Fun fact: The German TH-cam Channel „Pietsmiet“ asked the developers if they could make a character based on them and the developers made the Streamer. That is why the character has a green controller, because that’s the Pietsmiet logo.
Oh good to know! I knew a lot of items and characters were based on early adopter streamers, but didn't know the specific one there. Thanks for the info!
This is among the best “how to” gaming content I’ve ever come across on TH-cam. I’ve found all of his Brotato class guides to be clear, articulate, and extremely helpful. That said, I couldn’t make this work with the SMG or slingshot. Against the advice at the beginning of the video, I went with an engineering build and cleared level 5 on my first attempt. Regardless, great stuff. Thank you for posting.
well executed! i think the streamer flavor comes from when he sits still in front of his pc, he generates passive income, and when he is in the real world, he moves fast and needs to be high effective to go back asap at sitting still in front of his pc. makes a lot of sense to me! 😅
Thanks very much! Sure, that makes sense - though I personally suspect the real reason it's the "streamer" is so every popular streamer would make a video titled "they made me in a video game!" Which I think worked so well played, Brotato devs
I disagree about the "flavor" of the character. I think this is one of the smartest class designs I've seen in any game. The idea that a streamer is sitting in front of their PC generating money, but as the stream scales and bloats, it becomes harder for them to move away from it (speed). If they do move in any other direction, the impact is jarring (damage and attack speed). Their income from traditional means is meager (material drops). The hardware and home/room they invest in creates security (armor from structures). When I first saw the character, just the stats alone made me chuckle at all these subtle flavors... not many stat boxes in games can do that, AND the streamer isn't alone in this. The Old, Crazy and Knight all have great flavor, too. Strong design by the devs.
Thank you for just getting into the video without some annoying intro and not waffling on about something not relevant to the video. This is my second video of yours. Have a sub!
2 big correction regarding landmines and pocket factory. Structures regarding the armor is based on item not actual structures on the field. So the landmines always gives 2 armor whatever there is 0 or 10 mines on the field, and pocket factory sadly never gives armor. Wiki from the character page: "With Landmines the +2 armor is from the item itself, not for each mine on the field. "
@@Cephalopocalypse yea quite sure I tested it and the pocket few days ago, I didn't blindly trust wiki ^^, and we can see at 10:03 you gain the 2 armor, don't think you paused during the game so can't see there that it doesn't change
I just beat the game with this character and I now have every achievement. I had to use the slingshot because I am not as skilled as you. Thanks for your videos!
Honestly after failing ten times with SMGs and one-shotting with Slingshots, I'd just say slingshots are the goat on this one imho. Thanks for the guide though.
I didn't have any trouble with one arm, it was streamer and jack that caused me the most issues. after you mentioned the structure bonus I just went full engineer and it was almost no problem.
Here's some tips and issues you may have: yes it's good to stand still, but dying is worse than not getting an extra 3 gems you should be safe from waves 1-3 on Waves 1-2. Stand still until 3 seconds left unless a tree is seen. Then, you may want to move early. If you find the bag that gives you 15+ material per crate, GRAB IT Focus Range damage your damage % will be impossible to keep up late-game Everytime yo usee current or another things similar to it grab it plus anything that gives you bonuses for standing still On Wave 6 of difficulty 5, focus on the eggs so you can stand still for longer periods of time. Before elites or swarms use your gems or you'll most likely die
I think maybe what he is missing here about the flavour is that streamers are sitting on their arses quite a lot and not literally moving around, they sit around static and generate income.
Final character to beat, was soo difficult to get past the first 9 waves but after that it got very easy, tried multiple different builds but eventually won with this one. Got the chain gun which helped a lot
After I understood how this character works, I think it's one of the easiest ones and is just a pure power fantasy - perhaps I got lucky by getting 5 baby geckos and other stuff, but my number one hardest one remains the Saver, I just despite how horrible that one feels.
Streamer is pretty easy to understand. Every class in the game has to prioritize economy early on or you have no chance in hell, for most classes that means harvesting and luck, but for streamer wave clear IS their economy because it allows them to stand still for longer. Then like every other class in the midgame you need defense which includes speed otherwise you'll get overwhelmed. Of course all of this is subject to shop RNG not shafting you.
When a streamer is in the middle of a game, they'll stop to acknowledge a donation or read the donation message. I figured that was the reasoning for The Streamer's stop moving and collect money mechanic.
Well, you seemed to have an easier time in danger 5 than I did in danger 2 😅I hate this character, he's one of the dozen reasons or so of why I'm not going for a full danger 5 clear.
This is imo the hardest character, so it can definitely be frustrating! Honestly before I switched to the smg build I was having a lot of trouble getting it consistent at all
@@Cephalopocalypse I happened to choose Streamer for my second ever Danger 5 clear last night. My biggest takeaway was that it's crucial to get your economy going as early as possible. For me, this meant starting with an SMG, and abstaining from buying anything from the shop until after Wave 2. A single SMG is actually strong enough to get you through the first two waves while remaining completely still (other than grabbing materials at the very end of the wave)
I feel like the SMG route relies on huge luck a the start of the run. I've just tried it now and already can't clear waves while standing still, even if I spend all my money, by wave 3 or 4...
