Man, I would really love to upgrade from my M1 11’ IPad Pro, but I just can’t justify the cost since this one is working perfectly. I will live vicariously through you!
I just caved in and upgraded mine - increased from 256 to 512 whilst I was at it!
@@phil5743 What color did you get?
Ironically. The previous iPad Pro is already thinner than the previous Apple Pencil. I literally just checked on mine lol.
Yep. Not sure why this point keeps getting repeated 🙄
Same here - not that big of a deal. But I am interested in how the weight feels when I get mine tomorrow.
That escape key on the new magic keyboard is the best feature of all the new features.
He is a big Apple fanboy. Nothing wrong with being excited score a superior product
Can’t wait for mine! Got the 11 inch
First iPad Pro M4 unboxing video Chris!! Congratulations!
This is such an accomplishment for mankind. I will write this down in a journal, for my future offspring to read about this historic achievement. Thank you for letting us know
Great review, Chris! Can’t wait for mine to arrive on Wednesday. Does the laptop fall over backwards on your lap as easily as the last one? Seems like it doesn’t.
These upgrades sound fine, but a 1 tb iPad is 2300 with pencil and keyboard. It’s more than the MacBook Air. I’ve always thought of the iPad as a $1k convenience device for personal use. A $2300 price tag, it needs to replace my laptop.
I agree. iPads have become way too expensive
Cannot wait to receive mine. I literally bought and upgraded from iPad Pro 11inch 2nd gen to iPad Pro 13inch. This will be incredible to showcase my personal photography work images and 4K video content. I am glad going to be lighter with combination of new Magic Keyboard. Great insight reaction video on here!!
I’d have to check with colour accuracy, might upgrade if it’s better at all.
Chris Great Video... Can you provide a link or where you got the 4K video that you show on the iPad? Thanks
Hey Chris, I’ve been waiting for the new iPad just as long as you. In the mean time, Ive really enjoyed all your content and updates over the past couple of months. The only “unanswered” question I have, and no1 has really covered it. In depth comparison between Paperlike and the nano screen. Questions would obviously be cost, durability, clarity, maintenance, etc. I ordered both Ruth after the event, after sleeping on it, canceled the nano, and plan on doing paperlike. Love the channel man, keep it up.
Paperlike is king
The mic sounds pretty good! And Have you mention which iPad Pro configuration you were planning on upgrading to?
@dailytekk - how does the sounds compare to the previous iPad Pro? I really like how rich the sounds is on my pro and am worried the thinness of the new one will compromise sound quality.
I have just been using my new M4 11” iPad outdoors (in UK sunshine 13:00 - so sun almost overhead) and at last I can watch TH-cam and browse outdoors thanks to the extra bright screen. I’m not sure if the WiFi has changed much since my. Previous M1 iPad but the WiFi signal also seems to be much stronger. The iPad combined with the Magic Keyboard is also noticeably if only slightly lighter. If you want to use your device outside, I would definately recommend the newer device for that alone.
Hi hope you can help I’m looking for the magnetic case you recommended but can’t find it on Amazon can you send full link please
Oh yes great channel thanks
I would love to see a serious review/comparison between the new M4 13” and the original M1 12.9”. I’m still using a Mini, which I love, but my eyes aren’t getting any younger and I find myself wanting to do split screen reading on one side and notes on the other, so a bigger screen would be great. But is it worth $1200+ to get the newest one?
the Main missing key feature for the ipad, is the Shell. The day Apple includes a full bash or shell, i would migrate completely to Ipad
Chris, not sure how much sound absorption you have but there was definitely some echo when using the ipad mics further away but it did sound quite good when close up. Just curious, what do you think about an ipad stand that could use the smart connectors? MagSafe would have also been nice, but with such a large battery, would probably take too long to charge.
Do you see a potential issue with the screen closing on the metal surface of the keyboard? I had a Microsoft laptop where the screen closed on the metal base and it had a known issue to crack the screens. The MacBooks on the other hand have that thin rubber border to pad the screen closing.
That black stripe around the keyboard is a rubber border, so hopefully that'll be sufficient
There’s a gasket around the keyboard to prevent this. Time will tell how long it holds up.
Great review, thanks
Where can I find this colorful wallpapaper?
i want a bigger battery!!
Absolutely, the most important thing for me
I’m with you, but I feel most folks travel with a portable battery. I would prefer thin, light and, fast charging.
11 inch iPad pro have 5% bigger battery…
Shut it really . All day is enough .. it’s not a phone
@@Just_a_random_birbyeah i noticed on the website the old one is 28.65wh (7538mah) and the new one is 31.29wh ( i assume 8250mah) I waiting for the battery tests asap
Can you use touch pad with portrait mode on esr case?
