gonna stay here for awhile then move to another city in Philippines!
I went to binondo to try street food and hang around there
next time I will go martial arts gym in here~

Korea, Taiwan and China was more chaotic on a place like this, in the Philippines street people can interact with a foreigner, other cannot, you are totaly strangers to them.

1. Go to Binondo ( Chinatown) if you want to eat authentic Chinese food and delicacies. Don't go there for street food.
2. Street food in Makati and BGC are safe to eat because they're somehow regulated. Best street food variety can be found at Mercato in BGC.
3. Never drink the various juices sold in the streets. You don't know if the water or the ice they used is clean. Fresh coconut is OK because it directly came from the fruit.
4. Bag should always be in front.
5. Grocery items, buy them at the supermarkets not at 7-11 or Mini Stop. Cheaper at supermarkets.
all sm malls have a supermarket located at the basement. you can get your supplies there way cheaper than buying them from the 24-7 convenience stores like 7-11 or ministop.
i also agree with the mercato street food. the place is packed most of the time but you can walk around and eat... at the other end of mercato area is BGC's High Street - the food/shopping area.

You can visit here!, But be careful if your going to visit, The scam is the most common things happen to tourists.
This is the real Manila where everything is cheap and plenty to see like intramuros, the old Spanish town. We grew up there until we move to a more cosmopolitan new city like Makati. BGC. Alabang etc. We only go there to buy some cheap stuff during Christmas. Enjoy. So many new places to see because metro manila is so big.

Haven’t been to Binondo Manila for almost 20 yrs now, it’s hilarious that I kept on holding my breath every time you cross roads with lots of chaotic cars , I used to be an expert in crossing them when I was a university student in Manila. You are such a brave man in exploring it on your own! It is tourist mentality. I am always wary of bad things that could happen to me locally but I somehow forget the sense of danger when I am on vacation elsewhere, which is the wrong thing to do.

You are very courages to travel alone like this. Its been 10 years since the last time I visited manila, heard everything is expensive. But compared to the country we are right now, Philippines is far less cheaper to stay. Don't go out during rush hour for your safety concern.
Sana mag lagay ng mga designated na lugar ang Manila para sa mga street food kasi sa totoo lang kahit sa mayayamang bansa meron talagang mga street food at kadalasan yun pa ang nag papakilala ng kultura nila! Sa Manila kasi parang tinatanggal ang mga street food kasi nagiging ka kompetensya ng mga fast food...

simple tip when there's no signal light but there's a pedestrian lane, you can signal slow moving vehicles using your hand to stop or let you pass through when you cross
You are almost at my place! Lol. Its funny to see it on videos... they were pointing you to the mall(lucky chinatown) street foods are scattered, usually not gathered in 1 place... the buco(next time ask if they have malauhog- it has more juice and softer buco meat)
Usually they go to binondo to eat at the old/new chinese restaurants, having pork buns and such....
I dont usually like taking the public transport(maybe im just too scared) lol.

The game the kids were playing is called "sipa." It's a traditional Philippine sport/game, and yes similar to jegichagi. I was actually surprised too when I saw jegichagi, and said it's so similar to sipa. It's related to another sport called Sepak Takraw.

There are street food vendors selling many different types of food in many places and towns. Just ask the security guards and the store clerks what type of street food they like and where to get them.

I suggest you download Grab app on your phone and use it whenever you need transportation, it's more safer, convenient and the rate is reasonable and fixed so you don't have to haggle. You can also use waze app for the map/direction cause it's more accurate than google map.
Filipinos are mostly helpful and kind so don't hesitate to ask for assistance. It's also much better if you have a Filipino friend to guide and accompany you so that you can get a local price in buying stuff.
Always be watchful with your gadgets and wallet whenever you're in the public area, always put your bag infront of you.
For the street food, you can go to Ugbo Tondo or Quiapo both in Manila area. Hope you enjoy staying here🇵🇭, and pls stay safe! 🙏🙂

You should have gone to BGC for the variety of street foods. That's Sunset Market by Mercato in Plaza Venice, Mc Kinley Hill, BGC. Maybe 150pesos for a taxi ride from your place.

Manila should have a place on where to find specific stuffs so it won’t be confusing for local and international visitors to find where is the place for street foods, for fruits, etc. Street vendors should have a specific area, and don’t just put their shops anywhere they like.
On the positive side, I’m happy seeing the streets of Manila cleaner than how it used to be during the pre-pandemic. I hope when everything comes back to normal, people will maintain the cleanliness. Less people, less noise. Less jeepneys, less air pollution.

True. The Department of Tourism should work with local governments in the NCR to promote these places just like in Korea, they have various districts in Seoul that cater to tourists like Myeongdong and Itaewon.

Majority of us Filipinos are very happy to help. The poor kids and people can be found anywhere, they are harmless, but just be careful and alert, they can behave unusually due to hunger. Eat street food cooked at your sight. Coconuts or buko are sold everywhere, you can have the fresh water juice from it which is safe from food poisoning. I will share some helpful tips as I go along following your vlogs while you are there. I am you find your visit in the Phil. quite thrilling and enjoyable. I am surprised you have not come across a fellow Korean yet, since they live everywhere too in Manila. South Koreans majority residents are more in Cebu and North Luzon.
