Welcome to the modern world. I mean, that’s literally what a person does every time they use condoms, cheat on their spouse, hookup with acquaintances…….people know these sorts of activities won’t lead to stable families…and at this point, they’re cool with it.

Even when I was agnostic, I understood that my desire and relations with women were manifestations of my brokenness. It was a cavern that I could never fill and in realizing the pain I was putting others through and viewing women as objects for my own desires I knew I needed to change. The caverns in our life that seem endless be they women, drugs, gossip, violence etc. Can only be filled by the infiniteness of God.

Yes! Same here. Except I never was agnostic, so... the shame... it was terrible, but I knew that as long as it is there, there is hope for me... because it was only the result of acknowledging Truth as Truth (and King!), regardless of whether it flatters me or accuses me... I knew it was my only lifeline. Thank God I never lost it. I'm happy for you, brother. 😊

@@paulburns6110your humility inspires me, and by evidence of my own story, I couldn’t be more convinced (except reminded again) of how God truly fills the heart, as He gave me such profound grace, even when I couldn’t make it to confession before mass, each and every time I went to confession. I had to visit confession many, many times before God broke my chained habit of mortal sin by placing my trust in Mary, a mere yet most blessed creature, by consecrating myself to Jesus through her. I just pray I am given a deeper sense of humility like yours despite not having the need to go to confession as often. God bless you and Mary keep you. Amen.

I used to have no use for the Church’s teachings on sexuality, particularly on contraception. But it does appear that as soon as artificial contraception became widely accepted by Christians many things began to fall apart quickly in the West. It seems a shame that the Church didn’t come up with (better, more effective) Christian sexual education before her enemies managed to psy-op the world through people like Freud and Kinsey. I do believe that in the past men should have been taught better by the Church to abstain from sexual relations at times when this would have greatly benefited women as there were certainly instances when women were pushed (by the demands of pregnancy and motherhood and all that these entailed) beyond their ability to cope. Oh, well. I do see wonderful people like Matt Fradd, Christopher West and Jason Evert who are doing marvelous work in that regard in the present day and I’m happy and grateful -- and hopeful --because they have reached me and are reaching many others, too.

So basically the issue is that we are not only material bodies, like animals, but we are body and spirit, and as such we have higher faculties and our actions are not motivated by natural instincts only, but also have a moral component (use of reason, free will, culpability, moral responsibility, etc.). That's the teaching of the CC. (Also: immortal soul, the image of God, capacity for theosis, and all that - very hopeful in its premise, isn't it).
So as I've understood it, according to Reich's anthropology, it would then rather say, that a man is only material and thus just like other animals, without the higher moral component (and thus without the reference to the transcendental). Quite depressing, actually.

As a 49 y.o. man that stayed committed to not fornicating, but waiting til marriage, i was verbally attacked by coworkers and family members (4 older sisters) since I was a 19 year old in the early 1990s. Are there really other people in this country that truly know and accept in their hearts that pre-marital sex is a serious sin. ? If you read Corinthians chapter 6, God's word clearly condemns it, they will not inherit the kingdom of God. If there are righteous people out there, I did not run into them in 49 years in Seward & Butler counties in Nebraska. Only one woman thought it was a great thing that I was turning down easy girls at work and waiting. She said she had a daughter much younger than me, and I should wait and marry her. Everyone else, more girls/women than men, verbally attacked me. They told me I would be alone the rest of my life and die alone. I guess they were right

That is unachievable without "true worship". He'll tell you if you've made a mistake or not and, if yes, what to do. Doing that would be an act of humility and that's allways good and inlightening. @@alvaroramos7564 you understand 👍 thanks, I was not, through my 20s what they call an incellllllll nowadays. I had 6 or 7 easy opportunities, one girl lived a block from work & said she had handcuffs on the bed & we should go to her place right after work. Another was a very attractive married woman who invited me over, and her intentions were clear, I later found out she had been with a coworker of mine and 6 more of his friends in just a few months. Crazy world, the more I made it my goal to read the whole bible in my early 20s, I had several girls at work making it clear to me they were interested in the one thing , even if not a relationship. And I showed no interest in them, so I was befuddled (another woman at work in my 30s told a Mexican guy due to the language barrier, to tell me she wanted me to get her pregnant, and then a 2nd time later again, I laughed, he told me several times that she is serious). I was befuddled by this because in h.s. it was the opposite, it was clear to me none of those girls would have said yes if I asked them out. I guess as I took church attendance and reading the bible as my top priority in my 20s while 99% of the people I knew where drinking, partying and sleeping around, I just chalked it up (what I saw , or the girls at work offering it up to me) as the devil trying to not just distract but tear me away from God's plan for my life. It wasn't easy 'cause I'm sure I have no shortage of testosterone, and am at the one end of the Kinsey scale for sure. My first date was at 19, but she wanted me to wait around til summer while she sorted things out away at college with 3 other guys. Wt*(?)🤪 Are they all sowing their oats with many before settling down to start a family ? Even by 1993 ,1994 you weren't going to find a girl that...well....."she gets around". After that, I guess I studied their behavior rather than another relationship any time soon, does this one have daddy issues, a few I was afraid just wanted to have a kid at 19 or 20, and they did. This was 1994, I feel I was born many decades too late, well more than one person told me "you belong living 100 years ago, no one waits til they're married anymore". Everyone says you're not supposed to judge. Okay. I'm just not interested in women that have done that with other guys (because of the stuff I heard growing up, I knew from a young age, after couples are married for a number of years, the physical intimacy is infrequent with many couples, they joke about 2 times a year). But women that have been around, huge turn-off for me, go, keep doing what you're doing with more guys if that's what has made you happy in your godless life, I'm not interested, I'm not marrying that type of woman. If you get one shot at it, why would I pay full price for the can of food at the grocery store, that has many debts in it, and when you open it up, the contents are rotten. Explaining how I didn't understand churchgoing promiscuous girls at work, acting like they were normal and healthy and still virtuous (just don't cuss around them, right ?) , I used the damaged can analogy with my sister years ago 😂 it really upset her, so I never use that around women anymore. They just come to work and tell their beer-guzzling and "screwing" stories as they call it, while I turn away and roll my eyes, wondering why I had the misfortune of being born in this time and place. 🙏 God, take me away (I hear the old Calgon commercial in my head, but I talk to God instead ) 😫👈

