"Nica's Dream" Emmet Cohen - Piano Kurt Rosenwinkel - Guitar Philip Norris - Bass Hank Allen Barfield - Drums Video Design: Alex Weitz abw-productions... Sound: Kelvin Grant tfsoundworks@gmail.com
Outstanding! So great to see Emmett and Kurt together, power houses. What's wrong with humanity when mindless garbage gets streamed to millions of peoples playlists, and pure skill and talent like this is considered a "musical delicacy". I think you know i know the answer folks.
If memory serves me correctly, Nica's Dream was the first number right out the gate for Philip Norris and Benny Benack this live show - it's a high energy challenging tune to open with, and the whole band sounds terrific! (Sometimes it can take a few tunes for many musicians to feel centered, but not these guys!)🎹WOW
Ok, I get it...,Kurt was getting this very nice sustain and de-tuned fade on his phrase endings and although his 1/16th (and faster) notes were very contained these phrase endings really stood out - I kept thinking he's using a guitar synth...,then I saw the pedal...,hmmmm...,what's he building in there? Very nice - I mean wow nice...,
One great day Kurt must Release an official version of nicas dream in trio or quartett setting, or an album of just 10 versions of nicas dream...the evolution of this is guy is just mindblowing and so amazing to hear how he nails his own style.. fuck realease it with a great sound plz kurt
The full concert video includes a trumpet solo that came first - this clip highlights Kurt & Emmet's fiery playing! It was fun to hop up while those guys were cooking!!
Why's it cut off? We're missing a fair bit from the beginning.
They fucked up the theme 😅

very nice; Kurt seems difficult to follow rythmically. I saw his trio at middelheim on 15/08/2022
Maybe his swing is straightened?
I think he’s got a lot going on his mind
Yeah like a lot of guitarists !
Kurt is playing so modern want to see him with Immanuel
