Question for either of you. How does this deal with speaker/amp impedance mismatches? Some amps or cabs can't be matched identical (4/16, 8/8 4/8, 16/16 ohm etc.), just nature of the beast, especially with older equipment. Does this fall purely on the user to figure out the safest way to match each, or does the switcher somehow compensate and say make everything safely 8 ohm across the board? Everything else is pretty straight forward and intuitive, but I can't seem to locate this info, unless I somehow missed it on the website. Cheers!

I got my KHE 4X2 ACS about a year ago and I cannot imagine living without it now. My only mistake was underestimating my amp acquisition habit. Should have went with the 8x4. Lol. Congrats brotha! And yes, Markus is THE man!
I just bought this because I am also tired of futzing around with cable rerouting and I also love the 4C method for my loops, even with a Kleinulator this is possible, also with my UAOX, everything is made possible and so easy.
The KHE also lets you use one attenuator for all the amps that you have connected. If you have an attenuator with an effects loop (eg Freyette Power Station) you can choose a cheaper KHE unit without an effects loop, and use the attenuators effects loop instead.
This is great solution Robert! A few days ago I integrated a Radial Tonebone Headbone VT into my guitar studio. It allows me to switch between two tube heads attached to the same cabinet. This way I only have to mic the one cab and I have two amp options when driving my Wet/Dry/Wet rig. I really like the capabilities of the KHE and the fact that it only takes up one rack space is amazing. Also, if you want to get rid of your color coded cables look into the Voodoo Lab GCX. You can plug your guitar into it and route it anywhere you like, you can add effects, switch amp channels.
@@taylorelsner6332 Nonsense. There are plenty of good, inexpensive guitars available. Squires, Epiphones, Fender MIMs, Ibanez, Schecters are all perfectly fine. You don't need a $2k Les Paul to make music. Shoot, I even have a SLICK that I bought for $100 that has a P90 in it that I use for all kinds of stuff.

Hey Robert, you ever think about doing a video just explaining amps and some of the most used effects? For example; what does gain do compared to volume, Reverb - large room versus small vs hall. Basically give an example of a song and explain the amp settings on how they achieve the sound. Explain how if you want to get a funky 70's style sound what effects you need to use. To sound like Metallica, AC/DC etc. I know a lot of people don't really know how to get that certain tone they want so maybe a video(s) like that would be beneficial? I have 4 amps, but they are all four modeling amps mainly because when I got started back into taking the guitar serious I honestly had no clue what effects I needed (lol see above video suggestion) plus as a trucker who took his amp on the road I had no room for a pedal board. Right now I am going through a Mustang GT200 - 200 watt 2x12 and I love it, lol now I find out Fender has a new line with the GTX, but for now I am satisfied. I also have two Mustang 3's (anyone interested in buying one?) and then I have a Marshall Code 50. The Code 50 is being used as the speaker for my laptop so I can listen to your sweet intros!! I do use the Marshall once in awhile but the GT200 does everything I need so why bother switching amps lol. I want to get a tube amp someday but for now I am content with what I have, I did buy a cry baby last year only to find out I can't use it on a modeling amp!!
Rob buddy, this is beyond a regular guitar player level. This is some high level studio stuff here. I wish I had so many tube amps that I couldn't keep up with em all. LOL!
Rob, I'll call BS on last piece of gear! I started looking at switchers myself a while back and by the time you convert $1000 of anything to AUD, you're up for a second mortgage. So I bought the parts to make one a while back and just need to find the time to piece it together. The most expensive part was the bloody 1u rack case (about $90) and I had to wait for stuff to come from China. BTW One thing you didn't touch on was the fact all the cabs would have to be the same impedance (especially for the tube amps).
You are a very well versed guitar player man. Very envious of your skill and your awesome rig. But seriously just watching you go through all these sounds and techniques so quickly and professionally shows years of work and learning. Im still always being humbled by other players lol. And you seem like a really nice and friendly guy which makes it better.
This switcher is amazing and looks like it ticks all the boxes. The attenuator insert is a big deal for me as it will allow the use of my Fryette Power Station 2 with any or all the amps and cabs. I'm assuming that the amps and cabs ohms will need to match (ex. 8 ohm cabs and all amps set to 8 ohms). I wonder how this affects things when going to dual cabs. Anyhow, great product and going on my wishlist.
This thing is killer. But instead of using effects loops as designed, I'm going to use that for a cab sim pedal (Blubox) to send a cab sim signal back to my ES8, run that through wet effects, RNDI, and to a FRFR speaker. Then I've got a choice of pedals in front of any amp, choice of amp, then a cab sim signal of that same amp back to my wet effects and to PA. This is gonna be awesome.
Looks awesome! I just got the radial headlight that allows me to control on and off for 4 amps, but not the cool effects loop. I have it into a hum debugger and tuner then into the headlight, the can switch from my main tube amp with my pedal board, a boss katana, a smaller watt tube amp with multi effects pedal, and a really low watt mini amp. Pretty fun to not have to keep switching cables back and forth and I can go with all on a once for a massive wall of sound :)

I like the idea of gear where "it's the only one you'll ever need". Like a hollowbody guitar with humbuckers, piezos and ability to coilsplit. Couple that with a versatile amp, either modeling or something like the ana BlugGuitar which has been shown to be able to re-create many sounds. Of course I say this because I'm a beginner. If I had thousands of dollars of disposable income I'd start hoarding gear too.
Reminds me of going to Best Buy or Circuit City back in the day and trying out all the home theater audio. Switching between receivers and speakers worth more than my 12 year old life.
Would be cool if it had a master volume, so you can change that when switching from the two notes to the real cabs and still keep the amps at 11, like an attenuator of sorts. Awesome piece of gear, maybe someday in the future I'll get one, the GAS is there, but the GAS money isn't. 🤣

Robert, when using multiple cabinets rated at different OHM’s is it safe to use? And if so, if you have 3 cabs in the system that are rated at 4,8 and 16OHM’s in mono then what would you suggest to run the actual head output as?

I love that it has a global attenuator loop as well, so you can have one attenuator and use it for all 4 amps and cabs.

What about when we need to switch in between channels on any given amp? I've got 4 channels in my REV 120 and 4 in my synergy 50W head.

Robert, I must have dreamed it!!! I swear, I remember you talking about the four amps, and how the Orange had it's own reverb! It's as clear as day, the Friedman, the Rev, all the same info, but formatted a little differently. I my head, you were talking about the cabinets being in different areas of the room, and how much of a pain to switch things around that made it. I may be wrong, but if it wasn't you, it was someone who had the same amps, and the AXE FX. WEIRD MAN?

And I won't blow up your channel with more posts, but since I haven't done so, I want to tell you that you were the first person I subscribed to, you're an incredible player, and at 58, I'd love to have you as a teacher! I'm on disability after closing my business after my third back surgery. However, If I can ever afford it, I'll definitely take one of your courses.
