Jim, my wife had breast cancer back in 2003. She had great care and a great surgeon! Her oncologist was the very best and she's a survivor. Cancer free since 2003! We know somewhat what you're going through and we're terribly disturbed about your illness and are aware that sometimes the treatment seems worse than the illness but hang in there! The chemo nearly killed her so they only did 4 infusions when they had 6 scheduled. Getting to her doctors when she was feeling bad as you said, I'm sure saved her life multiple times. Great advice and you were more concise than you realize. We're all still pulling for you and our prayers are that you'll go I to remission. We know it's hard but keep us updated as best you can, not only are you a great HAM Radio Elmer but you're also Elmering those with cancer as well! Thank you! 73s!!
Your rambling is better than many people’s being concise. I pray that you remain comfortable and may the many prayers made on your behalf perform miracles.
I've been where you are now. MDS first. Put in remission here in Carson City, NV. About a year and a half later it came back, only this time it was full blown AML. This time we headed to Houston to MD Anderson Cancer Center. I was 73 (I think) at that time. We drove down with our RV trailer in tow. Got a spot at an RV resort not far from Anderson. I was in bad shape, and could barely move on my own. Platelets, HGB, everything was rock bottom low. Moving ahead, they got me into remission and then I got a stem cell transplant. We headed home, with some chemo tabs for "maintenance". This was good for not quite two years when the AML started to come back, worse than before. So, back to Houston. This time we were in the RV park for a solid year! Again they got me into remission and again I got another stem cell transplant. THIS transplant will be two years old this July 7th. I feel really good, given the circumstances. All my "numbers" are in the normal range, though some are at the bottom of normal. Doesn't matter - I'll take it. I'm now 78. I'm looking forward to many more leukemia and chemo free years. Jim, if there is ANY way you can find your way to MD Anderson, your chances for remission will be GREATLY increased. I swear, they are miracle workers down there! At your age, you can still get a stem cell transplant. Anderson is head and shoulders above anything that Kaiser can do. Medicare and a supplemental insurance will pay for every penny of your treatment. God bless you, my friend. K7LWL
Hello Jim, wow that's a very tough break. Good grief Jim I thought our Irish health service was bad, it sounds the medical service in the US worse than here. Keeping you and your XYL in our thoughts.
Happy Birthday! As a civilization we are beginning to pay the price for decades of dangerous chemicals we’ve created. More and more people are seriously ill related to exposure to agents we were either unaware of or were told were safe. Thinking of you and your wife.

