    love mine, you are right about how easy it is to rack, my 72 yo mom can't rack any S&W EZ but she can rack this. 9mm ammo is cheaper but this is So much more enjoyable to shoot than any 9mm this size.

    Bought one n already put 200 rounds through it. Recoil almost non existent so easy to keep on target. You can’t beat the cost at $325. Will be my carry gun.

    Education moment here. No trigger safety on any handgun is a gun safety for the shooter. They are ALL, Drop Safeties. This is so that if the handgun is dropped. It cannot accidentally fire. It is not to make you feel safe while the fun is in your hands. Only a manual safety does that. Again, a trigger safety is only for if the gun gets dropped, so it won’t accidentally go off.

    The more I watch videos about this gun, the more I like it. My local gun shop doesn't have one available for sale at the moment, but he brought out the one on layaway for me to try out and I loved how it felt in my hands.

    I’m going to get this for my daughter when she’s older. She can keep a 3-4” grouping at 10-15 yards with a 9mm. I think she’s going to love this one. I like the low recoil and that it’s slightly heavier than some concealed carry options. I like the 15 round options for Americans. Thanks for show-casing this little gem!

    crimson trace has a laser that fits the rail, I own one and just love this gun. 380 ammo is more expensive than 9mm so I practice with 9mm and carry my 380. PS always remember that shot placement is paramount over higher caliber misses. gun control means! being able to handle the recoil and your shots are on target. I carry extra mags when I have my Ruger security 380.

    A 380 is plenty powerful enough for in the house personal protection. Personal protection being 0' to 12'.

    This 380 is very tempting! To me the biggest issue with 380 is the out of wack cost of ammo compared to other calibers which i would peg at about 30% less than 9mm.

    I bought the Ruger LCP for EDC but my wife loves the 380 over her Ruger LCR, chambered in 38 special so i might pick this up as a permanent house gun so she feels secure/safe and confident in her ability to fire the gun she needs.

    I love the Security-9 and have been looking for an easy-rack carry gun with decent capacity for some time (although I can rack the Security-9 and all of the Sig P365 pistols---once they've been broken in---without issue, same thing with the S&W CSX). I'm torn between this and the S&W Equalizer, if I'm totally honest.

    • @AzayBae
      @AzayBae ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here. I wish either the Equalizer was in 380 or the Security-380 had the larger thumb safety of the Equalizer or EZ. I don’t get why companies put out a lot of new guns with thumb safeties that are very tiny.

    This is what I will ask my wife to try at the range next time. She has "limp-wrist" malfunctions with all my micro 380 & 9mm pistols & hates shooting them. They become one shot guns. Bang & jam. Does just fine with my Ruger LCP .22 but for carry a 380 would be better.

      My wife, who is not extremely comfortable with firearms is getting way more comfortable after getting this for her. Easy rack, very low recoil, manual and trigger safety. Full hand on grip but yet small. She will like it!

    So for a first time gun owner who wants a compact home defense gun that's fun to shoot, do I go with this Ruger security 380, Smith and Wesson Equalizer, or Canik METE mc9? Thank you!

      @027MC7 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my opinion, don't get the S&W EZ. Bought my wife one and me and her have had nothing but problems with the GRIP SAFETY. You have to a perfect grip on the gun for it to fire. We practice house clearing drills, running from cover to cover, firing from the ground(dry fire with safety caps) and in real life situations you don't always have the perfect grip. It's going to end up being traded or sold. I hate that because other than the grip safety it's an outstanding gun. Search the web and you'll see lots of people are having this problem.

    I bought my security 380 on 10/14/23 I toke it to the range today 10/19/23 it jammed up 12 times with in 150 shots 2 different brands of ammunition I'm very worried that I have faulty gun.

      Bought mine last week, cleaned and lubed before heading to the range, first 20 rounds no problem, 20-35 single shot, failure to feed. Cleaned the gun at the range, applied a drop of oil to the extractor spring. Last rounds out of the magtech ammo box ran fine. I polished the feedramp and the chamber, will see if that fix the problem. The cartridge did not chamber all the way,. Also will try different ammo next time. Good luck with your. Good thing is Ruger will fix their stuff if needed

      Just went through this with the added hurdle of having mounted a Olight valkyrie light on it..There is a website where you can do a exact comparison of size of 2 handguns, I was able to verify that the Ruger Security 9 compact has identical dimensions where it will be in contact with the holster...I found a match for the Security 9 with light on ebay, wanted flat black OWB Kydex the only one that I could find had the flag on it, don't have it yet so can't speak to quality, but seller has decent reviews, seller is......outlawholstersusa...So I'm guessing most anything made for the Security 9 compact should work...
      Good luck...