Hey Chris, are you going to put Paperlike on your new iPad Pro.
I tend to optimize for Apple Pencil usage
11" arriving tomorrow at Best Buy. Magic Keyboard coming from Apple.
I wish we could get the older iPads on the newer keyboards
I know what you meant, yes yes, OLED old technology good but not ground breaking and then Apple go and do this and surpass our expectations yet again. Absolutely love it!. A brilliant part of being an apple fan. We keep getting lovely surprises like this
I’m excited!🎉
I wonder that since the new ipad is thinner the bass is reduced, actually I prefer this if the sound is still crisp
How heavy is the 13 + keyboard vs the old 12.9+keyboard?
I believe it is ≈ 31 grams lighter
Honestly though, what can this do that my 2020 A12z chip can’t? My use cases would be the exact same. Love the screen, love the size, love the function row….. buuuuuuuuuut worth the money? Eh
What does your 2020 a12z do an air can’t just do on its own? Sounds like you wasted money.
I can apply the reverse questions to all these people asking “why should i upgrade”
What can a MacBook Pro do that a MacBook Air cannot do?
@@ghas4151 render/export way faster 😂 Why is my comment getting hate? Trolls be trolling.
@@brandonsargent7105You obviously didn’t do your homework and know nothing about this tech! There’s are a lot of differences that power users can use. Google is your friend.
Play RE:Village!
I wanted it thinner. Glad it’s like that.
So should I buy an iPad Air 13 or look for a last generation iPas Pro 12.9?
The new iPad Air works with the pencil pro so get the air !!
Decided to get the iPad Air. Did not want the cost of the difference to the Pro plus another keyboard.and pencil. I certainly do not need the Pro to do the kind of work I do. Still this is the first time I have not gone for the Pro. We will see what flying coach feels like this time around.
Lmao him setting it on his lap for half a second and then saying “he loves it” was the most ridiculous thing ever. Like you didn’t even try typing with it on your lap and barely sat it on your lap before you said you loved it
Can't imagine it doesn't work OK in lap. I use my 2021 M1 12.9 Pro with Magic Keyboard case in my lap all the time--in fact, about only way I use it. Been a long time since I worked with it at my desk. I will say, it can be a bit top heavy if you aren't used to it but I've used it with this Pro for a long time--my preference is to work in my lap as with laptops also. I haven't found a keyboard case that works as well in lap--I still have a 2018 12.9 Pro (battery issues which is why I replaced it) and its good in lap with Zugu case but then of course you don't have the keyboard, only screen keyboard.
@@picnicphoto lol I have an iPad Air 4 I use with magic keyboard I was just saying how it is comical to see him barely try something and say “I love it”
@@shinbonesjones11 Got it 😊
Hey Chris - It looks like the new iPad Pro m4 you reviewed used 9% battery in about 36 minutes from 11AM to 11:36AM. And that was without any heavy uasage.. True? That would bring the battery life to approx 6.5 hours - without actually putting the iPad to any heavy workload at all. My experience is around 2.5 - 3 hours of battery life on my M1 Pro iPad while working - which is not that great. Is that your experience as well? Because that’s the parts I wondered about in your “IPad only setup for work video” a while back (no charger even). And if the battery life hasn’t improved at all from M1, then it really is a short work experience… Don’t get med wrong - I like my iPad. But… that batterylife…
I get alot more hours out of mine . Strange you get so little. One thing to note is OLED is much better on battery
Yeah… How long is your battery life? I took it all the way I could with Apple support. Their answer was: “That’s within expectations”. Only thing that works a little, is lowering screen brightness.
Great vid. I enjoyed your immediate impressions, insights and genuine enthusiasm. Thats why youre my fav Apple tech tuber
Picking up my 13" 2024 iPad Pro from local Apple Store later this morning.
Can someone provide a link for a free, short (+/- 5 mins), best quality video that I can download to my new iPad Pro to best show off the screen to make all my friends jealous (even if I'm going to be very annoying for a couple of days🤣).
Previous iPad was also thinner than Apple Pencil. Nothing new here
After this Mac’s should also jump to Oled!
Thinner than the Pencil seems like a problem. I assume it means you can no longer lay the iPad flat on a table without the pencil coming off. Is the thinness also a problem when the iPad is put in the thin case - meaning can you lay an iPad flat on a table, with the thin case and pencil on without the pencil being pushed off?
My 4th Gen iPad Pro (2020) is also thinner than the Apple Pencil.
it's always clearer, better, more surreal, more this, more that,. till the next one.
