the USA this was a peculiar twist of fate post 9/11 when the US immigration authorities treated every visitor as a possible terrorist, even us Brits with security clearances. I won't bore you with the rather long and peculiar story, but let's just say the authorities coerced me into marrying a USA citizen if I wanted to keep visiting the USA. A bizarre twist considering they frown upon such a practice in normal times, but post 9/11 normal went right out the window as far as immigration was concerned, and much else besides. All in all it worked out ok. The bang for the buck is greater here than in the UK so the standard of living is higher. What costs a £ in the UK costs a dollar here so about 25% cheaper. My 2024 Goldwing bagger (non tour) cost me $21k new in March and would have been about £24k in the UK, so you get the picture. I filled up with Petrol yesterday at about £0.57/lt. These big differences are due to the much lower level of tax on goods and services. Of course on the other end you pay up for health care which costs about £7000 a year for the wife and me providing we don't get sick. Swings and roundabouts. Looking forward to your next video. Happy new year
mmmmm Shiny nuts.... lol Have a great new years eve you two. I'll raise a glass of spirits to you both tonight and be thinking of fallen friends as well. fingers crossed my body and head get a little clearer and I can get onto my own 4x project bikes in the new year. Be safe and may Odin, Tyr and Freyja guide you ways.
Thank you kindly Sir, am glad you approve, a little bit of shiny doesn't hurt with the darkness!... Have a wonderful New Year's Eve and wishing you a safe and peaceful 2025, D&Px
Hi Richard, good to hear from you, not sure what you mean by despite the paintwork, but it's been a great fun project to restore this big ol' ship to it's former glory! Happy New Year and stay safe.
@Moonfleet41 Ah sorry about that my kids often say I send cryptic messages 😅 I was just picking up on what you said by saying the Project involved a few videos on Paintwork - all good. Happy New Year 👍
Thanks mate, I get your point, subtle isn't exactly a word that applies to the Rocket lol The sanding strips are a product called Ceranet, they're a ceramic coated nylon that's pretty much like a net you can see through and doesn't collect dust or clog... they're very much a pro-body shop product, of course anything can be bought, but not in domestic quantities!
Hi James, thank you so much for your kind words of support... it's been a challenging year so we're looking forward to a better one for 2025... take care and stay safe, D&Px
Happy new year too Gerry... i don't know why Black is so popular, but it's still by far the most prevalent colour, same as Range Rovers... always look better in black..!
@@Moonfleet41 I look at the Canadian winter like a mountain. October to Dec31st you are going uphill to reach the summit. Then on Jan 1st you start the descent into Spring and in mid April the bike comes out of storage.
@@jamesweber4938 On a less cold and severe level, it's very much the same here in Blighty... Jan/Feb cold wet months, then by March we're back out to play!

Happy new year
mmmmm Shiny nuts.... lol
Have a great new years eve you two.
Just right Del, an interesting Project despite the paintwork - it's still good to see it be done and learn 👍
Happy New Year 👍
Looks lovely Del. Hope Triumph are watching, this is how you make a Del boy edition Dark model!!
Thank you for such kind words Nick, we really appreciate that, and glad you approve.
Happy New Years to you and Penny. Thank you for another excellent year of motorcycle content. Cheers.
Happy new year to you too Doug, and thank you for your kind wishes... Lets hope next year is better than this one has been..!
Like the more subtle look. If that's possible with that monster.
Q. What are the sanding sheets you use? Easy to buy?
Thanks mate, I get your point, subtle isn't exactly a word that applies to the Rocket lol The sanding strips are a product called Ceranet, they're a ceramic coated nylon that's pretty much like a net you can see through and doesn't collect dust or clog... they're very much a pro-body shop product, of course anything can be bought, but not in domestic quantities!
Nice new year.
Think the brackets are a bit shiny, but they will dull down some.
Bike sure looks nice and just love the way you do things , i strife to do them same , you are definitely one of the pros on yhe tube L&R
Hi James, thank you so much for your kind words of support... it's been a challenging year so we're looking forward to a better one for 2025... take care and stay safe, D&Px
The Motorcycle for Arnold Schwarzenegger or Mel Gibson movies. Beautiful finish.
Thanks mate, couldn't put it better myself... Happy New Year!
@@Moonfleet41 All the best
Excellent work as always Del. Happy New year to you 🎉.
That has to be the finest username I've read today!! Happy New Year too mate.
why do biker's like black, impressive, have a good New Year you and Penny and thanks for 2024 and all the work you do😍
Happy new year too Gerry... i don't know why Black is so popular, but it's still by far the most prevalent colour, same as Range Rovers... always look better in black..!
Good job and it did not end up looking like a Harley, even better...
Looks so much better without all that bling, Del.
Thank you Ian, I agree mate!
Roll on summer 🙂
Damn right. !
Happy New Year to you both from NZ, Another great job and video.
I was beginning to wonder if you should be mentioned in the new years honours list for services to pot noodles!
Happy new year too, you'll see 2025 before we do, so enjoy the celebrations and stay safe for a fresh new year.
Top job m8 much more sleeker meaner and modern looking. Happy new year to you and Penny
Thanks John, am glad you approve, we like the look too! Happy New year to you too!
I swear you do the bits of humour for me..... And you of course.... LOVE IT...
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it... hope your content is going well and you're still enjoying making videos... remember to have fun with it mate and do it for you!
@@Moonfleet41 It is thank you most kindly. I just put a short End of Year video up just now... It could be better but each time I learn more and think I am getting better =-) And I am having fun with it and cant wait to se what I get to ride next year... And I agree if you do it for anyone else its not fun... Thats what I tell all my students as well when they call me for lessons. If your riding for anyone else and not for you... Dont do it!
Much better indeed! Happy new year, P&D!
Same to you mate... thank you for your long term support.
What about a, How to Buy, How to Sell, guide.
I see you live healthily, ALL those pot noodles? Hahaha
Cant go wrong with black on black.
Looks Great!!
Great.................. very beautiful like that. 😉
Thank you so much 😀

I watch these instead of therapy 😁
Awesome job guys, looking forward to seeing the Rocket on the road.
Yeah, works relaxing to watch someone working so organized and skilled. 😊
That's good to hear and very kind of you to say, hopefully it'll be sunny this weekend so we can get out for a ride!
Great job, yet again. I would love to take that beast for a spin.
Thanks mate, happy with the outcome, hoping for some bright weather this weekend!

Me too Shaun, can't wait.
Maybe just a little jealous, my dream bike. Fab job well done.
Thank you so much Paul, it was mine for a long time too, amazing to have one... looking forward to getting out for a ride!
Pure quality 👌
Ended up being a very cool bike, great job on saving it.
Thanks John, it wasn't difficult to save, thanks to the low mileage and pedigree, it was just a cosmetic make over!
You should make a video of a road test on this bike.
@@Moonfleet41 That's the way the factory should have equipped it, cheap chrome plated plastic parts just diminish the bike.
@@johnjubie7144 I will be doing exactly that, just as soon as i get a bright dry day.. not much fun of interetsing on a wet foggy day aye.lol!
Other good job mate , happy new year 👍
Happy New Year to you too mate!

Del, it looks absolutely amazing, I prefer the mark 1 rocket to the mark 2, enjoy riding the bad boy, it's a sexy brut of a bike
Thanks Dave, am glad you approve mate, I can't remember how long I've wanted one and in some ways, can't quite believe I managed to find such a low mileage one for such a good deal... looking forward to getting out for a ride on Friday, that is if we don't all get blown away by the storm tomorrow!
Top job.
Happy New Year.
