Good job Brandon. Glad you re-did this video to "properly" show how to use a tip pic. Good man. However, I'd NEVER use the scuffer/shaper on a real expensive tip like Kamui Blacks....only the tip pic...and I'd only use that rarely. If you stock the Kamui Gator Grip, would be great if you did a video on that for really expensive tips. Best tip tool I've ever used.
The purpose is it will make tinny pores on the cue tip and when you chalk the tip it will hold the chalk... So if the chalk retention is very good on the tip, its will help to have more grip when your cue tip touches the contact ball...😊
shop owner at diamondback billiards here in Arizona had it between his feet with the cue upside down spinning into it, an before he did that he pressed the spike tip part into the tip an twisted it.
Honestly I've just got here because of this. We've bought 2 mediocre sticks with glued tips and those are too slippery, too smooth and we feel weird playing. It turned out that we need the scuffer to make it rough which helps to hold the chalk and get better ball 'grip'. As far as I've found on the Internet, how much you scuff your tip is a more control / more English trade. So it's a preference. But I don't think anyone plays with brand new tip so smooth and not-sticky at all that you need to chalk it all the time. So definitely do that. I'm just waiting for a scuffer to be delivered right now.
It allows more chalk stuff to lodge in between the spaces, hence improving traction between your cue tip and the cue ball.Less chances of miscuing and better cue movement transfer.
Cool video. Do you think you could do a video on how to re-tip a pool cue? I just inherited a nice cue from my grandfather that hasn't been played in a long time and needs a new tip.

Could I use the shaper with the new tip that I install ? Seems easier to shape it that way but I don't know if it would be a proper way of doing it
best short video so far even if u dont look so good like the woman in the other video
Her smirk made me cringe so I came to this guy instead. Just wanted to know what the thing in a Wish ad was lol
What the fuck does it looks have anything to do with anything
Hey Brandon, how often should I use the scuffer?
Can i change the tip for the blue one that every stick have
I have quite a high tip on mine. Will the shaper be able to shave it down slightly, too?
1:26 may i know what is the purpose of putting needle in cuetip, the benefits of it :) thankyou

Sir is it advisable to use to kamui medium layer?
Are you the one in the Billiardsdirect in La mEsa?
What are the advantages of ruffing your pool stick tip
chalk retention
More spin on shots, as a roughened tip means more friction on the ball than a smooth one.

he sells cue tips....
How often is this needed? Should it be done on a brand new high end cue?
You should be able to look at the queue and tell if it's too smooth and needs to be roughed up.
Awesome! That was just the information I was looking for!
Brandon, what are you suppose to carry in the pool cue case pockets?
showurite12 I carry an E-Grip, a tip tool and chalk. Some people put gloves or a cue towel in there too.
Your videos are really helpful Brad 🙏
Thank you. :)
What is the tool brand name ?
are you still selling this?
Is this recommended to do on a brand new cue stick?

What do holes do?

Best to just take it into a shop and have them do it
Perfect. Just what I needed. Just got a new cue and had no idea. Thank you. 🙂
Is that why my chalk dont stick to the tip so well i know i have a cheap cue
Thank you very informative
Great videos! Thanks
What poking holes do???
Poking holes into the tip using the tip-pick will aerate the tip and allow it to grab more chalk, without deteriorating the overall size of the tip.
Good