I have been keeping an eye on you and listening and watching your videos for several months and I must say that I think you are as tough as a mountain loin when it comes to health and well being problems and a saint to ham radio. I sincerely hope that you can be as well as possible and feel less necessary to make additional trips to the ER. Jim, thanks so much for sharing. That's a bit of a cliché these days but I do mean it. Being a survivor myself (twice over and counting) I know how hard it can be just to tell people how you feel, both physically and emotionally, so thank you. As always you are in my prayers.
Jim, it’s absolutely wonderful to see you twice today. You are such an inspirational man in so many ways. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in all things ham radio. Jim, thank you for all of your knowledge and grace that you have shared with me (and us). I’ll be praying for you and your family during this period. God bless you brother!! 😀😇
Oh, my! I hadn't seen your channel much in the last 2 or so years due to health problems of my own, but now I understand that my problems are very minor compared to yours. You have provided wonderful advice, but more than that, you have represented ham radio as a wonderfully smart, honest, kind person. I am very proud to have watched you for the years that I had that opportunity. 73, Mark, KE6BB in So. Cal.
Greeting Jim, keeping you and your wife in prayers... Stay strong and keep positive thoughts my friend, get well soon and best of 73 from Jeff de WD8JM
Been watching you for the last couple of years, Finally got my Technician license. And hope to go forward with my General. Thank you for al your videos, you have been a great help. I wish you and your wife the best of luck and health. Its people like you that make a difference in the Ham Radio World.
Jim, you are THE ham radio Elmer. I've learned so much from you over the years. (My favorite - "there's NO SUCH THING as RF ground" - hihi, I say that all the time and it gets people so riled up!) I really hope you and your briother-in-law and wife have much better days ahead. You have so much more to teach, and we have so much more to learn! I heard you on 20m last night during your very brief QSO, I would have called you but you said on-air that you had to go and edit this video to get it out. You were actually my VERY FIRST contact on my Flex 6600, back before the kinks were worked out (that was a mic problem). I hope we have a chance for another QSO someday soon. I hope you feel better very soon, good friend. (I say "good friend" because that's how it feels after watching so many of your Elmer vids.) Take care, and I hope you can stay out of that ER! Curt - N6ATC
Jim, I only started following you recently (Myself, I am a new ham) when you did the ham clock video, so I haven't known you as long as many on here. But I do hope you pull through this! Everyone is on your side! Good luck Jim!
Happy Birthday Jim. I wish nothing but the best for you for your birthday and the days to come. Thank you for all that you have done in assisting me and being my Elmer for afar.
Your story helps the rest of us realize that our story is not unique. I was diagnosed with MDS last August, AML a couple of months later. Working to lower my WBC so I can start Inqovi next Friday. Wishing you the best, I’m here if you need me.
Jim Just in case you might remember, we spoke by phone about two years back. I’ve related but phone conversation to my amateur friends. We all have the most respect for you. My aunt had Kaiser, and during cancer treatment I took her to various appointments, for clinicians, technicians etc. It's maddening. She past away in 2020. You do your best to keep going.
I'm glad to see that you did make it back home from the hospital. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of us. I wish I knew a fraction of what you know. I know you must need lots of things. What if anything do you need more than help with bills? I live on the other side of the states in VA. so I'm not sure if I can donate blood to you but I will check to see if that's possible. Can you provide any site where we can donate money to help with your expences? Thanks my friend and keep the faith. 73 W1DRH
God bless, Jim. Hang in there. I have metastatic stage IV myself and still kicking beyond expectations. I refuse to let it define me. My heart goes out to you. 73

Sorry for the journey you are having to walk right now, Jim. I am praying for you and your wife (her hearing and her brother in addition to her concern for you). Glad you were feeling well enough to give us an update. Thanks for the valuable Elmer information you continue to provide.
Happy belated birthday. I've followed you for several years and I have the utmost respect for you. So many people love and respect you as well. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. 73 WB4MNC
Long video? No, but a long story, it seems you have had a long hard road recently. Talking about it may help and you need to know friends are listening, and praying. Keep up the good fight. God Bless!
I was only licensed last year. While it's true that I can refer back to your content over the years (and I certainly have been), it's quite unfortunate and sad that I won't be able to follow along moving forward. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and perspective over the years in a format that will (hopefully!) remain available long after even I am gone. You're truly a great resource for us all. 73 from NM5RF
Best wishes Jim… as per my email, I too have MDS but earlier on in the journey. I’m also one of the SDRplay team and nice to see SDRuno in your backdrop:-)
Hi Jim, I live in South Africa. The sun is always shining here and there is always the risk of developing skin cancer if you have a light skin. I developed a growth on the lower eye lid of my right eye. I do not know if it is cancer or just a benign growth but I went on a high nutrition diet for about two months and the growth have shrunk noticeably. I would like to share the diet with you. The soup Ingredients: - two handfuls of Chopped broccoli, one chopped onion (purple), two bags of green tea, two pinches of mixed herbs, two sticks of cut celery, Two handfuls of frozen and crushed spinach or kale, half a table spoon of crushed garlic, Three shakes of black pepper, seven shakes of turmeric, two tablespoons full of apple cider vinegar (with the mother), one bag of white onion powder soup for flavour, a hand full of cooked red speckled beans and a handful of cooked mince meat. Just add all the ingredients in a pot, add boiling water and switch the stove on high till the water boils. Then lower the heat until the water simmer, Let the soup simmer for an hour. The soup is now ready. I would only drink water in the morning. At 12h00 I would start eating the soup. There will be about two helpings that you can eat in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. I also ate a fruit salad every day in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. (Note: Apparently turmeric reduces the effect of some chemotherapy drugs and thus should not be taken during chemotherapy.) During the rest of the week I would also eat food that contains vitamin D like avocado’s, mushrooms, liver and eggs in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. It seems to be working for me, maybe it will also work for you. I pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ that you will be healed. Amen. I would also like to share the following seven videos with you about salvation and two videos about evolution: Evolution vs. God th-cam.com/video/uc_W9VtzJ0A/w-d-xo.html DESTROYING Evolution In Under 3 Minutes th-cam.com/video/sWecPwrQv2c/w-d-xo.html Watch the Holy Spirit Work in Her Heart (Very Moving) th-cam.com/video/iBEoI2u6kII/w-d-xo.html Fearing The Lord, God’s Discipline & Sharing The Gospel th-cam.com/video/dES5WW66Mro/w-d-xo.html A Clear Gospel Presentation by Pastor Steven Anderson - How to go to Heaven th-cam.com/video/IXEeMWCxyrQ/w-d-xo.html The Plan of Salvation th-cam.com/video/PmkhRMPvt_0/w-d-xo.html How to Get Saved th-cam.com/video/ajWdkuvrT6s/w-d-xo.html The Truth About Hell (Selected Scriptures) th-cam.com/video/AVzbh_dLq3s/w-d-xo.html What is The Gospel of Jesus Christ? Perhaps your wife’s hearing loss is stress related. I lost my sight completely for a short period of time many years ago and that was due to stress. Whatever the cause, I hope you both find some peace amongst the malaise that allows you to enjoy each other’s company while you both can. Your continuing sage advice on all things HAM is, I am sure, enjoyed by all who watch. Good luck getting to 50,000 viewers; you are certainly worth all of them and more.

