Sir great video Thank you. I just wanted to say that in 1962 when my uncle taught me how to do lace he would spray a low tac glue on the lace. That holds the lace without tape and helps stop paint creep. I am watching your videos as I just picked up a late 60s peddle car and I'm painting it for my first grand daughter. The paints are nothing like when I started. Lots to learn and she's crawling so I better get working. I'm going to lace the bonnet and pinstripe the boot lid. Thanks keep well.
I like the fact that your shop is far from the perfect paint booths with tons of expensive equipment we see others doing similar work in yet you still get great out results. It makes it seem reasonable that this could be done at home
Friend of mine was going to do this to his bonnet back in early eighties. Really effective. Seeing you spray and get defects that you correct make me feel better about my own repairs. You’re all brilliant.
This is a great beginners guide for zero experience guys like me who want to give it a go. I will be recording whatever I get up to for my small TH-cam channel as well. Plan is to do the roof of my “only one in the UK” Canta LX micro car, and if that works….. maybe more. Thanks for taking the time to record and share this.
Now, if you had put a candy blue or clear blue over the black, and then the clear coat, it would look even better since the contrast wouldn't be as big. Still looks very good

Thank you. It's all definitely doable in your own garage :)
My nan would have been mortified - you didn't even iron those nets! 😁
Next week, Steve shows us how to tie-die an MX5.
Maybe just the boot 😁

Great video thank you for sharing. Question, if you left the netting down and then clear coated, would it give a 3D’ish effect?
