my college reveal 🔱 aka how i got into ucsd !

hello hello!
if you really think about it this is technically the last episode of collegebound!! omygosh.
i don't think i'll be ending the collegebound series here though bc there are still a number of videos i want to make about college & decisions & the whole after-committing process that are important to document too! but man making this decision deserves a moment.
i'm officially committed to ucsd & will be attending revelle college in the fall, studying human biology!! frens over on my instagram have seen this announcement a while back but i wanted to update y'all youtube frens too ;-)
i'm very very excited for the next four years and to see how i'm going to grow and change! but above all that, this season has been a chance for me to really reflect on the immense amount of things i can be and am grateful for - from family to friends to teachers to my school and every single stranger-turned-friend that i have come to love in the last 12+ years of my school career.
i hope this video is helpful in some way to somebody out there - but please do remember that going to a "top rank" school does Not define you whatsoever. you are so valued -- no matter what !!
and also please keep in mind that everything i say about college admissions in this video should 100% be taken with like,, half a grain of salt because i'm really no expert hehe

- what other schools were you accepted to? eg. u of washington, uci, ucla,
- are you an international student?

hello!! thanks so much for your questions :))
awards: i put down high honours (school-wide) & i was a finalist for a national writing competition
other acceptances: uw seattle, ubc, uc irvine, wheaton college, baylor, pennstate, pepperdine [waitlisted to uc berkeley and ucla]
and yes ! im an international student from shanghai, china

Do you still need to take sat for uc right now? Since they don’t consider sat anymore

UC’s don’t take the SAT/ACT anymore, but i’ve heard that it’s still good to take it if you can. i only ever took the ACT, but my writing/reading score from that test helped get me out of having to take the writing placement exam, haha :)