I was desperately rerolling for speed late game and so i spent about 4000 materials to get 5 luck. I also casually entered wave 20 with 2500 materials and pretty much instantly lost.
I just beat Danger 5 on Streamer. It was pretty miserable. My winning build had 5 trees, 3 bags, good amount of harvesting(~200 by wave 20). I got 2 sausages and 1 snake pretty early too. My weapons were 5 lightning shivs and 1 thunder sword. Just got lucky with what items appeared in the store. Not sure I could win again. I've got 7 classes left, of which 2 might be difficult.
My least favorite character. Just wasn't fun for me and It felt like a chore trying to complete D5. Only won after I stopped being so greedy. I hung around 400-500 materials at MAX. While before I was trying to maximize and stay above 825 or whatever that max value is for the 25 mats every second. Your videos always help me and show me other ways to do things. I did it with wrenches funny enough because I don't really like engineer builds at all. Good RNG didn't hurt haha.
I'll become nuts with that one. I've tried several builds for hours. As the guide, with slingshots, with structures, with shotguns... I always die. It seems that my biggest problem with that one is the damages I take, even if I choose to pick a lot of steal life or regen, armor, even dodge. And if I boost my damages high as I can, I don't have enough HP or defense to survive.
Tried SMG and slingshot but somehow I cleared this with turrets and harvesting. Ended up with high speed, armour from 12 structures and high regen from Fairy and regen potion. With a few boxing gloves, just running like a rat in circles, visiting my medical turret from time to time. barely killing anything.
I struggeld real hard with gun builds, but with an engeeniering build i got it first try, but i got really lucky to. I got lots of structures, pocket factory and the elemental book. 90 Armor in the End anr the last 5 waves i got 3000-4000k without moving and i killed 2 of the 3 elites.
39:17 I had a little idea about why its called streamer when he stops moving, hes streaming and making money off of it, and then when he moves it probably more difficult to shoot guns, move, and stream at the same time so he stops and makes zero income
I tried to make this work about 20 times or so. No luck. Didn't get a god roll like the one here, but a couple good ones. It's just not enough to stop getting overrun and then I can't use the passive income at all. Tried slingshots and went the distance on my first try, even though that roll was also far from ideal. Obviously SMGs can work, but it seems so much harder than slings.
Streamer with padding, piggy bank, a potato launcher and spending 0 money sounds like crazy damages scaling. With 3 paddings at +25/sec, its 3hp /4 sec so +9damages / sec with 6 launcher (1/2 ×3 ×6). So more than +2/sec
I think you massively underestimate minigun. While it does have lower base DPS, it has a bunch of soft stats that make it way better: mainly, the piercing. It may only scale a bit more than twice as hard off flat damage, but if you are using the piercing, it applies that doubled scaling to an extra enemy, which can easily mean it's getting more like 300% more damage scaling off flat damage. It also, in the early game, does double the DPS of SMG's, once you factor in that it's piercing and the SMG's aren't. That, and it's crit mod is higher. But mostly, it's that the minigun pierces and SMG's don't.
All good points! I think I forgot it pierces when reviewing it. I have found that your single-target dps takes a hit at certain breakpoints when switching smg to minigun, but I'd have to do a lot more math to figure out when those are based on numbers rather than vibes :P
Are the Alien eyes not like the Retromation's Hoodie, where it's uneffected by the cap? I'm pretty sure that's how all Items work with caps but not 100%
I only have 2 left, Streamer and Glutton. This will be helpful as I always get to around wave 11/12 and the -26+ speed gets me killed. For Glutton I'm trying to do it without using Pruners, I've had moderate success with screwdriver and even less success with shredder, is it even possible with either of those weapons?
Awesome, glad the video helps! Shredder should be possible, I think. Screwdriver is a very difficult weapon to use, though, so while i think that's *possible* to win with I'd save it for a challenge run or something like that. I talk a little more about the issues with the weapon in my upcoming weapon tier list so keep an eye out for that :)
@@Cephalopocalypse I won with Streamer last night (full SMGs) following your video as a rough guide. This morning I won with Glutton (all screwdrivers after failing 4 or 5 shredder attempts in a row). I had always gotten further with screwdrivers on Glutton then shredder so you may want to give it a try. Grabbing consumables stacks explosion damage, I started off by boosting my health since Glutton has a low life-pool at the start. Then I focused on attack speed, melee damage, armor (because I took stone skin), luck, speed, and dodge. I think I got lucky because I grabbed x2 Rip and Tear which did wonders for wave clear. I also took a couple turrets that showed up in the shop, grabbed improved tools, explosive bullet, panda, lucky cat x2, plastic explosives, landmines, tractor, shackles when I had 23 speed, and your random assortment of t1 and t2 items.. Had 4 red screwdrivers, a purple, and a blue at the end. a bit of range felt good, allowed me to stand back. I'm at all D5 cleared now, happy to be done!
