    The is the BEST of the Lightbox tutorials I have watched (and I've watched a LOT of them). Thank you for the in-depth and detailed step-by-step instructions!

    I make multi color prints with Fusion and two Ender 3 pros using Orca slicer. Workflow is about the same. However, I make my extrusions into separate components instead of bodies and then I just export as individual STL files. (I usually do single color files as 3MF files.( Then I can stack them in Orca, choose my colors per object, slice and send to the printer. Of course I have to do manual filament changes, and my process is slower, but just want others to know that these boxes are possible on all sorts of machines, not just Bambu printers. I also run klipper on my printer, so my print times are faster than a stock Ender.
    I am going to be upgrading to a Bambu printer at some point this year, but it is good to know that making the change from the the Ender machines will just make this process painless as I know a lot about troubleshooting and fixing prints already due to the nature of the Creality machines.
    I appreciate the video on your workflow!

      Hey thank you and also thank you for that information! I hope everyone that has this question on how to do it on a non bambu printer.

      I build my stuff as separate components and import them as one model with separate parts in Orca. The I assign filaments to each component. Orca sets thebgcode for filament changes and I just do then when the machine pauses. I run klipper, so my pause macronis set uonto move my toolhead to.make tge changes easier. I put in the new color and hit resume. It's time consuming because I have to do it multiple times per layer, depending on the amount of colors and thickness of the components.

    You should consider putting the "*color* folder" bodies into a component instead of a folder.
    Then, export as a .step file to keep maximum quality and you can more easily keep them together.

    If you select the bounding boxe lines and just change them to the dotted Contructuon lines, they won't be able to accidentally extrude 😁👍

    Question: How can we create this in Fusion in a way that it will open in Bambu Studio "face down"? The design I just created via your instructions (great instructions!) has to be rotated 180 degrees in Bambu Studio to get the colors down on to the build plate. Thanks very much.

    • @Josh-fp9nc
      @Josh-fp9nc  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      you could just do all of the numbers in positives. So instead of doing a -40mm offset you would do a 40mm offset for the back plate. You will just have to move your camera around to the other side of the model. Thank you and im glad you enjoyed the video!

    12:28 if you hold shift while clicking ( not in the extrude ) you can select multiple object/sketch lines

      True! But if you are already in the extrude command then you wont have to shift click :)

      if I could add a picture I can show you what I mean it is still not working and I am doing exactly what the man is saying I have tried at least 20 times now do you know if it is because I am using the 30 day free trial?? do I not get all the features??

    • @geauxracerx
      @geauxracerx 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@simplybabette fusion doesn’t have a 30 day free trial. You just choose the hobbyist and use it free with limited active ( 10 active editable designs at any time ) all other features are active. With one caveat simulation and AI generative designs.
      To select all the lines hold left mouse button drag a box over all the lines you wish to select. If this selects more lines than you want; hold shift and click the ones you don’t want you can also hold shift and just click each line you want.

    Amazing!! Thank you. I have seen SO many videos on this, and most assume the viewer knows fusion and all its features. Thank you for explaining things.
    I do like how you create the back and sides better than other videos I have seen.
    Question. What do you think is better? joining the front to the sides with a back plate? Or joining the sides to the back with a front plate? I have seen it both ways but not sure which is better.
    Thanks.👊

    • @Josh-fp9nc
      @Josh-fp9nc  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey thanks for the kind words! I did a lot of tier 1 and tier 2 support so I never want to assume what other people’s skill levels are 😊 I believe joining the front with the sides to the backplate is solid as it hides any creases that would show up front if it was displayed. This way the product has a full body until the back instead of seeing the two parts right after the face.

    Josh -- great tutorial --- however i am stuck on the Extrude -40 , 2 -- yes -- that is as far as i have gotten after countless hours of trying to figure out what on earth is wrong with this SVG. I had others look at the SVG and tell me it is fine. I found a couple of lines i had to delete -- but still coming up with 2 errors for some reason. Is there a program or something that i could put the SVG in to help me find what is causing the errors?

    Every time I try to convert a PNG to an SVG, I’m always having issues with the letters or images being closed. In other words, the letters or object parts bleed into other areas. I am not sure what this issue is called nor how to fix it. Like your video but I can’t get to make it work because the initial SVG has issues.

    2:18 you mist have changed the export Z axis at someone point, because by default the “front” plane is exported as the Z axis. Why it’s like that I do not know, but that’s the default and has been for over a decade.
