I think Desus is winning. His silence seems to have gotten him more opportunity for the Hollywood scene, which is what he wanted.

@@TheStop but that doesn’t answer the question about why Mero couldn’t do the draft King deal. The premise of the argument was desus didn’t have ownership of bodega boys. If Desus isn’t an owner and doesn’t want to do the deal but the owner wants to do a draft kings deal, then a draft kings deal gets done. The situation was probably Desus and Mero collectively own the bodega boys, so if they were to reach an agreement for any deal, they would both need to agree to it. Which explains why neither Desus or Mero has moved forward with a bodega boys project individually.

Assuming Mero did have 100% ownership he would not "NEED" Desus to sign off on the deal...he could just do it by himself. So the commenter is basically saying that the 100% ownership comment/assumption/quote couldn't be true. Your comment appears to list a benefit or advantage or reason for Mero to have had 100% ownership of Bodega boys, but that couldn't have been true when needing Desus to be in agreement, which was why @hotsauce717 said what he said.

It’s sad because desus is really smart and his humor is so clever. He has really great commentary and I think he’d go far if he put in the work. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he has other more lowkey business going on that he’s more focused on so he can get out the spotlight

It's really not that complicated. Desus thought he was better off without Mero, which is crazy cuz he's the least talented of the 2. I think Desus was being difficult at the end because he didn't want to be locked into any more contracts with Mero. Desus is better at networking, but he doesn’t have the talent to back it up.

Desus is good for a late night talk show or something but Mero probably has more longevity. I think Desus really wants to go Hollywood and entertain the white people, although Desus seems to have fallen off I wouldn't be surprised if he succeeds in the mainstream, hes probably cooking behind the scenes but Mero will have a more soli fanbase even if it's more underground and/or more black. Basically Desus sold out, but yeah, according to some so did Will Smith, LL Cool J, Biggie and everyone else who appealled to the mainstream and made loads of money so we'll see who wins the breakup.

I was not a big fan of the show but will remember that breakfast club blowout. If anything it looks like Desus is winning. His face and is popping up in commercials and etc. When I see Mero its on digital platforms that are not paying him to pull up and he is always speaking about this situation. Sometimes you have to grow and adapt to not having the other leg.

At the end of the day, Mero is grounded as a family man, so while the gigs he's taking aren't as lofty or glamourous or visible (currently) as what Desus is striving for, Mero is doing what he has to to make ends meet. The Victor scandal is still looming, but that's obviously not stopping the grind. We obviously need to hear Desus's perspective because he always told us 'gotta hear both sides' it's wild how, while a good portion of people believe what Mero is saying, people will equally give Desus an ear, because we were such big fans of the duo and were invested in their trajectory.
