I shoot professional portraits and headshots and I love this lens. Decently fast focus on the XT3.

    Welcome back Randall.
I agree with you on the 1.4 vs 2.0, having owned both. The 1.4 does have a different look even at the same apertures. Since I don't really shoot in low light, and all my paid work is corporate, I couldn't justify keeping the 1.4 as the 2.0 has a slight size/weight advantage and quicker AF on my XT-20/XT-2's. The 1.4 got a lot of use for fun stuff like street fairs before we all got locked in our homes, but I really didn't need it and hate having gear sit around. Even the 2.0 plays second fiddle to my TCL for everything but paid work.
Now if I were 20 years younger and still doing promo shoots for night clubs...I would have definitely kept the 1.4 or hounded Fuji to release the 33 1.0 they teased.

Hi. Will this lens greatly improve the image quality? I have the fuji XT200 with the 15-45 kit lens. Will the fuji 35 mm be a great upgrade? Thanks!

Hey bro thanks for the vid. Dope work on the edit and production. Keep climbing. I’ve Been watching entirely too many videos about the XT four and different lenses over the last few days and it’s cool to get a fresh take from a “rising” channel like yours. I own a x100v and I’m plunging on the XT4. Mainly for video (at least when I did professional work it was studio video work - check my other channel high off life tv) so I feel like the 16-55 would be the move but I can’t swallow that $1200 cost of a pill mainly because of the weight, size, and 2.8.
Yes there is a question in this long rant...wait for it...
So now I’m thinking of holding off on the zoom and getting either the 35 1.4 or the 35 F2 just to get the job done. In your opinion can the 35 1.4 track well in a controlled or studio environment in free hand video (moving tracking a stationary object or person)? Would you spend the money on the 35 1.4 or go 35 F2 XC + say a 16 2.8 to add to your kit ?
I do LOVE the character of the 23 F2 on the x100v. I’m shook I’m not gonna get it with a 2.8 zoom
Thanks and keep up the good work

thanks, as shown in the video the 35f1.4 does ok'ish tracking moderate movement..i dont have the 35f2 but i'm willing to bet (based on my experinece with my 23f2 and 50f2 )that it does a lot better.. from what i understand the xf35 and xc35 are identical except for build quality

@@randallherreraNyc No doubt. I rigorously tested my X100V auto focus today and I can hear and see it hunting. I imagine any of the problems that are under F to maybe the same or worse. I’ll probably just go with the 35XC just to have it What did help with the hunting is actually setting the custom range of the auto focus and I didn’t really hunt at all after that
