Thx for your videos, very useful. Luminar chose to rename it to Neo, to pretend that this is a new or completely revamped software, so they could charge users again instead of paying less for un upgrade to Luminar AI v2.
That sounds about right :) In fairness they didn't charge much for Neo. During their sales both products prices were practically the same. Very strange!
Pardon me, could you talk about the sharpening engine and the quality of this Luminar Neo/AI vs De Facto brand such as Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop? Or any other brand if you ever used so far for comparison. Would like to know how the sharpening details this Luminar Neo/AI can produce. Cheers.

Hey great video. What would you recommend for my first buy on photo editor software. Luminar neo, On1, or luminar ai.
I personally prefer on1 but it has more of a learning curve but has more features. If you want easy editing go for ne. Do download the trials to get a feel for what you prefer
LuminarNeo is easier to use but ON1 has more features. I'll be uploading a video with more details on this. Watch out for that!
Hi what would you recommend between ON1 Photo RAW, Luminar Neo and Pixelmator Pro, keeping in mind I already own Affinity Photo (not for photo editing but for Photoshop type work). Going a little nuts trying to decide. Have heard good and bad things about all three. While I am a beginner and currently just use an iPhone, all of that will hopefully change soon. Plus, I think I really enjoy editing. ON1 seems perfect but I read somewhere that they keep trying to shove updates down your throat. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance!
Hi accentontheoff. If you primarily edit in RAW I would go with on1 if you don't mind investing time learning the tools. On1 has more precise masking and greater dynamic range in its RAW local adjustments. It has a more powerful feature set over all but more complicated. If you do JPEG and want a quick and easy edit go with Luminar Neo, its much simpler but has much less features (like local adjustments has no edge detection). Both are very good though.
