The video from last class (10/19 before quiz) did not work. But it was only some review of Redox reactions and a short intro to Thermochemistry. The Thermo introduction was pretty much repeated today.
Started with introducing Thermochemistry, progressed to what makes reactions absorb or release energy (it's all about breaking/making bonds). Watched a video of H2 + O2 reaction forming water (explosion) Introduced the First Law, introduced Enthalpy, Talked about the Change in Enthalpy (delta H is the HEAT part of the first law, as long as pressure is constant. Talked about thermochemical equations. Talked about how enthlalpy depends on amount. Solved problems from Activity 1. Started Calorimetry with Activity 2 and started to do the problem on Calorimetry Introduction handout.
