  • In this crochet tutorial, I will show you how to make a crochet bag strap. We recently finished our Mystery Crochet along where we made a picnic blanket attached to a bag. Now to carry the bag we will need a strap to carry it of course. So let's go and make a crochet bag strap.

Anja, you are an excellent seamstress, as well as a very talented crochet designer and teacher. The linings on the crochet items you make are so beautifully done.

The slip stitches to prevent the strap from stretching is a great tip, and I'm finding it very useful for my own strap for my crochet crossbody bag. 💖

Yes, bag straps are very prone to stretching, I have found to my cost in the past Dawn!! Glad it's helpful, Anja x

I like how uncomplicated you make it to create projects and yet they always look so very sophisticated and neat.

This video was extremely useful. My crochet bag straps were bugging me because they were stretching out so much. Thank you for your wonderful tips. I’m going to make my straps using your tricks from now on.

Thank you Anja for this tutorial. I designed my own bag. I used a thermal stitch for the strap. I thought it would be strong enough. It grew over night. So, I tried to give the webbing a try. Its working wonderfuly. 2wks of using my bag. Very strong..I'm thankful.

I just granny squared a 'thing' and decided it was a very large 'take my knitting/crochet' bag. It needs a strap...so here it is! Thank you.

@@OpheliaTalks I'm a knitter but picked up my crochet hooks again. It was meant to be a jacket but the squares are measured across and not diagonally...so it was going to be too small. Not enough yarn to make them bigger. So....a thing it was!! You live and learn...le sigh 😕

I'm going to make my handles starting with the length as I believe this method stops the handles from stretching along with sc.
