    In this video, we use our water separation display to show the VAST difference in water filtration between FASS and our competition. In 3rd party testing, our Extreme Water Separator has been shown to remove over 99% of the water found in diesel fuel.
    If left untreated, the water found in diesel fuel at the pump can cost you THOUSANDS in injection system repairs and downtime. Fortunately, with the recent release of our Industrial Series Fuel Systems, FASS now protects a wide variety of commercial trucks!
    Currently, we have complete fuel systems available for Detroit (DD13, DD15, and DD16), CAT, Paccar, Cummins, and more! Not sure what you need? Give us a shout at (636) 433-5410, or shoot us an email at techsupport@fassride.com!

    Im curious as to why the fuel from the air dog appears to be perfectly clear for the first few seconds but then gets cloudy all of a sudden and from the side. That’s weird.
    I also read the comment explaining why the fass filter doesn’t have a water drain, but why is that an advantage? Surely there could come a point when there’s too much water in the fuel filter and it does start to make it past the trap, let’s say if someone wasn’t up on changing the filter often enough and was forced to run crappy fuel often.

      To the comment of no filter drain - that would be the exact same as someone who never opened the drain on their filter. It takes maybe 30 seconds longer to change the filter than to let that drain out

      Awesome question, and the reason for us not using a drain for the water separator is due to the difference in the way the media is constructed and works in our filters vs everyone else. We actually have a video explaining in depth how our filters work as well, and i'll attach a link to that here as well. th-cam.com/video/xtYjP4Cfpd8/w-d-xo.html
      Also, yes sir the cloudiness in the competitor’s system from the start was a pocket of air mixed with the water emulsified fuel. To be transparent, the air separation feature on both systems aren't utilized for this display.

    Why is the air dog clear at first and then bubbles get pump in to make it look cloudy a few seconds in? It honestly looks like a manipulation of the test.

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jordan that is a great question man. The cloudiness in the competitor’s system from the start was a pocket of air mixed with the water emulsified fuel. You will notice toward the end of the video that the air clears from the competitor’s system but the fuel is still cloudy from water contamination. To be transparent, the air separation feature on both systems are not utilized for this display.

    That seems like very high flow rate. I wonder if at a rate the engine would actually be consuming fuel would the air dog work better? The air dog seemed to run clear for the first few seconds then went cloudy. Possibly because the flow rate is so high it can’t properly separate the water from the fuel as it would in a real world scenario?

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Rob, we appreciate you reaching out! Though the engine may not be consuming the full flow rate of the FASS System, many of today’s modern diesel engines will use fuel for cooling injection system components and sometimes engine control modules. Some engines will require over 165 GPH of fuel flow to adequately cool the necessary components, and this is why we designed our Extreme Water Separator to effectively separate water at these high flow rates where a coalescing media loses it’s water separation ability.

    I own a lml with a cp4 so this test really opened up my eyes. How many miles can you get out of the extreme filter? It's seems like the more water that's trapped would shorten the life of the filter without a drain.

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey David, thank you for reaching out and we will be happy to help! We typically suggest replacing the filters every 20-30k miles, or every year depending on which one comes first.

    Why is there not a drain valve on your water separator?

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question, and our filters use a different media than most other water separators. This traps the water in the media and we actually did a great video on this a little while ago. I'll attach the link here where we go in depth on all the differences in the filters. th-cam.com/video/xtYjP4Cfpd8/w-d-xo.html

      Pretty crazy but my friends shop had a customer come in with a rough running 5.9 cummins, had a fass system with the old style filters, check the flow of the pump and was checking return rates found water in the fuel exactly like shown, we figured see if the hype is true and with in a min or so the truck was running smooth, I wouldn’t believe it if I didn’t see it for myself.

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is awesome, and we're happy the truck ended up running smooth! We really appreciate you sharing this story!

    Dumb question if both systems can use the fleetguard fs1000 and the hf 6338, does that mean the filters are interchangeable between the two
    If so I would be interested in how that would work with the filters switched between the two units

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries at all, and that is a great question! The thread sizes between our system and the competitors are different and wouldn't be interchangeable. We do have a large cross reference sheet on our website as well. If you have any other questions you are more than welcome to reach out to us anytime, we'll be happy to help!

    Pretty interesting but my only question is why does your water separator filter not have a water drain petcock like the shown competitor's? I really can't say good or bad things about either because I don't own either.

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We completely understand where you are coming from here and with our filters all the water is trapped in the filter vs being able to settle to the bottom. This ensures that water is not going through the filter, and what allows us to pull over 99% of the water out of your fuel. If you have any other questions, or need anything you are also more than welcome to reach out to our service team at 636-433-5410. Have a great day!

      So they can sell more filters? But the media in the filter may be hydroscopic.

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We appreciate you talking about that, and yes they are similar between the two systems. The main difference this test was indicating was the filtration, and the ability for the system as a whole to pull water and contaminants out of the fuel.

    It's a pretty damn impressive comparison 👏. Did the competitor have any kind of excuse or reason for such a poor result when removing water 💧 compared to a fass system?

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! And that's a great question-we haven't heard an official response from them regarding this issue.

    • @wilddeuce9461
      @wilddeuce9461 ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s no response that can make an excuse for that. I did see one video for the Airdog system where he is saying the FASS water filter separator will leave you stranded and it’s a bad idea. ROFLMFAO! Yeah I’d rather need a new filter than a new High pressure injection system at the low price of $10k.

    So I've been a Dealer with FASS for about 4 years now, I run FASS systems on all 3 of our Diesel trucks. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like if you guys just spent more time on R&D and Builds instead of spending time creating content to bash the competition it would be beneficial. It's childish at best and it doesn't look good from a dealer standpoint. That would be like us posting a video bashing another shop in our area, its just dumb and it doesn't look good from a customers viewpoint. I literally had a customer have me order another companies pump because he didnt want to further finance the "my dad can beat up your dad" mentality.

      We sincerely appreciate the feedback-it does not go unnoticed.
      We strive to provide respectful, data-supported comparison videos, as requested by our customers. Test videos such as this are done to not only highlight the advantages of our systems, but address the dozens of related questions we receive on a daily basis.
      That said, we take input from our customers are dealers very seriously, and understand the point you're making.
      Despite our best efforts, some might perceive this as a "bashing" video, when that's not the intent. However, we are always looking to improve our content, and look forward to producing better videos as we learn.
