As a Sixers fan, I have more faith in Maxey then I ever did in Harden, if things don’t work (which in Philly is inevitable) I will never blame Maxey because he puts in all the effort and hard work necessary.
Players like Tyrese Maxey show that talent is required, but hard work and dedication to the craft is more important in the long run which is almost impossible to predict when players have similar profiles in the draft process.
I went to HS with him, had 3 classes. We often talked about how he would be in the NBA and Ima be watching him play at home. The dedication of this man is crazy, i love his work ethic and he proved all the haters wrong.
Honestly I’ve been a sixers fan since 95. Been watching him since highschool and I didn’t think he would be as good as he is. Just really been elevating his game since the summer league. Every advantage she has on the court against his opponent he uses it on every single play. Haliburton can ball though we’re proud of him in Wisconsin.
He had a rough shooting year and didn’t have the opportunity to showcase himself in the SEC or NCAA tournaments. It was a perfect storm of crazy circumstances that lead to his fall
@Andrew-bd8dc because of Covid there was no March Madness either...a lot of guys raise their draft stock with their play. Maxey could've gone off and been a lottery pick.
No this class is trash. They’ve got some good players like Haliburton ant lamelo bane Maxey and quickley. But other than some other solid players this class is terrible

I thought he'd go around 10-11 when he got past 15 I started to hope he would drop to sixers as I thought his quickness and shooting fit exactly what the sixers needed to match with Joel.
I absolutely love watching Maxey play. Yeah he's an incredible player, but there are plenty I don't find interesting to watch. He's both, and seems like a level headed young man. So thrilled to have him.
Stupid comment. The "process" years were all about draft capital since we weren't a team that couldn't contend due to poor management in previous years. They're a contender now, he's not going anywhere.
Coach Cal told everybody that Tyrese Maxey was gonna be really good & only the Sixers listen and that doesn’t usually happen with the Sixers we got so lucky! With out him Joel is already gone. 76ers🏀4Life
Honestly, it really doesn’t matter if you’re #1 or #2. It matters the team/organization that picks you. Tyrese landed in the perfect team at the perfect time. Philly needed a PG. maxey got the minutes & it’s playing very good. Others guys barely get playing time. So for them to adjust takes longer.
Funny scouts were concerned about Maxey adapting to the pace of the NBA. Dude is Pace. And that they thought anyone in that draft was more athletic. AE is the deal but Maxey is too
@@EZSNlPES They are an ass franchise. Terrible ownership terrible GMs. Every good draft pick they’ve gotten was luck. If we get the the first instead of the third pick in 2014 we pick Wiggins. We draft Okafor in 15 over booker. We draft Simmons in 16 we MOVE UP to draft fultz in 17 we trade for Butler and then let him walk and max out Tobias in panic mode. We draft bridges and then trade him for a dude who’s not even in the league anymore. If Covid doesn’t happen and Maxey plays in March Madness he doesn’t slip to us. We are the Knicks with slightly better draft luck. It is what it is.
Taking injury into account (i.e. LeMelo Ball), in a redraft, it would be AE and the two Tyrese's 2nd & 3rd, respectively ... Man if Morey did not have a hard-on for reliving the Houston Harden days, the 76ers would be set and be perennial chip contenders with BOTH Tyrese's and Embiid!!!
Looks good on paper, but in all actuality, it would have hurt the growth of both players being they play the same position. People just look at players individual stats and don't take into consideration what fuels those stats. Playing time and team fit are crucial to the stats. So if Halliburton was a Sixer, he and Maxey would be forced to play out of position for portions of the game and also get less minutes.
@@johnkiz9310 Am I missing something Haliburton is the quintessential PG leading the league in assists... Maxey can play both the '1' & '2' but is more successful as a '2' like last year when Harden was the main ball handler and assist leader... The year prior Maxey did a relatively decent job taking the primary PG role in the absence of Simmons but that is NOT his natural position... So I disagree 1000% of what you said above and the TYRESE's would be the perfect backcourt (offensively at least) for Philly along w/ Embiid!!!
@@aqn1976 he is not more successful playing the 2. We've seen that Maxey isn't as good when playing off ball when Harden was there. He needs the ball to be most effective. @@johnkiz9310 maxey did better then a lot of people would have been at his point in his career especially playing with harden that holds the ball for a long time and usually passes out of no where at the worst time possible because he didnt want to take the shot