@@alvaroramos7564 that is what I have stayed focused on. Reading my bible, my relationship with God, what does He expect from me, having high standards for myself. 2 guys from a church or charity were in front of a store awhile back, the one guy said, some people aren't going to feel like they want to be on this earth a long time (like, ready to go to heaven, I don't like it here), because it is a fallen world. I agreed with this man, but as usual you can't share this with other people or they get upset. As far as not understanding people of my generation, and in this part of the country, maybe it's everywhere, but I've heard most of the Mormons in Utah don't waiver on this issue, they aren't running around fornicating. Really, how much time do people actually spend doing the act, marital relations, copulating(sorry), in their lifetimes if you really added up all the time, hours, mintues, seconds. But the amount of time that Americans at least, spend talking about **x is ridiculous. Maybe the younger generations don't talk about that stuff in person, at work etcetera, good for them, , but I turned 14 in 1988, graduated '93, and from 1991 til 2011 I worked in a restaurant that was open til 4 a.m. The amount of time people spent talking about their **x lives, good gawd, get a life. I eventually worked my schedule around (stayed 'cause I liked the work, the freedom, just not the filthy talk, I recently rediscovered Ephesians 5 , hadn't read in a while, wow ! It's clear that gutter-talk is not smiled upon by God), but I got to where I could deal with all the delivery people, but rarely coworkers. I'm not comfortable with people at work talking about that stuff. I don't care for baseball, but please, spend the whole shift talking about baseball instead 😂 True story : A woman at the Phillips 66 gas station I see often there, walked up to me on Friday, wrapped her arm around my waist and said "hey handsome", I was caught off guard and said I'd never heard that before. She talked a lot, I had been having a bad week so I stood and listened, she's not boring I'll give her that. She proceeded to tell me that she & her husband are in an open relationship, they're swingers. Why do they come to me & tell me these things 😫👈 God, get me out of here already

I was listening to an interview with Alex O'Conner yesterday and realised as I listened that if you have a materialist world view then you see humans as "just" animals and that easily leads to the view that vegan / vegetarianism or at the very least ending battery faming are moral necessities. This belief is why Destiny can find it extraordinary that a person can believe having sex with an animal (ie not killing it) is worse than eating it (ie killing it).
I can even see how this material world view - which makes humans and animals equivalent - is used to justify abortion. Even if you concede the humanity of the foetus, you can justify killing it because after all, we eat other animals. So what's the difference?

Everyone should read the Mystical City of God by Mary Agreda and there are the answers of the more fundamental questions we have as humans, it will blow your mind, when we understand why humans were created for and what we are and how important we are, you will live your life honoring that and everything in this world will feel small and artificial compared to our destiny and our fears will go away and you will naturally avoid sin, without any repression or force but with understanding. I relay on the books of the first centuries of Christianity because now Christianity has been washed up and people think is after Vatican II but the most I study, the most I realize that Vatican second is a consequence not a start point, with all the ideological movements since the French Revolution Catholicism became something else totally in a subtle way at first but radical with Bergoglio .

Reich. Hmmm, let me make sure. *Heads over to Wikipedia. Go to Early Life section*
"Reich was born the first of two sons to Leon Reich, a farmer, and his wife Cäcilie (née Roniger). Wilhelm Reich's parents were married by Rabbi Schmelkes on June 4, 1895. Baby Wilhelm was circumcised four days after his birth. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Jujinetz, a village in Bukovina, where his father ran a cattle farm leased by his mother's uncle, Josef Blum.
His father was described as a jealous man. Both parents were Jewish"
Every. Time. Curiouser and curiouser that ever social movements, revolutions, social upheavals, banking institutions, entertainment, subversive academic "breakthroughs" away from natural order etc are always spearheaded or at least one finds that lot of the leg work and writing and financing has a majority of peoples from a certain chosen tribe behind it.
