I lived in a different camper in Banff and Lake Louise and Kenmore for 3 years and lived inside in -40 conditions. It was a bit rough but I made it. Was always lucky enough to be able to find water and had no storage tanks so no need for dump stations
Hope you get to see and do everything you want in the U.S.! Keep the faith.
Thank you so much I really appreciate that!
I appreciate a genuine person instead of the fake van life youtuber we all see. I'm a mechanic and appreciate you fixing ya own shit on tha road. Subbed buddy also jelly as hell bud have fun
only way I could afford to do this is to try to be as self reliant as I can! Thank you!
Hey Kevin, discovered your channel over a week ago, been binge watching. It takes a certain person, you’re very charming, with your smile, chuckle, slight quirkiness, and cheerful personality make for enjoyable videos and a successful channel. Your cooking and baking segments are my favorite part. In time, your channel will bring you more than you imagined. Thank you and keep up the great work.
Hello from Ontario! So glad TH-cam recommended your channel! Loving the content so far Kevin!
Glad to hear!!! Can’t wait to visit your province!!
Hello Kevin, I noticed that you use your water for coffee and cooking. My NORTHSTAR ARROW 8.5 is always put away in storage for the winter. I winterize the camper and water heater with compressed air. In very early spring; I fill my 35 gallon fresh water tank using sanitizer and fresh water. Drive it around to thourally mix well. Drain an repeat with potable water. Drain again and I'm good to go until late fall. By using compressed air to winterize , the only antifreeze is in the trap in the sink and shower. I wanted to mention this, not for you BASEMENT MAN....LOL 😅, but for others with 3 season campers. Safe travels and enjoy life.
Really great advice. I find yours such an enjoyable and valuable channel. Always looking forward to the next video. + no bs or click bait like a half naked gf, just nomadic life as it unfolds, sharing your experience. Thanks & enjoy the snow ❄🚠🎿
Kevin - what a fantastic way to make the day better by watching your videos. They are inspirational and helpful. Love your ability to keep things real. I am close to retirement and am contemplating what kind if rig would work best. Keep up the great videos. Thanks for making the world a better place.
From B.C. YOU INSPIRED ME TO MAKE PULLED APART PORK (WHICH I HAVE NOT MADE IN MONTHS) !! LOVE YOUR EXCELLENT VIDEOS !!
haha! that's great!!
Got my crock pot going right now.
Bake brownies on a ski hill with a little extra ingredient , yes the life lol love your videos🇨🇦❤️👍
As a female I certainly appreciate the "no number 1 & 2's in the parking lot" rule. Thank you for that! I think in the summertime men have it easier with the flexible number 1 rule, but definitely NOT in the white stuff for sure! Also, Black Bear Diner has great meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Stop there if you can while in the Pacific northwest! I don't think I'll ever go camping in a camper or RV, but very good information you shared. I'm retired and just prefer to stay in much warmer climate like AZ 😊I've lived my adventures in my 30's and 40's. Have fun and live life to it's fullest young man! The rest of us live vicariously through your travels 👍
I really enjoy your channel…very down to Earth and no drama. I also like watching the cooking…not sure why but I do. I’ve owned every type of rv, including 4 truck campers over the past 45 years. I tend to like the big 11’ campers. My favorite truck camper was a big 11 1/2’ top of the line Lance. Also had an extended cab over so the bed was huge. That camper was luxurious, loaded, and built with incredible materials, workmanship and overall quality. I loved it. My wife and I now have a huge 45’ luxury diesel pusher w/4 slides, etc. it’s too big and complicated with every gadget. You’re also very limited with where you can take it. I miss the big Lance. Thanks for sharing!
What a remarkable life. Yes, please take us on more snowboarding adventures. Thanks, Kevin.
Welcome to the US Kevin. Love your down to earth show, I don't miss it! K from Washington
If you do use your snowboard as a surfboard, we need video! 🤣 I love watching your videos, as my dad was an avid truck camper guy, good memories. A tip he gave me was to always keep a bag of cat litter with you, to help get you out if you're stuck. I've never done it, but thought I'd share.
Thanks Kevin for another great video!! Very informative. Stay warm and be careful!!
@kevinwaldsadventures I don’t normally comment, but got to tell you that your vids are the best man… great personality, level minded and just a joy to watch. I really like the cooking parts the most but overall great content! I get bummed when u havent posted new vids, heh. Thanks for all you do!
Thank you so much! means a lot to hear that! My schedule is every Wednesday and Saturday. if I don't have one up I always notify in my community tab as to why! Thank you for watching!!
