You can work on google sheets offline as well. You just have to open your browser to access it offline. there's many videos covering the topic online. Go ahead and check it out.
Many formulas you have in Excel will not work with Google Sheets. Macros will absolutely NOT work with Google Sheets. That makes you unable to do any advanced programming. With that said, DEVELOPER tab or feature is none existent. For corporations: Stay away from Google.
I recently ran into a significant compatibility problem with excel using activex controls. These don't work on Macs and are only recognized in Windows. So trying to develop a more complex workbook for everyone to use I am not trying with google sheets.
You have no idea what G Sheets is capable of, advance programming with scripting and automation is possible on Google sheet. You can even have data automatically updated. Why are people reviewing something they have no knowledge of?
You really should have done your homework on this a little better. Google Sheets is available offline with a browser extension. On Large Worksheets, you should have done more homework on this too. Excel does have more cells available. However, most of these are NOT usable due to memory limitations and processing speed. I simple test proves this. The test I ran was putting 1 single character into all cells within a single worksheet then save it, close it and reopen it. This test fails because the amount of data within the sheet exceeds memory available.
This is true for the Google search engine, TH-cam or Gmail but not for Google Sheets. So if you use these services, it doesn't really make a difference if you use the latter or not. That's why you can actually call it free.
Microsoft Excel is not free 😂 and it's ironic when you said that you are the product for "Google" one of the most notorious tech giants who thrives on the users data and sheet is a jackpot for them.

You forgot to mention community. That's very important. Which one has the best, most active forums? Tutorials? Online help?
I use both. . I use the =split() function on google sheets lots
It's a good one!
=TEXTSPLIT is now available on Excel 365
Um…no. Ever hear of “work in offline mode”? I use it regularly and it works great.

Google Sheets have macros and app scripts (works like Javascript) on its "extension" menu
Boomers use Excel and defend it
@@nsx001 right. somedays, most of coworkers will use Google sheets. I believe it.
Sheets is available offline aswell and is 100x intuitive
Are google sheets and ms Excel formulas same?
Yes, they are basically the same when it comes to formulas and calculations.
I recently ran into a significant compatibility problem with excel using activex controls. These don't work on Macs and are only recognized in Windows. So trying to develop a more complex workbook for everyone to use I am not trying with google sheets.
This is something that I really care about. Thank you for indicating that.
Size does matter 😉
How about macros using VBA?
Excel wins not even a contest, only use sheets if you are doing basic stuff
Sheets > Excel

Well my desktop sheet app works fine offline. Thats little poor to make a video and don't even know that it has a desktop app. 😂
OR. It's a classic symptom of the ADHD brain's struggle with executive functioning :)
Google Sheets is not free. Remember, when you use a free product, you are the product.
also its kinda win win situation isn't it?
Spot on.

"Excel could take years to master" LOL
We all learn differently. ;)
Agreed :)
@@SimonSezIT Exactly what I came here to type.
To "master", yes.
To use, no.
Excel is astoundingly worse than Google Sheets
What about automation of the web version of google sheets and excel?
