@@grimmpoetics313 Well, I guess we all have our own tastes, but I respectfully disagree. They couldn't fight Go'A'uld forever, and the Ori were pretty intimidating to me. I thought they introduced some interesting talking points about free choice and religion that probably could have been elaborated on if the show had gone past Season 10. I also really liked Vala and Mitchell and thought they helped refresh the show a bit, although I do think some of the original characters would have naturally gone on to different things if it had been like real life. Teal'c would have been fun to see as the leader of his people and dealing with those headaches (we did get a tiny taste of this but I wanted more), Daniel really should have gone to Atlantis, Carter should have just been the team commander instead of co-leading with Mitchell, who could have just been the new dude. But I do understand the show runners wanting to keep as much of the OG band together as possible.

I wish Jonas had come back for the Ori arc. Not as a full time but maybe as a guest in a few episodes. Helping the team as an archeologist on the Ori would have been fun.
I kinda miss this series. I would love to see a reboot set in the SGC with some new teams from different countries. Maybe follow some SAS or some Canadian Special Forces as well as the usual USAF team.
Given the state of modern Star Wars and Star Trek I would be worried about what they would do to the series. However if the producers were faithful to the themes of the show it would be great to have more Stargate.
This is an excellent summary of the series. I seen the movie in the theater and subscribed to Showtime to watch the series. It is my all-time favorite series. The only issue I have with this video is no mention of the ancients. I mean you talked about several incidents concerning them but that's about it. The Ancients are the reason for the entire SG universe. Otherwise very good video.

You had a bunch of takes I was very against but then you sung the praises of the Ori arc hard and I am on board again. Season 9 especially was fantastic in it's ability to feel like everything we gained over 8 seasons was picked apart, especially once the Ori gained a proper foothold.
I absolutely love the OG movie, it´s my comfort along with the first Mummy with Brandon Fraser or the good ol Starship Troopers. And I absolutely love the SG1 tv series, it´s my go to when I am painting my 40k.
I don't think I have ever heard a worse take than what you have presented on the death of Janet Frasier in Heroes. First and foremost let me say that her ROLE was the only thing about her that was "recurring", because her talent as an actress and her character within the show was MAIN AF! Her loss in that episode was gut-wrenching to say the least! Yes, they used story telling manipulations to lead to you towards certain conclusions, but that was what made the reveal so damned impactful. That is not a bad thing, that is damned fine story telling. You know that it has to be someone significant for the SG-1 team to respond so viscerally to the loss, and the natural assumption is that it was one of the main team members, sure. However, the turnabout being the death of Dr. Frasier was quite simply, masterful. You seemed to have missed every single point the episode is trying to make for the sake of a pretentious, contrarian opinion. Additionally, the turn of play with the documentary team led by Emmett Bregman was a master stroke in and of itself. He is such a slimy little twerp at the onset of the show and through most of it you find him quite distasteful but by the end, he reveals himself to be a man of truly high character and his flaws were the combination of his work ethic coupled with the forcefulness that he required because he knew he would be at odds with everyone he was interviewing.
He has done the same thing with other Retrospectives, the Star Trek one had completely ignored valid arguments about the "forced diversity" issues, the visual reboot ,fan backlash and declining writing quality of the modern shows in comparison to the older ones. I completely agree with you on Janet's death in "Heroes" it was perfectly written to misdirect the audience and her death held weight in that episode and why the job Stargate Command was doing was so important and why it should be documented. Sometimes it makes you wonder if he even watched some episodes, Teal'c's turn in Children of the God's is explained with 3 subtle scenes, it didn't come out of no where.
This main storyline had to end for a simple reason: with the pace of progress, the "good ol' American know-how" would turn Tauri into rulers of the universe. 🤣They casually travelled across galaxies, defeated ascended beings in the last series and received all technology and knowledge from the literal Viking gods!
When did u watch this show? Many of your criticisms fail to recognize what you think is "a trope, O'Neills type of humor, or a worn out plot line" was none of those things in 1999. I feel like u may have watched everything recently and don't appreciate it was relatively original- as for example your "archetypes" analysis ... that terminology and this type of analysis didn't even exist in 1999,
It was a pretty incredible show. As amazing an actor as Dean Anderson, my favorite was Michael Shanks. I think he might be the most skilled actor I have ever seen. He played his part so well you couldn't even tell he was acting most of the time. His performance just felt so real.
20:04 this episode made me cry & my mother & friend were worried because I don’t cry. This show man, it activated every emotion I can think of somewhere in the series. Another tough one was when Daniel suffered the effects of using a sarcophagus too much 😢. 25:01 this is the worst, out of character Daniel episode. He knew those symbiotes were sentient but he did not yet know that they have the genetic memories of their ancestors so if the symbiote is evil, all their kids will be evil. As far as he knows, he just shot up a kindergarten class. He displays a xenophobia that only happens one other time. However the target is an ancient known evil’s (Anubis) experiment child & even then I thought it was out of fear of repeating past experiences trying to save creatures from other humans (like the evil chick from the underground prison planet or Reece the first Replicator)
Anyone whose ever served in a uniform, be in military, fire, ems or law enforcement... knows that O'Neal behaves like your average person in uniform who has been doing the job for a long time. This is why he resonates so well with people who serve.
Both SG-1 and SG-U ended similarly with Unending and the Novus episodes showing more character development. Also reminds me of how Star Trek Voyager ended with Endgame when Janeway didn't like how things turned out with the crew and changed the timeline. I love all three of these.

He gets so many things wrong with the latter seasons...
I love this show so much, i literally named my self after it.
I really really miss this show. Was my fav growing up. ❤️
VERY good content, very much worth a subscribe 🙂
Goodness me, this is a surprise to be sure 👌, but a welcome one.
Really enjoyed this. There's a lot to pack in but you do it seamlessly.
I always thought that teal'c had his pivotal moment in witnessing the implantation scene in combination with what he saw from the tau'ri personally
A lot of it is implied in the watch scene where Teal'c looks them up and down and judges their technology level
Annnnndddd that's a sub from me. This is excellent.
Always fun to watch a documentary about a documentary.
Thank you!
Fantastic video
Wonderful brilliant television…
im ready.....were ready....lets go!
'Supercut' worked as expected. Now to binge your other Supercuts
Ahhh Stargate, the GOAT of SciFi
Thank you for making this.
This show was my childhood into adulthood. I used to have Stargate and chill before the Netflix & chill lol 🤣
Anyone whose ever served in a uniform, be in military, fire, ems or law enforcement... knows that O'Neal behaves like your average person in uniform who has been doing the job for a long time. This is why he resonates so well with people who serve.
Thank you.
Kinsey... No 'L'! *shows two fingers* ;-) There is another Senator Kinsley, and he even has a sense of humor...
Both SG-1 and SG-U ended similarly with Unending and the Novus episodes showing more character development. Also reminds me of how Star Trek Voyager ended with Endgame when Janeway didn't like how things turned out with the crew and changed the timeline. I love all three of these.
