Right? Like that was the whole point of ASMR in the beginning was unintentional sorts of sounds and motions that come along with various actions. Then people just started tapping on stuff and squeezing things for an hour and calling it ASMR
@@lbgonpokeit I think when they're trying to discover nice sounds it's fine because it's often gentle and open to being entirely random and unintentional. But too many ASMR creators now are way too rhythmic, and imo, repetitive sounds aren't ASMR inducing...like...at all. Like those "fasting tapping" videos, or that nonsense fad of "making and breaking the pattern". And sadly that's what a lot of bigger mainstream ASMR channels produce these days. It's why I stopped watching a lot of them. They all got sucked into the tech race, bought some Røde mics and started rhythmically tapping on a jar for 5 hours 😅

Hey SRP I just wanted to say thank you for still continuing to upload as you have been these past years. I always look forward to dozing off at the end of the day whenever I get a notification that you've posted a new video. They've all been super helpful and relaxing and the quality just keeps getting better and better. Your videos and your voice have helped me at least get some good sleep during tough times in my life these past few years. Also your love of gaming is very relatable for me personally and I think it's awesome to see a professional (especially in the medical field) to be still open about their love for gaming. Kudos to you man. It's truly inspiring. Sorry for the long message but I just rly wanted to convey my appreciation. Thanks again SRP!
Man the N64 was something else. Summer ‘99 I was living with my aunt in a little place called Quinton. I used to walk to my mate’s in Oldbury every day to go play Zelda and Turok.
I love the timing of this. I've had a few days off in between work projects and have been playing a lot of vintage games. Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest and Cool Spot (SNES). Also, Dr. Mario and Yoshi's Story (N64). Not exactly vintage, but also The Last of Us: Remastered (PS4).
@@Azchk I'm glad you asked. the sensor bar only has two pins to connect. those are only used for power delivery. that means there is no data transfer between the console and the sensor bar at all. the wii remote on the other hand uses those IR emitters as a reference to know its own position. it uses that information to tell the console to move the cursor etc.
No word of a lie, the most relaxing video I have watched for a long time. Perfect pacing, soft speaking, button presses were perfect not too soft not too harsh. You are doing an amazing job, thank you!
What a great idea for a video and once again thoroughly interesting, yet relaxing at the same time! My own console history is quite short (by number of consoles) and starts with the SNES. We didn't own one ourselves, but friends and relatives had them and so we still got quite a bit of game time in. N64 was our fist own console and to this day remains my favourite. Probably a view clouded a bit by nostalgia, but I stand by it. Still remember all my favourites: Mario 64, Mario Kart, GoldenEye, Turok 1+2, Smash Brothers, Rayman 2, Rogue Squadron and of course what is still the best racing game ever: F-Zero X. We got a GameCube a few years later which we had a lot of fun with (esp. Smash Brothers Melee!), but it doesn't hold quite the same level of memorability. I went over to the PC camp in the 2000s where I've resided ever since. I got a Switch two years ago though, for the occasional game night with friends or family and it was well worth it. Other than that I have some reasonable experience with PS1 and PS2, since my best friend owned those. However, with later Playstations or any of the Xbox varieties I've had little contact. Such is life.
Ready 2 Rumble, Tanks, and The Star wars racing games were some of my favorites. I was born in 95 and my mom loved video games and loved to watch her play the Nintendo
Like this comment if you want an antique roadshow inspired video where he appraises a few antiques. Maybe a piece of jewelry or a watch, a tea set, and then a small piece of furniture or possibly a jewelry box.❤
8:32 this is so soothing, although I'm guessing that should've been 101million units sold and not 101? 😂 Love your variety in content, keeps me coming back.
Could you do a top 10 ASKR list of your 10 personal favourite games of all time with you detailing the game and telling us why it’s on your list? I think that would make a great video!
That Model of the Nintendo Wii is quite valuable/collectible. It's the first model (witch is literally half "Gamecube") all of the models afterward removed all the backwards compatibility.
Best console pads imo were the saturn ones (at least for fighting games) and the best pad for FPS is the xbox elite ones. The N64 pads had a charm to them and I enjoyed using them back in the day, but they were not very practical at all.
N64 will forever hold a place in my heart. I loved playing Pokemon Snap and Banjo Kazooie and Twooie on it. GameCube was the best for Mario Kart as Double Dash was brilliant in it's unique tag team driving feature.
I love your cooking videos! Please do more of them 🥹. I also think an MRE opening and tasting video would be fantastic. It would suit your slow, steady, and descriptive style.
You have one of the best ASMR channels, but I humbly request you TURN UP the audio! Your videos have been getting quieter and quieter lately, which forces me to turn up the volume, and then I get blasted by ads at 900 decibels. Keep doing your amazing work just please consider exporting audio consistently at higher levels. Thank you, much love!
Ticklish thought that I’ll not be able to rest until I share… The PS2 could be used flat in a ‘set top’ style or vertically like a computer tower… The logo on the front of the optical drive drawer is able to be rotated so that the ‘PS’ could be in the correct orientation!
I like that you were super gentle with the button presses. A lot of ASMR videos go a bit mental with it and it stops being relaxing.
Absolutely. I’m careful like that. Like Gus Fring.

Weekends with the lads playing goldeneye splitscreen on N64... the place where boys became men. It was a golden age.
Growing up through Goldeneye and Perfect Dark and then graduating to Halo 1-3 was a blessed time in split screen basement gaming with the boys.
All fun and games until someone picks Oddjob
Did all of this with the lads. Late night GoldenEye. And Oddjob was a favourite
I was undefeated in 1 shot kills with pistols only in my group we used to play for Days on end
Thanks for all the help getting to sleep!
These videos in which you share things from growing up are great. Like the CDs and books. Good job man. 👌🏻

great video and I agree the Wii has the best button sounds

10:21 fun fact: if the sensor bar is broken or missing on nintendo wii, you can use a pair of candles as a substitute.
What??? How would that work?

@@proCaylak Ahh that's right, I forgot the "sensor" was actually in the remote. And not on the "sensor bar". Yes very intuitive indeed.
Iirc it's more accurate with the candles? Just something I've seen said occasionally online.
