Leila. I used google sheet instead of desktop excel because I used a stock macro pull and could just refresh instantly. Each time sheet was opened stock data was live. Thanks so much for your tips on all these. I use MS tricks at work even though I do IBM mainframe coding. Excel is very big as a validator and data extractor
Very nice video indeed. Three (3) great things I learned from here: 1) the scrolling table chart, 2) the open-ended references which allow me to account for future data, and 3) the dynamic filter functions!
Hello Mam ... I have started using google sheets recently for monitoring stocks ... explored the functions which are available through your excel videos [using office 365] ... I am indebted to you for teaching me virtually ... thanks a lot and God Bless You
Never seen someone explain sheet like she did well done I use excel its hard to me to change to sheets but i will try to learn it in the summer nice job
Then you might like what I’m doing: I use IMPORTXML to data scrape sample sentences and synonyms from the web for a given word in a foreign language. It’s incredibly powerful!
Tip no. 3 is very useful since we work in Google drive so we can create a link and share it to the clients so that they can access the data without login into drive👍
Loved the video but not practical for personal use. I’m not saying anything bad, you are great at explaining. I just wish I knew formulas so I could make my own spreadsheet. Thank you.
the data validation - getting a calendar to display helped me fix this so I can do equivalent of the CTRL+; on Android mobile ... which is very helpful for one sheet ...
Really helpful... Now I look at google sheets as a step up from excel except keyboard shortcuts to use menu functions like Alt + H + H = Color Basically it's like while using Google spreadsheets I am again back to using mouse alot ! Which I believe affects overall time taken to complete a task :p
You are a Ninja, and I really like the way you Teach, I need to learn #1 how to make a Search Box, using an Separate Search Sheet, create a box, =QUERY(IMPORTRANGE "ITEMS URL...But I need to return a List with a few Columns Model Number, Company, Description, Quantity, Location Code, This is the IMS format I am working with. Next I need to learn how to use 3 separate Sheets one check in Sheet to use a Cellphone to automatically scan QR codes into a Check in Sheet and the Check IN sheet will Automatically update the inventory on the Masterlist Sheet, and I need to Create a Check out Sheet to Scan QR codes with the Check out Sheet and that will automatically update or SUBTRACT from the inventory on the Master Sheet. :D (I love you baby) :D

Leila, re: embedding a sheet to a web page...can this be embedded into a members site behind a log in? That way it’s still private except to those with the log in? Is that correct?
Hello! Great tutorial. Question- I have a sheet that column B drop down menu indicates resolved as an option. How do I get the “resolved” rows to populate on a new sheet named “Resolved”? (Sheet for ongoing, duplicate request, development issue etc) I’d also like to include a timeline. A form is submitted with a date, I’d like the response (resolved, ongoing, under investigation) to be timestamped with a date count for each drop down option Example - google form submitted Jan 1,2021. Question/comments are reviewed by admin team ( this is where another date can be entered) When the submission is either resolved, cancelled etc I’d like a date count to reflect the date submitted, the date is was reviewed and the date is was closed to count the actual business days from entry to completion (or cancelled etc) to be reflected in a column This to provide the form lifetime. From beginning to end *there are complaints that form submissions are taking too long to get a response
how can we create an automatic table in googlesheet like in Microsoft excel? I think we can only broader the data but can't put table. Please suggest me. :(
I am a finance guy & I use both Excels in my daily work. In Microsoft Excel sheet, we can paste the copied data by pressing Enter. But in Google Sheets, we have to use Control + V. Is there any option in Google Sheets to paste the date by pressing only Enter button ?
What I'm trying to do might be impossible but what would save me hours and hours of time every day is the following. Everyday I update one four digit number sequence to a different set of numbers in a single cell. Each time I alter this number what I would like to happen automatically is further down my page in another cell todays (static) date should be added and then the next time I alter the original cell's data in the same way that day's date should be added in the cell directly below where the first date was added yesterday and so on all the way down. Then I also want each days new set of numbers copied parallel on a cell on the right of the date cells. (It's easier when you see it I realise now then when I'm trying to describe it.) If it sounds like I'm trying to automate something here that's just not possible it'd be great to even know that much. I just have this awful feeling I could saving myself a LOT of time every day since most of my day consists of doing all this stuff for tons of accounts manually.