Yaaaay, my lunchtime break treat....Kevin 😊
Kevin my husband and I full time RVed for 12years in a 35 ft Motor Home. We had2 dogs and traveled in Western and Midwest US. We started when we were semi retired. My husband worked from the MH. Your dry fortunate to be able to do this while your young. 😊Really in joy your videos. TRAVEL ON YOUNG MAN
Great tips and greater adventures kev, love your blog...
Enjoyed yet another informative video...hope your winter is full of snow boarding fun...take care
Kevin! Was glad to see your notification for a new video in my TH-cam feed tonight! Thank you for all your tips tonight, especially about the tire load of the truck. I'm learning a lot from you! Hope you're enjoying your time in the States. Looking forward to your next snowboarding fun! See you next time. Take care, and peace out!
Thanks for the video, Kevin. Have a great week! ❤
Great attitude! Great life…
From Calgary, thanks for sharing your awesome adventures! It motivates me to do more camping in the summer. Can’t wait!!
Really good video and some excellent tips and advice. You have a awesome set up with your truck camper. Safe travels man!!
Hi Kevin, great advise mate for anybody who wants to do the type of thing you are doing.
Me personally will keep my narrowboat.
❤ Take care X X X 💕
Great video Kevin.
3:05 is when you break my heart (and the heart of my 22.5 ft fifth wheel). LOL.
lol the best camper is the one you have, get out and make it work!
@@KevinWaldsAdventures I do have a slide-in camper, but it needs some work. 1980 Okanagan. Will use the trailer this summer as my wife won't use the camper with me and I will switch to the camper come the next winter if I can get it fixed up in time. The trailer is WAY more comfy tho.
Welcome to Oregon! Check out 10 Barrel Brewing in Bend. Cool place. Also, check out Timberline (no camping in the parking lot) and Mt Hood Meadows (Sunrise Lot). This is the video content I wanted to hear about! Have fun.
Just wanted to say welcome to central Oregon
Enjoy your videos
In my younger days I skied willamette pass and Hoodoo there much cheaper
Thank You!
Thanks again Kevin for the outstanding video, great information. Hit the pow pow!
Nice video watching from another country
Undecided on which tires going to buy for my f150, but your video shed some light on load rating. Probably going with falken instead of k03's.
Stop and say hey to Casey Ladelle from Cascade Heavy Rescue while you’re there 😀
Interesting and informative!!
I hope you howled with the coyotes and got to shred your heart out on the slopes! 🤘 I'm looking forward to the next video 😊
Hi Kevin 😊
Cardboard would look pretty funny 🤣😅 So Important People to Be Respectful
Great Tips on This Vid
Tire's yikes
Better know that one So happy your enjoying yourself Dang No Cooking 😢😅 Be Safe what did the Red Green guy always say at the end of the Show? 😊🙏❤️
Welcome I so admire Canadians for touring USA. Such good advice for all of us RV'ers! Love your channel
I'm going to rock my trailer for a year or two, but I still think I may upgrade to a bigger truck and truck camper at some point. I didn't want to get a new truck right now though, hence the trailer.
Lots of positives with a trailer too! And I’ve seen people use them at resorts as well so definitely the best option is using what you have!
49 degrees north is a great ski resort in northeastern Washington. Looks like they are ICON. Camping is up at the resort. Great variety of terrain there. Fyi.
Looks great down there. Back home, I’m sure you heard it’s-22C. Enjoy your trip, it’s fun coming along. 🇨🇦👋
My mom’s in Saskatchewan letting me know how cold it is!
I know that it's a pretty personal question, but if you don't mind telling us how much you paid for both of your units?
I want the exact same setup as yours and I'm just trying to figure out how to budget it.
THANKS 🤗
In Canadian dollars. Camper 2001 northern lite 10-2000 12500 just the camper, 2500 for electrical system I installed myself.
Truck I bought in 2021 for 20000 with 130000km on it.
My advice look for a newer gas truck, you’ll get it with less km and more payload than a diesel.
@KevinWaldsAdventures what I really love about your rig is how it's all set up. Four seasons with the basement are good for winter. And I love the fact that you have a shower and toilet and the giant refrigerator and oven.
I have a 1996 Northern Light 8 ft for an import truck. I have a 2003 Toyota Tacoma 4 x 4 with 3.4 V6 and 5-speed transmission.
Only the tiny Dometic trucker size fridge, no toilet or shower 😒
It's a nice unit, but it's two unequipped to live in full time.
I know those Northern Lite campers are very expensive, even used and almost 30 years old. I paid $6,000 for it.
