Hua Chenyu is such a great performer. I'm glad you finally reacted to him. My favorite song of his is Fake Monk. I also love an old Chinese song that he made new called Nanping Evening Bells that he did with Su Shinding it's amazing!! I'll be happy to watch anything of Hua Chenyu's that you react to.

Hua Chenyu is awesome. He's THE KING while on stage but he's almost a completely different person off it, though he's improved tremendously since becoming one of the 4 co-hosts in the variety show Ace vs Ace seasons 4 and 5. He's become happier which his fans are glad. Me too because I always detect a tinge of sadness in all of his songs. I'm 54 and have never liked rap but if Hua does it, I'll listen. So fast and furious yet his pronunciation is so precise. Every word is clear. As everybody has said, Hua has millions of fans all over the world. It's not just his music but also his personality that's appealing. It certainly drew me in. He's very courteous, always bowing 90 degrees, on and off camera. He's very soft spoken. He's extremely shy. He said he grew up on his own on a travel show and nobody understood that till he explained. He didn't elaborate much but it's known that his parents divorced when he was 2 years old and he lived with his Father who I think had a difficult time adjusting. So he worked non-stop, leaving little Hua on his own, literally growing up on his own. His family is quite well-off so his father would send a nanny but he chased them away so he was really lonely. Hua was sent for music lessons and luckily he developed a liking when he realised he could release his pent emotions through music. He's well trained and he graduated from the Wuhan Conservatory of Music. He was still in school when he won the Superboy singing competition in 2013.

Hua has been acknowledged by many of his 'elders'- people who are very experienced and been in the profession for many years. One of his best friends is Lang Lang, the world renowned pianist. In a recent variety show, Lang Lang chose to dress up as Hua. Complete with the ripped jeans and Hua's signature streak of red paint under his left eye (though Hua has it under his right eye).

Hi Tauri. So glad that you found Hua Hua. I thought you would like him because he is unconventional and "Nunchucks" shows his versatility. People below have filled you in nicely. He is the most creative artist I have ever seen. I think he is a genius; he can rearrange a song within 24 hours and make it his own in a competition. I think that he has no genre- he sings whatever he wants , often personalizing the songs. Some of his performances are more art (eg. "Fake Monk") than emphasizing vocals, and every song is different, so don't expect to hear the same type of song the next time. In his first audition as a young teenager, he sang a lyricless song! One judge hated it, one was confused, but the third judge (Laure who sang the Michael Jackson tribute with Dimash in the 2017 Singer competition) recognized his creative talent and challenged him by singing a spontaneous lyricless song with him to show the judges his ability, so he passed the audition. The rest is history.
Enjoyed watching your reaction to Hua. He's so versatile as you have seen. There are so many performances to pick from and everyone has their favorite of favorites. From Singer 2018, Child and Fake Monk with pre performance interview are extreme opposites of style. So glad you discovered Hua Hua. He is a genius at writing and rearranging music. I think one of the comments most heard from reactors is "You never know what you're going to get with Hua Chenyu". One thing, it's always amazing. Sometimes he has you on your feet moving your body and at other times the audience is so entranced there ia no sound other than Hua Hua and the musicians. You won't hear many love songs from him but when you do, they're straight from the heart so bring tissues. When you get to Fake Monk, please watch the interview before. I love him and I love Dimash. they both bring beautiful and different crossover styles with their individual signature for our entertainment. Unlike some viewers, I don't feel the need to diminish the greatness of one artist over the other, would rather sit back and enjoy professionals like Hua Hua and Dimash at work! wonderful reaction Tauri.

I have followed Dimash since I am singer 2017, then discovered Hua Chenyu the following year on that same show. He is so different from anything we hear in the West, Every one this songs is different. I am 75 year old UK lady. Check out Tengri singing Heaven from 2018 too. He does a duet with Dimash at some point.

By far my favourite artist, he is very versatile and gives so much diversity. Every song he releases is almost an entirely different music style but yet it has a “HuaHua element” as I call it. Really the perfect artist for me, because he is really unique compared to others. It’s my taste of music.
