Romagnoli Farms Takes You in the Peach Orchard

Today we take you into one of our peach orchards where a crew is picking Baby Gold peaches. Romagnoli Farms is located in Beamsville, Ontario, Canada, a third generation family farm, established in 1919. We are in the heart of Niagara wine country and our Fruit Stand is open 8-6 every day through out the summer months. Our fresh fruit is also available at our market booths at St Jacobs Farmers Market, Mississauga Central Lions Club Farmers Market, and Cambridge Farmers Market.

Hi! Beautiful farm! Can you tell me how old are those trees? Look quite old to me, yet absolutely healthy. I read somewhere that peach trees only live for 20 to 25 years. I can't believe your trees are younger than 30. What happens when they die? You cut a thousand trees at once?

These are fairly young trees actually. They grow fast on our sandy loam and don't have a really long life. We replace them as necessary, often in blocks of trees in an orchard or one at a time as needed.

Nino Stea Hi Nino, Baby gold peaches are arguably the very best peaches to put in jars as they hold their shape and colour perfectly when canned. In fact they are the only type of peaches that large processing companies use. They are in season right now! A perfect time in Ontario for bottling peaches.
