    Thank you for making this video and giving him the attention he deserves! Even amongst TH-camrs who strictly cover the sixers, people have been very hesitant to speak this glowingly about Maxey, not wanting to "get their hopes up." And I've been saying since last season this kid is in a league of his own. In the 8 games Embiid has missed, Maxey is averaging 24 points, 4.5 assists, and 0.5 TURNOVERS per game. Tobias has missed many of these games as well. The turnover rate is unheard of in the league. There is no superstar, no 6th man, no all time great who takes care of the ball that well right now. This while he shoots a top tier percentage and has every move in his bag, as you mentioned. I'm not going to say he's the next Damian Lillard but I'm certainly not going to say he can't be

      Pfft. This guy is talking about Maxey like he scouted him and is the only one that saw potential.
      In reality this video is 20/20 hindsight and makes a mockery out of the improvement he's made so he can toot his own horn.
      This video is literal trash.

      @@MrMancreatedgod think you're missing the point big guy.. there's a SEGMENT of people who wanted Maxey to get 30+ minutes in last year's playoffs. Most people said woah woah woah pump the brakes... There's a SEGMENT who said at the start of this season that Maxey is on his way to being an all star. Most people said woah woah woah pump the brakes. Maxey is going to be a lot better than most people realize, possibly even better than the sixers realized. There's a reason he went #20 and it isn't because there were 19 better players in that draft

    No 2020 March Madness due to COVID may have been the biggest blessing to the sixers. I am 100% confident that had the tournament happened Maxey would've balled out and would've gone much higher in the draft than he did. But because that spotlight wasn't there, he was able to fly under the radar and philly was able to pick him up at 21st.

    A new generation of guards that I call "paint guards"
    This dude, Ja and Trae are very comfortable scoring in the paint like old school Tony Parker, but not afraid to take the 3 when the opportunity presents itself. This is what makes them hyper efficient scorers, with the exception of Trae who is starting to become more efficient as he gets more comfortable. Maxey and Ja appear to be way ahead of schedule though

    Maxey is a baller, flat out. The dynamic of his continued development in relation to Simmons almost makes Simmons expendable. Right now I suspect that Morey is not getting many decent offers for Simmons. I don't believe Simmons can mentally play for the Sixers ever again. The league knows this and that is why he has yet to be moved. Some type of injury or major need on a great team will create a trade partner as long as Morey can remain patient and that's what Maxey provides.
    If the Sixers can get back a legit sniper at the two for Simmons, they become extremely dangerous in the East. Everything goes through Joel and that's probably the correct mindset for this team. Simmons is a luxury on a complete team. I've said that since day one. He can't shoot and he can't make free throws. He'll end up being a decent 6th man with diminishing minutes and zeros off of his contract. Hopefully for the Sixers and for Simmons, a deal can be made. Even if it's high Draft picks coming back, I can see a few guys in College right now who could be that Two.

    Take note.He is also known already as being a phanatic gym rat.In philly its known that he literally works out EVERY MORNING at 4 like Kobe.Even weekends.Coaches are sometimes told to lock the gym on him so he cant get in!!!! FACTS.

    Maxey is the NBA's tom brady. Drafted low but is showing he is becoming one of the best nba players ever. If the sixers even mention maxey in any kind of trade the sixers are in big trouble wit the philly fan base. Things will get dangerously physical. Hood style! This organization is known for getting rid of alot of great players because the sixers organisation happens to be very incompetent! N tht scares the shit out of me. Because thy really do some dumb shit!

      The sixers got rid of Charles,Iverson,Butler, wilt. Shall i go on? This organization is one of the dumbest n has been for a long long time! We can only hope thy smartin up n fast. Maxey, curry, thybulle n embiid should be untouchable. Lets hope so anyway.

      Well, I do a podcast so everything I say is kind of on the record - so go back and listen to our pre-draft stuff! Or check out my tweet about him on draft night or from throughout last season or listen to podcasts about that, too.

    Think you got a key point about Maxey wrong--he's very fast but does NOT have a quick first step, part of what's been so impressive about him is that he's been able to drive consistently without that tool. He creates separation with those picks and his speed, but he's also been phenomenal at scoring in little gaps and making do with those tight spaces. His lack of elite quickness, size, and a pure shooting stroke were big reasons he fell in the draft, and he's proven to everyone that he didn't need all those things to score at this level.

      He has the quickest first step in the nba, that’s all he used his rookie year to score, now he’s expanding his skills

    • @johnrowland5922
      @johnrowland5922 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah, like I said he’s very fast but to get space he always either uses a pick or uses a lot of space to burn his defender with speed. He doesn’t have that twitchy first step that can create space on its own, that’s never been a thing for him. And it makes his scoring now all the more impressive.

    Stop keep hyping these kids before they have proven over a period of time against good opposition. Setting bars too high is kind of a Philadelphia pastime. Soon as they start coming down to earth, they are then criticized.
