Small clarification, Crash Bandicoot is made by Vicarious Visions, not Toys for Bob (4:00).
To reiterate, renewing a trademark does NOT guarantee the return of Skylanders; obviously it's a good sign, but considering only one trademark has been renewed, I don't think we're getting anything anytime soon. They would at least renew the Portal of Power trademark first (unless they called it something new).
I mean, we had other Portal of Power before. Like Traptanium Portal and the Rift Engine portal. So a new portal being made is very posable since they did it 2 times before under a different name.

I hope Skylanders does end up coming to steam like Disney infinity did. the execution for Disney Infinitys comeback was great and I'm hoping Skylanders does the same in the way Disney made it so you can access all the content without the need of the figurines or power discs.
absolutely phenomenal preservation of that game, unfortunately did not happen for Dimensions or Skylanders.

its on steam the winter sale they had was selling all three games in a bundle for 18$ ( which i got ) and it gives you access to everything each game is sold at the price of a normal game 60$ i think im not sure but whenever a steam sale goes on for the game it always has a extremely good deal / bundle offer so yea be on the look out for that if youre interested ( ive seen the same sale go on prior to the winter sale so itll probably comeback at a lower price the next sale they do )@@TaeKwonWhoa

It's common practice for large companies to renew trademarks even if they don't currently have plans of using them.
Patents are really cheap to renew and are almost always worth it in case the company ever wants to start making money of it again.
yeah, I would have to agree. It's still good to point out, since if they didn't renew the trademark, then we shouldn't get our hopes up for anything in the near future...

+ it would be giving up an asset that would give the company more value in case they were to get bought up by another company.
I personally don't think renewing or not renewing it has much to say on, if we get another game / remaster or not.
Most companies just let their patents run renewals forever, even in cases where a franchise has internally or publicly been discontinued.
thanks for all the info, honestly since they only renewed a single patent it's not looking so good for now, and I brought it up because it definitely disproves the leak (as the giants and spyros adventure trademarks were not renewed)
@@theSkylandeer I just realised that there's probably a good chance that they're renewing it because other companies are using the chips you mentioned the patent covers.
Just a shot in the dark here, but I could totally imagine a world were nintendo found it to be cheaper to pay Activision than to make their own chips for their Amiibo figures.
Just a thought, though I do think it's the tech more than the games they're protecting.
I think I've accidentally used patent and trademark interchangeably in my comments.
Basics are:
Patents are for products.
Trademarks are for names, logos and branding.
And copyright is for ownership and rights to publish/sell.

The biggest blow to the entire trailer's authenticity is that it uses British spelling (favourite) instead of American spelling (favorite) despite the fact that Activision, Toys for Bob and Vicarious Visions are American companies PLUS the fact Skylanders is an American franchise

Hi, i was involved in some of the messing around on this ploy (ex: I’m the clown who didn’t know the Portal of Power and other trademarks were not renewed and told the headplanner to put those on there lol so whoopsies). If i remember right, he told me that the summoning screen around 5:30 is edited footage of something from the 3DS versions of the games (don’t remember if it’s SSA 3DS or Giants 3DS though) so it’s not entirely new
ohhh, good to know. I haven't played the 3DS games so makes sense why I never recognized it. Also I don't think people thought it was fake because of the Trademarks😂

If we get a remaster with all the skylanders games in one as well, I'd buy and play em all. I only fully played spyro's adventure when I was a kid. I may have been a kid, but even I could tell from giants on it was a cash grab.

I honestly wouldn’t mind remasters happening - especially if every single character can be used in every single game. They’re gonna need some serious rebalancing for that though since Senseis and Imaginators are so stronk.

