    Wow, twice as fast as a jet airliner during take-off, which is about 125 to 135. Incredible speed. Those tires must take a beating.

      I'm guessing it injects fuel into the back of the engine, kind of like afterburners, only for different flame and smoke effects.

    • @bondoman2k
      @bondoman2k 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@billymcnutt116 the truck actually has large afterburners on the engines (from what I heard it's actually only one afterburner that is in place for all 3 engines, but not sure if it's only one or three), originally built and designed by Les Shockley, back in the '90's (the original owner and driver) but are now built and maintained by the Darnells (father and son) that own and maintain the team. Well, now that would be only Chris Darnell Sr. RIP Chris Darnell Jr. :( I actually saw this truck run several times back in the early '90's, when Les Shockley ran it on the dragstrips around the country, against other jet powered vehicles. They stopped doing the dragstrips as much and went with doing more air shows because it was considered much safer).

    I think this is dumb. Why not put a rocket engine on a city bus or a big metal shipping container with wheels? How bout a U-haul van? At least put it on something that has a little aerodynamics to it.
