    Seems like a baller shoe for the winter months and sloppy conditions! Fantastic honest review Steven. Question, not sure if I missed it but is there a place to clip a gaiter on to?

      Thank you, Sage. There is n gaiter clip, but I have been clipping it on the the first lace at the bottom.

    Whenever I hear the word “goretex” I immediately think of George costanza saying “it’s Goretex. You know about goretex?” 😊

    The triple black goretex is really cool. I just really wish Hoka had a wide version to these.

    Nice review Steven. I got the non-GoreTex version last month and have been really happy with them so far but think they will do best as a summer trail shoe

    Great review man! I loved the Challenger 5 and 6. Is there a reason you pick the Challenger over the Speedgoat or another GTX shoe for your winterrunning? The SG would be more for that agressive winter/snow you would say. Cheers man!

    • @UltraTrailSteven
      @UltraTrailSteven  ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally do not like the Speedgoat 5 very much. It has excellent t grip, but the midsole is too soft, and the upper stretches quite a lot.

    • @a1naruth
      @a1naruth 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Except the price, there is no thing better in challenger over the speedgoat. SG is softer, better cushioned, it has vibram outsole. It is just better in all conditions

    Great review! I'm wondering, do you think this would be a good shoe for running on gravel trails or should I look elsewhere? That's where I will be running for 90% of the time.

    • @UltraTrailSteven
      @UltraTrailSteven  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well if it’s going to be wet or snowy, then yes. However, if you are just looking for a good shoe for running all the time, then the regular Challenger 7’s would be better.

    what do you think between the non gtx HOKA challenger version compared to la sportiva akasha II ?
    Which is overall better choice and why?
    Hoka kinda looks much softer but on the other hand akasha looks very durable
    which would you choose?

    • @UltraTrailSteven
      @UltraTrailSteven  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Two completely different shoes. You said it, the Hoka Challenger 7 is higher stack and way more cushioned. The Akasha II is definitely more durable and more of a mountain running shoe, whereas the Challenger is a road to trail shoe.

    I love HOKA and use their shoes a lot, but I do not recommend these shoes. The fit and feel is nice but within the first month of me wearing these shoes the goretex grew holes at the crease lines and the inner back heel material ripped almost instantaneously. I hope Hoka fixes the quality of this shoe as I love how it looks and feels but does not stand the test of time.
