  • I've wanted to film for some time a runway 27 landing at Telluride. It happens rarely, so this time I had my cameras ready. The flight in my Beechcraft Premier was from Eagle, Colorado to Telluride, Colorado.
The flight plan route was GYPSM5.RLG ETL

Man I love the way those FJ44's sound when you spool up for a departure, and they have quite a bit of thrust for a plane that size.

Can't get enough that approach and landing on 27 P1D! Coming in hot with some bank.....awesome! I've watched this video numerous times.

This is the first time I've watched this video. What an OUTSTANDING approach! I can hear the TRide planners back in the day---"There's a flat spot ...let's build an airport."

      There's a "somewhat" flat spot....

these just keep getting better! I swear I heard your, errrr, "passenger" throw out a JESUS! and maybe even a bit of "my neck" as you closed I gotta say that did seem like a muther of an approach. fantastic video being right there with you is a real joy. thanks again!

Last time I went into T-ride (was in the winter about 6 years ago) I needed several pairs of new shorts going into 27. My radar altimeter basically said "You are crazy, I can't keep up, I am going to my happy place you are on your own" Was getting 1500 feet up and down :( AP was reporting "calm".

All your videos are first class, but this one special because of all those extra data points (ramp weight, fuel burn on ground, Vne, climb 220kts vs 240kts depending on direction, etc). Thanks for sharing.

I live in Colorado Springs and have driven the Montrose Ourey and telluride portions of the Rockies,. Never have I seen it from above. Thank you so much. I am a self-proscribed 'Cloud Junky' I really appreciated your comment about the noise and air across the surface. When I walk into a hanger, I always run my hands over the leading edges. To me, it is a miracle what happens with wind and an airfoil. I refuse to lose this attitude. The book "stick and rudder" is a bible to me. I have read it uncountable times. Just wanted to say thank you and I just wish my life had led me into flying a lot sooner,. I am 67. I have jumped 7 times down at Lake Corpus Christi, 5 statics and 2 free falls. I have about 20 hours in a Grob II in South Texas and about the same time in a fully aerobatic T-34. My flight training has been in a Cherokee 140. I always ran out of money never finished. I jumped, flew the glider, and did the aerobatics just to make me feel more comfortable flying. This is why I consider myself a cloud junkie. Plus, I love the smell of kerosene in the morning! Thanks again for your videos.

Thanks Premier 1 driver for your videos.
It might sound childish, but you make guys like me who have lost their medical , happy.
Quite impressed by your ability to fly solo, and most of the time hand flying during you departure segment.( in the airline industry we are used to making 3 errors per hour .......with 2 pilots in the flight deck)
And impressed by your fuel burn.........I was used to burning 20GAL/hr per engine ( if my memory is good) when flying the Baron 58 out of Dallas love field...great plane!!!!
My "beloved" B 747-400F needed a minimum of 1.2 tons of fuel just to taxy (idle) as an average.....it still sounds to me crazy.
Take care and keep making us happy you and your beautiful bird.
    Cheers from France 👍

Q for Greg. If two planes are coming in about the same time, does the first plane to land wait at the end of the runway since there is little/no room to taxi otherwise?