Thanks for sharing that information with me. Happy trails, my friend.🤗
the only thing i have an issue about vanlife travelling is when you have to go to a park tailored to RV's you stick out like a sore thumb, especially while everyone else has their indoor space and you're stuck outdoors most of the time. also, they look at you weird if you want a RV spot for a 15' van haha
lol I was in a bad rainstorm in my jeep and couldn’t cook outside or go outside, 2 weeks later the jeep was gone and I had a truck camper lol I get what you mean about privacy with a smaller set up
Did you ever make it to the Alvord? Did you find the hot springs? I was hoping you would do a video on that experience, if you did.
I did not make it to those hot springs, was about to go there but I had to chase a snowstorm
Thanks again Kevin for the good info. Hello from Prince Edward Island.
Cardboard truck camper 😂 great visual.
Ok so next wed is the TC rally dude, got your ticket? 🍻
I won’t be making it this year 😔 I gave it thought but there too much going on this week lol
Im Really Really looking hard at the Winnebago Ekko.
They look pretty great too!
A sterdy small pee/poo bucket until a composting toilet in my rig, but it's a last luxury buy on the list😅💩
You may have talked about this before but what fuel mileage do you get on the more easy going highways and on a non windy day, as I realize mountain driving and going into a gale force wind is a whole other issue as this is for comparisons sake on an even playing field. Oh and at what speed were your fuel mileages calculated.
Average speed would be 100km an hour and it’s always 12-14 mpg
So many ski areas outlawing overnight camping in the parking lots unless you pay hotel rate fees . PNW
Do you think you could take a 2006 Mega Cab the same places you do today? I think those are basically the same length as a Quad Cab 8 foot. Just wondering if size would be a concern.
I honestly think most places you could
Hey Kevin, Enjoyed it, Dude! Thanks. Please, no Cardboard Campers! lol! Look out for the coyotes and chupacabra! Take care, Stary warm, Be safe!
Haha cardboard truck camper could totally work… 😂
Did you take highway 20 to cross Oregon .. obviously you are not across it period since you are on the eastern side of the Cascades. Definitely highway 20 across from Ontario is a desert landscape, on average highway 26 to the north is the more treed scenic route. I find so many people up here in Alberta assume Oregon is a forest ripe to harvest from corner to corner, how very wrong they are with that visual in their minds !.
Speaking of the Big Foot and Northern Lite camper companies, there is a reason why they look almost exactly alike and although I have been told I have forgotten the whole history but that camper design originated from one company and they had a splitting of the ways. My brother had a long talk with the owner of Northern Lite a few years ago as he was seriously considering buying one and hence why he dropped in at the factory. In the end he decided to keep the camper he has which was also made in BC and in some ways is a nicer camper with more room and features but probably weighs a bit more.
One of the owners left big foot and started northern lite I believe
👍
Your in the Arizona? Desert speaking about ski bumps, very ironic 😅
Well hello beautiful eyes 👀 Kevin I really enjoy watching you amazing video 😊
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words!
So sad to to see that dictators make us enemies,we are all friends!!!
☺👍✨from🇯🇵
Great video like always Kevin! But I do hope you come home soon. Being you're down in America now you wouldn't know this, but Canada is now united against the US in a way neither of us have seen in our lives. People here are done with Americas new agenda and we're all boycotting products and travel to the US. I know you talk to your folks a lot and I bet they will also tell you they've never seen anything like this either. We're essentially at war with America now, at least that's how the majority if not all Canadians look at it. I know that sounds crazy, but I assure you its true. Come on home and spend your money here where sanity is still a part of life. Stay safe down there in the meantime buddy, Canada loves ya buddy! #100ksubcountdown
Stay goofy! 😅 👍🇨🇦😎
@ 70 cents on the dollar - youtubes must be paying well. 💰💸
Hey Kevin I always wanted a truck and camper😢 but because of my health issues I no longer can do the steps in and out of a camper ❤❤❤ thanks for sharing I’m looking into a van where no steps or stairs to use😂😂❤❤❤I still love truck campers❤❤❤
That’s a great reason for a van actually! I never thought of that!
Kevin, enough videos about what it’s like to “live this lifestyle” already! Go out and do something different, get a girlfriend or just change in some way!
Why not just stay in the woods somewhere so you don't have to pay or deal with other folks.
A lot of times the woods has 3 ft of snow and your not getting in or there just isn’t any spots available near the resort
Your kinda hard to follow , as you kinda keep getting of topic. It's better to make aplan about what you're going to cover in the video. Then it will be a lot smoother.
