As an returning player back from 2017 I am having an amazing time with Wrecking-Ball. I somewhat play him differently using his mobility to get myself into and out of fights/objectives and hunting down escaping targets. It’s very fun to reject the space to objectives with his abilities to gain shields and knock foes back with his grappling hook. Probably the most underrated and has the highest potential out of all the heroes.
I've been having an absolute blast with Overwatch 2 since its release and the tanks make up some of the most fun I've had playing the game so far. Great video, this will make me understand how to better play tanks and have more fun hopefully!

I went against an orissa yesterday that was super hard to kill. She had a great baptise and Kira to support her which made it that much more effective.
I'm a new player, having a blast with Roadhug but I'm still not sure how to behave during the matches, if I take the front lane enemy destroys me and if I try to look for DPS when they are alone I think i'm not tanking for my team even if I'm getting kills.
As roadhog, you must hook enemies out of position. His presence alone is enough for the enemy team to hug corners and other cover to avoid your hook. This will limit their movement, but it only works if you're connecting with your hooks. Don't flank as him, output enough damage for them to respect their distance. You're going to take a ton of damage as him when trying to get hooks, really just hook sqishies and shoot at the enemy tank when they're in front of you.
Note if you play damage tanks at all you will occasionally get someone saying something like "gg no tank" even in quick queue and point out your low mit like it means anything. It doesnt. They just want a shield bot and you probably did fine just report them and keep playing who you like. Only scumbags flame their own team.

Play her aggressive. Use your thrusters to dive a vulnerable enemy, then while flying at them, activate your missles and use your primary fire as you get close to them. You'd be surprised how much damage she can do this way, plus flying at enemies knocks them back slightly and damages them. You will have no value if you stand with your team and take damage the entire team. She's more valuable when diving specific targets and getting them low for her team. Use defense Matrix to delete projectile damage when you can of course. Being that her defense matrix extends forward, you can use it to delete major damage coming toward her team. Try not to hold it the entire team, use it in bursts.
New to the game after OW2 released, definitely gonna main Sigma. High damage, absolutely ridiculous survivability, good synergies. As funny as it is getting 4 endorsements for embedding myself in a Roadhogs ass and holding R2 as Mercy, Sigma has what is easily my favorite playstyle.
I played a lot of overwatch before they brought out sigma and wrecking ball but my go to tanks have always been and probably will remain orisa, roadhog and zarya with the potential to maybe swap out roadhog for DVa or XXXL Thor
I’d consider Orisa to be a Stall instead of a Damage tank. She has plenty of damage abilities, but her damage is pretty bad. She is however able to hold the front line and keep enemies at bay extremely well

My only issue with Tanks is just zarya. Like I find her so easy thats not even fun. To me shes the definition of a Braindead Hero. Shes a direct counter to Sigma too, which is my tank main. It feels like I have to either join the braindead Zarya players or learn an entirely new kit with another tank.
Ramattra has two playstyles, he would fall in line with either damage/brawler and shield as labeled in this beginner level video. You want to start the engagement at a distance 'poking' the enemy down and keeping your team safe. As you and the enemy start to get closer, look for an opportunity to use his nemesis form to pressure a squishy like a support or DPS to get a pick or push the enemy back. Understanding when you need to keep your distance/close the gap as Ram will be essential to your success

His ultimate basically launches him into the sky, changing your camera view above the map, allowing you to choose a location to land. Anyone caught at the center of his landing takes a MASSIVE amount of damage.
@@zwordz I'm aware. By massive damage tho, you mean like 200 if the center is on the enemy directly, right? It's also important to note that his ultimate can be used to land on really high rooftops, or even deadly pits.

Brand new to overwatch. Been enjoying Orissa and having a lot of success, often dropping 20+ kills with the most damage on the team, but I dont want to commit to a tank that isn't viable at higher levels. Do you think committing to Orissa is a waste?
My Man really just called Doomfist a "strong dive tank" lmao. He's literally the weakest hero in the game. Even in the right hands he's still just worse than any other tank.
Definitely needs a buff, definitely weakest hero in the game; he's hard to play, but doom rocks with the right team comp. I picked him in comp the other day thinking it was quickplay and steamrolled the defense on Route 68 low diamond. When I said "strong dive tank", I mean that his mobility is strong and rocket punch. He's pretty much only good for a dive team like tracer/genji/sombra. He offers no damage mitigation, so he simply must go all-in or die repeatedly.

Sigma easily. It's so easy to top frag as him, and he's fun to use. Makes you stay sharp in battle trying to hit the hyperspheres.

Any acceptable orisa is super hard to kill. I used to main her (sigma now) and I could overextend into their whole team and live.

Play agro, But if u see your teammates getting dove on u should boost to them and help them
I've been playing tank alot in ow2 whereas in ow1 I hardly ever did. Having a blast with Sigma

The tank that gives me the most issue is Monke, with Roadhog as a runner up.
I mostly play Reinhardt, and I am relearning a lot from when I stopped playing. I also moonlight D.Va sometimes on tank.
