I love the 8K TVs. But there's no 8K movie playing on this TV. Just videos. The best thing is to wait for the 8K movies to start showing up, then grab a great 8K TV.

No surprise really as flagship Panasonic OLEDs have been the overall best picture quality for home movie watching for the last few years. Pity yous don't get Panasonic tv's in the states anymore.
And I thought I was crazy buying the 75 Z9K, I did get it from Robert though and he treated me right. That thing is a monster that looks really nice. I'm happy with my no 2 choice though 👍

1080p upscale to 4K looks a hell of a lot better than 1080p. Upscaled 8k looks better than 4k. So even if it's not 8k native you do get a clarity benefit. 8k doesn't matter much on a 55 in TV. 8K does matter on an 88-in TV. When you start talking about big screen sizes, 8k helps.
8k is amazing but it's far from being main stream. I remember when 4K was at the same stage as 8k was and was more or less just a novelty. I can see 8k being main stream in 15yrs.
The public access from 1080p to 4k was a long time. The progress and shortening timeframe between 4k and 8k has exceeded and 8k is becoming cheaper and easily accessible, even though not adopted. The speed of tv material science and visuals is increasing, this means that adoption to 4k will not be accurate or linear, adoption of 4k is still not exactly there, but because 8k is accessible, most people will skip 4k adoption and go for 8k, meaning your prediction of 15 years is very inaccurate.

ok one says A80K, one says C2. I make it two - one for Sony, as I'am also thinking to buy the A80K 77". It's a beautiful looking TV, somewhere between A80J and G2, I would even say the G2 and A80K are the best WOLED's. If you can get the G2 for same price maybe get that, but if you are between A80K and C2 I would take the Sony.
I have an 'older' LG smart tv (FHD), I think the main issue with the smart TV, it is the way the manufacturers support them. For example my LG do not have an option to install Disney+ but can play Disney+ using external devices, unfortunately no way to install it 10 years later.. What is the most important? A beautiful screen, vs a ongoing support YoY from the manufacturer? I have been wondering if it would be best to focus on gorgeous screen performance (and sound) ; vs all whistle.. We can always plug a better infotainment system.
Bingo, as a regular console user. I never once got used too Smart TV apps, but I can see how this will continue to be a problem moving forward. As I don’t see manufacturers regularly sending out software updates for old stuff as opposed to just selling you brand new

...bought Signature 65" G2 on 2017, after 3 years burn-in, next year dead pixels in a corner and then next year overheating, display should be replace for 3000 USD 🤑, of course I didn't, I will not change the display every 3 years.. so thats the quality of best of the best LG has, very expensive for kinda bad quality display. Hope this Z2 last longer but I doubt it, for sure is not the best TV in the world as you say, realy recommend to go with QD Oled TV's. Tv & remote looks nice but thats about it on LG Signature line, upscaling still not good, image processing way back compared with Sony.. for a ton of money, 30.000 usd for 88"
@@KylerBorn LG will not replace the tv. They sent out a repairman three times and replaced the power board. So it’s fixed, but I’m worried it’s going to break again.
@@KylerBorn I contacted Amazon and they refunded the amount I paid for the TV. LG would not replace it. They did send out three repairman, and it finally got fixed. But, I’m not sure how long it will work because the TV is less than an inch thick and four times the screws were taken out and put in with a power drill by the repairmen.

The picture will be much better on the Samsung as the processor is better. Also, movies run at 24hz generally, and games at 4k are usually 30 or 60.
