      Many many years ago I ran across an article where someone had a large commercial fish room set up with a single filtration system. They used a similar set up but I could tell it was put together my an amateur. I’m a contractor and had some knowledge and experience and offered suggestions to this person who blew me off. So I decided to prove this person wrong that I’d make a more efficient, less expensive, higher result system. Over a decade later I’d say the system has proved itself! I was very fortunate to work with many different people in the trades who taught me a lot! It’s hard for me to take full credit as all I did was use knowledge passed down to improve on something that’s already existed. Thanks again Biggs for doing this and helping share knowledge to those that search for it!

      This is the exact pump I used:
      3-Speed Grundfos Pump Hot Water Circulator Pump Model UPS15-58FC; 115V
      Around $100 on Amazon. First pump lasted just over ten years. While doing some plumbing in the house I accidentally got air into the system and burned the pump out. I’m sure it’d still be going if I would have paid attention to it. Rest assured, that’ll never happen again.

    Nice to see SA Cichlid tank that isn't the gladiator tank it would be with Central Americans. He's not interested in live plants? Big Swords would look great in there...if the Silver dollars were taken out. Not sure if Parrot Cichlids are plant eaters..never kept those.

    • @themadaquarist
      @themadaquarist  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Hypselecaras and Hoplarchus would decimate any plants as well as and of the silver dialler types. The tank is so deep the lighting he would need to use to make live plants work would be somewhat cost prohibitive to run. Best Best would be a few spotlights but plants are not his thing.