What if anything do you need more than help with bills? I live on the other side of the states in VA. so I'm not sure if I can donate blood to you but I will check to see if that's possible. Can you provide any site where we can donate money to help with your expences? Thanks my friend and keep the faith. 73 W1DRH
Jim, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🤘
God bless, Jim. Hang in there. I have metastatic stage IV myself and still kicking beyond expectations. I refuse to let it define me. My heart goes out to you. 73

Praying for you and your family, Jim. Keep fighting the good fight.
Jim, all I can say is: I'm praying for you.
Sorry for the journey you are having to walk right now, Jim. I am praying for you and your wife (her hearing and her brother in addition to her concern for you). Glad you were feeling well enough to give us an update. Thanks for the valuable Elmer information you continue to provide.
Keep fighting. All the best to you and your XYL.
Sending Prayers Jim!

Continued prayers for you and also for your wife's hearing. 73 - K2CDM
Long video? No, but a long story, it seems you have had a long hard road recently. Talking about it may help and you need to know friends are listening, and praying. Keep up the good fight. God Bless!
praying for you Jim!
Thanks for sharing and Happy Birthday to you Jim.
Jim, I’ve been praying for you and your wife. God bless.
Best wishes Jim… as per my email, I too have MDS but earlier on in the journey. I’m also one of the SDRplay team and nice to see SDRuno in your backdrop:-)
Hi Jim,
I live in South Africa.
The soup
Ingredients: - two handfuls of Chopped broccoli, one chopped onion (purple), two bags of green tea, two pinches of mixed herbs, two sticks of cut celery, Two handfuls of frozen and crushed spinach or kale, half a table spoon of crushed garlic, Three shakes of black pepper, seven shakes of turmeric, two tablespoons full of apple cider vinegar (with the mother), one bag of white onion powder soup for flavour, a hand full of cooked red speckled beans and a handful of cooked mince meat.
(Note: Apparently turmeric reduces the effect of some chemotherapy drugs and thus should not be taken during chemotherapy.)
During the rest of the week I would also eat food that contains vitamin D like avocado’s, mushrooms, liver and eggs in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame.
It seems to be working for me, maybe it will also work for you.
I pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ that you will be healed. Amen.

You're in my prayers and your wife too. Thanks for the update. KA6PSD Robert ❤❤
Wishingbyou and your wife the very best for your health.
May the Lord's Peace & Healing be with you and your wife Jim! God's Blessings to you both!! ❤❤❤
Thank You for every thing you have done. I wish you well.73
Godspeed. I will pray for you.
My prayers are with you. Take care.
Wishing you the best! 🙏
Thank you for the update.
Stay salty Jim. You are THE inspiration to and for so many. 🙏
Bless you.
Lifting both you and your wife up in prayer, hope to make contact sometime. 73 -Jim W8JLB
