Very interesting. I've just done a bit of earth shifting in my garden and fear I have upset some nests. Had no idea they were there of course and there are a handful of bees hovering over the disturbed earth as if they don't know how to get back in
thank you for this close up of the mining bee's life. Since I've had them for years I've always been interested in knowing more about them. I've never been stung, but I do try not to bother them. I've not seen any cuckoo bees, thankfully.

@Al it’s true! This type of bee doesn’t typically do any harm.

Mining bees like most other bees can give a painful sting if disturbed.
these little guys always land on my hands and not once have they stung me