The "Summon Skylander" is from the 3DS Version of Giants by the way but they added the "Summon Skylander" part

The final nail in the coffin is the fact they would supposedly use figures again.
Why would Activision do that? It didn’t work last time and programming a character selection screen is much less risky than rereleasing old figures that people might not even buy.
I don't think it's impossible that they let us use real figures, but I'd say theres an 80% chance that we have to buy each character digitally to play them
@@theSkylandeer I guess, but the reason why people didn’t like the figures, outside of clutter, was the cost. If they try to bring back Toys To Life like the way it was, they’d slammed by consumers. Just look at Starlink: No one played it, even after they dropped the figures.

Putting every skylander in giants and SA is difficult considering there was no jumps and certain characters have jumps as mechanics like rattle shake
very good point. I feel like if there was a remaster of the first two it would just be the first two rosters. Alternatively they could add jumping to the game, but that would require redoing a lot of the levels
Even though the leaks are fake. I would be great to see a remaster of SSA and SG, and the addition of Ultra Nightmare in Giants would make the game so much more difficult and fun to play because if your Skylanders are fully maxed out, fully levelled up and you have some skill Nightmare mode just isn't hard enough.
the difficulty is really the best feature of this remaster lmao, especially since SSA has no difficulty settings

I really wish we could have a Skylanders rerelease compilation. I miss Spyro’s Adventure. And it would be awesome if they released a version of the games with all figures accessible as digital versions, without having to bother with the plastic.

4:36 There were like 10 Spyro Games that came out after 2003 that aren't on Steam, but Reignited Trilogy was the first one, so it isn't that unbelivable that this could possibly happen

@@theSkylandeer Yes before the Reignited there were a lot: 1, 2, 3, Enter the Dragonfly, Hero's Tail, Season of Ice, Season of Flame, Attack Of The Rhynocs, Orange, Shadow Legacy, A New Beginning, Eternal Night and Dawn of the Dragon

One thing i would change is the imaginators skylander select menu in short having one row of characters for you to select sounds terrible i would change it like the hat selection menu like in giants and if you type the skylander name all version of that skylander would show up.

i really do hope they remake the series and add it to steam. sure, some of the charm willl be lost by getting rid of toys to life and just adding a summon skylanders system but the games deserve to be preserved, even the bad ones.

honestly, steam would make some sense especially with the virtual collection system as Disney infinity did the exact same thing. so likely it wouldn't be a full starter pack but just the game on steam. even if this is a fake leak it would make sense to finally put the game on steam especially if they go the route of the digital collection in the future
it probably could work and I really hope it does as some point because I much prefer playing on PC

Guys, we are not getting a Skylanders remaster yet. We are getting a new 7th game made by fans, call Skylanders dungeon Heroes. Supposedly this one is trying to implement the races of Skylanders better. Which is why we're getting a cyclops Skylander for example. It's also bringing back old Skylander concepts like tar claps and that sniper guy from Giants. Other new characters include slobber trap, grinnade, and sheep creep as fully playable Skylanders, a big lizard named repvile, and a chompy with a bazooka named rocket chomper, who is supposedly the chompy from mirror of mystery, since in mirror mystery everyone who's evil becomes good.

It would make sense to at least try bring back Skylanders in some form, as it made a lot of money from people buying the figures. Ik recent toys to life games have failed but what have they got to lose in trying a new Skylanders game
with Microsoft backing it they can afford to take that risk honestly
I think now that toys for bob is indie I think they’re going to make Spyro 4 and then maybe a skylanders remasters or a new game
They want to go third-party and release games on other consoles so i doubt that it will be limited to xbox considering Microsofts ever changing strategies they clearly want to move on from making hardware for their systems and instead publish games that's probably why they brought them

toys for bob could change the gameplay and even they could have no toys to life just digital we could have all of the dlc and even could definitely have imaginators and swap force but digital. And for me I would definitely love to see thumps wampa island dlc levels and it would be at price and I hope it would happend. And just get rid of the toy tag and toy pad too.

ACTIVISION MAKE A NEW SKYLANDERS GAME AND MY BAG IS YOURS
What they could do is let the backwards compatible exist within a remaster but make new designs for the older characters while also putting the old skylanders back on the market and make it easier for people since they are older
