If you took accutane, in hindsight if red light was available would you have chosen that?

Totally, but my insurance back then wouldn’t have covered it. Accutane left me with permanent dry eyes.

Excellent review, Dr. Portela. I have been researching alternatives to Accutane for my two daughters, who suffer from persistent acne and late-onset acne. There have been studies on photobiomodulation therapy for many indications, but, to your point, larger, controlled studies are needed. I found your video while looking into using RLT or NIR in conjunction with Accutane. It appears it is not recommended until further research is conducted. Since NIR penetrates ~3cm to 4cm, do you think it has the potential to be used as a maintenance treatment if 5 Aminolevulinic acid is not used in conjunction with it?