I can't believe you didn't buy the Wisdom at 29:41. Was that a mistake, or you don't think it's good even on the streamer? It seems like it's perfect for the streamer, since you're pretty OP for the first 15-20 seconds of a wave, anyway.
I usually avoid wisdom, because it contributes to falling behind on clearing enemies and getting overwhelmed. You're right it's more interesting for Streamer, though, since you get weaker as the wave goes and that can help counteract that effect. Definitely worth trying!
It doesn't, buying that was a mistake! Really easy to forget you have torture. And I generally don't like wisdom, though it's a little better on streamer - it makes killing elites quickly more difficult, which is usually the goal. The start of the wave you need all the burst damage you can get so you don't get on the back foot.
@@Cephalopocalypse thanks very much for the answer I was also wondering, with the current lunar event going on and the extra 10% speed, the mines, the 50% chance to instantly pick up mats and the dragon elite that spawns, isnt it much easier to complete D5 runs? Yeah I just can't win with SMGs. Not sure how you make it look doable, but I've tried for months now to beat it with streamer on D5. You have great content .... But I just can't win. Maybe another build that's doable?
@@فيصلالحربي-س9ق1ي There is always risk/reward in these choices. The 15 max hp is not insignificant after all. 4hp per second is decent, but it does need a good player to navigate the levels to be enough.
Streamer flavour. You stop playing the game and interact with chat and make more money. When you focus on the game you turn it up but nobody cares about the good gameplay.
I just cant get the damage stats i need early on, even with a lucky run and investing all money into guns and damage buffing items, it becomes hard to stand still and deal damage after wave 5 ish. I really dont know what to do, no amount of damage is enough. Past a certain point i have to run around so much that i cant make any money
This is imo the hardest class and took me several tries - One thing is when you *do* get forced to move, try to find a spot where you will be able to tick a few times without having to move again, rather than just moving a little bit. Also I get pretty greedy with the starting money in this guide, you could try starting waves at 100 or 200
We had Torture in this build, so *all* other sources of healing are disabled, including regen, lifesteal, consumables, even stuff like Adrenaline and Medical Turret.

Yeah I just can't win with SMGs. Not sure how you make it look doable, but I've tried for months now to beat it with streamer on D5. You have great content .... But I just can't win. Maybe another build that's doable?
torture and healing turret are working together ?
They don't, but the streamer gets bonus armor from constructs so it's basically buying 2 armor
Wouldn't the medical turret not work with the torture?
Torture is horrible with this character you need life steal as main health regain
@@فيصلالحربي-س9ق1ي There is always risk/reward in these choices. The 15 max hp is not insignificant after all. 4hp per second is decent, but it does need a good player to navigate the levels to be enough.
39:11 sitting in chair = not moving. But I suppose that’s no different from any office job. Maybe it’s a not touching grass dig
Streamer flavour. You stop playing the game and interact with chat and make more money. When you focus on the game you turn it up but nobody cares about the good gameplay.
Mother elite blows man , even more with streamer
Definitely the hardest for a lot of builds!
Its cause streamers are constantly standing still to read chat.
Also I get pretty greedy with the starting money in this guide, you could try starting waves at 100 or 200
Wow I didnt think stream would go well with gun build
Yeah all the advice I see says go slingshots or turrets, but honestly I find this a little easier and much more fun
yeah for people who have a tiny bit of luck this might work.....I won't get anything useful....
at 43:29 SMG(IV) -6100dmg --- MiniGun(IV) 10 000+dmg
44:59 smg , 9600 ---- minigun 14500 , so yeah worth
Good looking out, always important to look at the numbers!
it's the , and . frame by frame skipping that did most of the job, you were going over the items pretty quick haha@@Cephalopocalypse
Love when people on youtube make mistakes, makes me realise theyre only human, FYI, medical turret was a waste of money because of torturer :)
For sure! Torture is very easy to forget
@@Cephalopocalypse oh yeah! Absolutely, love the videos by the way!
Nope, it still grants 2 armor so not a mistake.
@@kobarsos82 i mean his response says it was a mistake regardless of armor it wasnt intentional
Im not good at thos game at all. Pickle Pete is much better for me.
Why did you say you cant use the life regen on the tomato upgrate. You can use hp regen just not lifesteal
We had Torture in this build, so *all* other sources of healing are disabled, including regen, lifesteal, consumables, even stuff like Adrenaline and Medical Turret.
Did it with pruner hahahah
Nice! That's extremely difficult.
Why do you even care about speed while you need to stand still?
You still need to move when a bunch of projectiles come at you...
Bro you are fake😂😂😂😂
bro you are incoherent
@@Cephalopocalypse .
I skipped to 2:36 and you've not even begun the round. Guess I'll leave.
Damn that must have been really hard on you, hope you feel better soon!
