- Are Taxis in Singapore charging a fair amount? Let's find out! Taxi scams or taxis overcharging tourists is a big problem in many other southeast Asian countries. It is the same in Singapore?

What a humble, kind and friendly taxi driver. It's always great to use a metered taxi as one pays according to what is written on the meter...no scam ! Thanks for sharing this informative vlog, Ken. Good day.
Some people are able to claim transport fare from their company so they do get the receipt from the taxi driver.
That taxi driver was so friendly and couldn’t have been fairer. Meter taxis are the honest way to go. Nice to see you are enjoying Singapore so much.
Even then, meter taxi prices can be manipulated badly when you are stuck in a heavy jam.
Interesting video shared today, Ken.👍
Kudos to the Taxi Uncle, Ambassador of Singapore!
Merlion Park from that taxi stand is just a 10minute walk, and you would be able to walk along the Singapore river and see the landmarks along the way, no way any local would take a taxi for that distance
Was in Singapore in February and used taxis to get around found them great prices and value very helpful,
I don't know why Singapore gets a bad wrap. I thought it was an awesome place and yes the GP would be great to see
World most expensive country to buy a car but taxi & ride hailing ride fare are way very low comparing to other countries like Japan, Australia, London & the list continues.
Have anyone ever thought about it, driver daily overhead such as rental/lease, petrol, carpark and many more.... everything are getting expensive but fare most of the time are still pathetic.
For driver, more daily trips plus longer working hours. How to have work life balance like that?
Western tourists also wonder and ask driver how they earn with low ride fares in Singapore.
Strongly agree. I pity the taxi drivers and their family. Lousy taxi union. Their fare is slavery.
Can you pay with credit card for taxis?
Just curious, do you have to book a taxi in advance from Changi airport to the city? or can you just go outside and take a taxi? Thank you
You have both options. Fixed price booking via Grab, Zig or Gojek. In fact all 3 options mentioned, there's a choice for metered too. Otherwise you can queue for cab at the airport with surcharges applicable. Price wise, it depends on traffic and environmental conditions.
In my experience, the wait time was 0 seconds, a gentleman at the terminal exit door will point you to the taxi and you go immediately. Metered, very cheap. Might differ depending on season, time of day, etc.
Just did it for the first time arriving for my short vacation.
Pretty damn simple. After landing all you have to do is follow the taxi sign and then someone will be there giving you a taxi that was already parked immediately. It was really fast and simple. Don't know about the fare tho. I heard they do apply a special fare for taxi departing from the airport. Could be wrong.
@@illExootik Exactly my experience. No hassle, no scam like Europe.
@@pakan357 Man I swear I was asking myself too much question about transportation to my hotel. Simple as fuck.
OMG,I have heard your accent before but can't pin point the country, Swedish, Finland??? Where have I heard if frommmm........😢
Ken is from Germany
The fare is slavery. 😢
But they can lie about making more money like they can take you to a longer way
I don't believe that, Singapore is a country. Rather it is a city of Malaysia and it should be.
