Desus really fucked up the whole hive 🪦 like as a fan we can totally see how he fell back into his Comedy Central hole and doesn’t have half the timing capability without mero.
Joe is a funny dude cause we had Mero break down what happened between him and Desus and we had Melo break down what happened with him and George Karl while Joe was like "I'm never squashing shit. ever. never ever!!" This was a great episode for real
I appreciate Melo being an open space for Mero and letting him know that he can talk to him. Also encouraging him to mend the riff. That was dope to see so shout out to Melo.
Mero’s entrepreneurial skills have been proven. Went from yelling “Barmelo Xanthony!” To having a show with Melo himself! He’s solidified in entertainment imo, he’s the one who created the key and peele football sketch with all the crazy names too lmao 🔥
I just attended a conversation about the state of mental health in the school system in my state and this subject was brought up multiple times. Straight up.
That's because the black community stigmatised mental health and over hyped black masculinity to the point that black men are trapped in their own head till they snap and hurt someone. Black men need to vent too black men to express hurt too black men need to take a mental break too
Serious question and not trying tk be rude just honestly asking, do you watch mero other podcast? I tried to watch it a few times but it just seemed so far removed from what the Bodega boys was just cause it seems so much talk is dedicated to super progressive politics with the other dude host and was wondering if that is the vibe of it or did I catch a few bad episodes
@RogueCityDynasty shit lol that's the one I'm asking about actually, is it actually a similar vibe the episodes I've seen were more about explaining cis hetero privilege then jokes
@@DeShawnMcDonaldvictory is its own thing and has its own humor. It’s dirty and witty just like bodega boys with even greater perspectives and references to the culture ☠️ the old videos are still up on the bodega boys channel 4 you to watch and learn the words to like the rest of us fans🌚
I can’t believe they got Mero to talk about what we all wanted to know. It went down exactly as I thought. I don’t fault Desus even though I’m team Mero. That potential life style after getting out of NY everyday life is very tempting. He wanted more as we all should. Now based on his personality I think Desus thought he was more talented than Mero. I’m sure he thought his rise would be much easier than it is. You know fame got to his head and that could happen to anyone. Mero had a family and was grounded by that. While Mero had to think of his family Desus only had to think of himself. Nobody is really wrong in this situation they were moving and different direction and had different goals. At least it didn’t turn ugly between them. I’m sure with the right mediator they can find common ground again and be friends. No one can take what they did and created together.
We need Desus's side. Sadly I doubt you'll get it cause there's no benefit to it. Desus always comes off as Hollywood, in that he is aiming for something higher till he is in that socialite status. We can only assume on his character. I seen a video in where Desus explains that he's good at hopping jobs because he's done the best of them and the worst of them. So climbing is always his goal
Desus was definitely gearing up to go Hollywood the whole time. Used the bodega hive as a jumpstart to his Comedy Central late night career and that shit hurts. Because desus and mero was HOT FIRE. Paradigm shifting and a cultural reset. Seeing how mero carries himself after everything turned on him is not only inspiring, but shows you how he’s really navigating this whole media conglomerate with his wits and team behind him.
I got that feeling when they did viceland out in L.A. for a whole week. You could see the gears turning even then. And it looks like they got him if you know what I'm talkin bout
@@El_Fonzo nah we’ve been following this split like a true crime documentary. Literally grew up w this duo. We saw how both viceland and showtime started to intervene with the show and it’s humor, along with showtime fucking with the budget or refusing to give them an ample one. Showtime cited victor as the reason the show was ending. Everybody laid their cards on the table right after that. Desus sold, plain and simple. We died for the hive and that nigga shit on our foreheads.
You can kinda see how Mero was blind sided. Mero is a street dude who thought authenticity was all he needed. Mainly grounded by the fact his family was well off, Mero could be comfortable to be him. But since the switch over from Vice, writting was on the wall. You could always feel how Desus was able to switch easier. Plus look at interviews they do, Desus talks way more and often over everyone else
Detlef Schrempf is crazy, no wonder George Karl never won. He had inferiority issues and was very insecure. The fact that he compared Melo to George Gervin, whom he despised, says everything. Coaches like him are why some players don't have the careers they were expected to have. Now it makes sense why Detroit didn't draft Melo.
This is a alternative reality lol it was supposed to be OG Desus and Mero on the OG JBP podcast lol crazy this fire tho. Shouts out to Barmelo Xanthony. I’m still playing NBA Live 2005, Carmelo slow motion dunking in the sky
Steph going back to his home town to finish his last season would be dope. Because he still have family in Charlotte, his Dad played in Charlotte, and now his brother is in Charlotte at the moment. I could see him testing the waters with that. To give his hometown fans what they want to see him go crazy in Charlotte.
This has become my favorite podcast in sports. They talk about real shit but don’t chase controversy. I can’t wait to see what guests they have lined up.
I was a day one Desus and Mero fan. Like, pod when it was on SOUNDCLOUD before it blew up. As a huge fan you wanna see them work it out and be brothers, but understand the inevitability of business when things blow... I get it. I hope they work through it, move past it, and find the love and respect in the end. I'm also a nuggets fan for over 40 years. What happened with George is still frustrating. Nothing but love and respect for Melo. He changed the entire organization and anyone that doesn't respect that wasn't with us shooting in the gym in the post mutumbo/pre Melo years. Wish y'all peace and love. You gotta love and respect the journey and remember all of it is what got you here. For better or worse your past birthed your present. Peace.

Thank you for creating an opportunity where Mero felt comfortable to finally address what we have sort of known, but never from his own mouth.