I have watched your reviews/information and find you very honest in your analysis. I appreciate your description of the display. Just my opinion, Apple is not going to make MACs with Mac OS a touch device. Apple is not going to make I Pad a non touch device with MAC OS….They are two different devices, each with its own unique operations. I feel most of the haters with negative comments are looking for a MAC I Pad Pro. Why would Apple create a device that would take away from MAC sales? I use my I PAD PRO 90% of the time.
I have both. A Mac and an I Pad. I hope for these seeking to make a Mac out of an I Pad gets their wish…..I do not see that ever Happening. I have the 13 inch I Pad Pro on order and expect it to be an I Pad, a touch device. And expect it to be nothing else.
I will continue to watch your reviews, you are spot on. Thanks
Will they ever fix those big ole black bars!
Dude have you never seen an oled tv ?
Will you be getting one with the nano-texture screen? I’m waiting to order until I see a review.
Hopefully…
@@Dailytekkyes. We skipped the nano texture on the new pro order out of fear it was easily damaged.
I Justine has a comparison between the regular and nano texture display side by side
Phenomenal hardware. Unreal where technology is going and all to the good. With that said, without serious new iPadOS features, it's a bit harder to demonstrate the user-value from the new iPads apart from sheer hardware quality. I really hope Apple pull out the stops and deliver at WWDC on iPadOS features, finally and not just AI which will at least be a big new feature.
The pencil was always thinner than the ipad pro, it is just even more thinner now
Where is the 4k screen?
is the trackpad on the new keyboard quieter than the old one CLICK CLICK CLICK - almost worth the upgrade just to make that stop
I think the new screen outshines the M4 chip (pun intended).
Man is it any TH-camr with the iPad Pro M4 11in crazy 🤣 someone out there dares to be different. On to the next
I’m watching all these new iPad reviews today and I appreciate a review from an actual iPad user. With other channels I could tell they’re not iPad users. They’re not one of us lol.
Although this review almost seems too „positive“ like it’s paid in a way quite a few how his videos feel like that lately :/
We all realize the iPad Pro was thinner than the Apple Pencil on previous models, too, right?
Why is no one mentioning the best part of the new Magic Keyboard - the ESC button!
Disappointed iPad Pro
That should include:
- Mag Safe
- Weather Sealed
- 3 Camera Lenses
- Pencil 3 with Eraser feature
- M Pro/Ultra Chip
- Extended Battery Life
- Thicker Design
Yeah…not playing it up at all…🤣
I’m confused my iPad Pro M1 is thinner than the Apple Pencil though? 😂
my iPad Pro 2018 is also thinner than the Apple Pencil
Did you purchase all the products( iPad Air & iPad Pro and all accessories) yourself or did Apple send them to you? First Step to have unbiased reviews, buy them yourself!
It's like you've never seen an OLED screen before - OH, LOOK AT THE BLACKS, THEY'RE SOOO BLACK 🤣
Is the term “Pro” marketing or is it the intended use? For those who would pay upwards over $3,000 for a Pro, some would also have internet service beyond 1Gbps. I would think someone with 5 or even 10Gbps service is asking themselves…and Apple, “Where’s WiFi7?”
The thinness hype will disappear after 1 day, then it will live in its keyboard case forever 😂
I still have my 12.9” M1 iPad Pro with 16GB memory, and it works perfectly fine.
I use a paper and pen. For my internet, I have dial up. It takes awhile but I have time 😊
You’re good my fiend as long as you’re on Apple Silicon M series. No rush your device is still golden. I have M2 and I love the new iPads Pro and I’m a power user who knows how to milk every drop of power and features and don’t cry for Mac OS while I don’t know how to use the device. But I won’t upgrade and spend a lot replacing my Apple Pencil, keyboard and all other accessories yet. Apart of money, I don’t want to support Apple now with the greedy approach, removing a mic ultra wide camera, forcing new pencil and keyboard while increasing the price 200!
And deceiving advertisement as the base come with only 9 core CPU and only upgrading to the 1TB brings you the full power they showed in the presentation. I’m all into Apple but I hate deceiving marketing.
Your device in many aspects is better than the new one. I’d say hold on to it until next release or until you get a good deal. Besides, you have 16GB RAM, this alone with 120Hz is enough to make you future proof.
@@Denchanter
I’m going to upgrade to dial up, at the moment I’m using semaphore and for long distance pony express.
@@Denchanterthought about upgrading to dail up…but my cups and string still seem to be holding up strong!
I just don’t see the need for a keyboard for anyone who has a laptop
Hasn’t the iPads always been thinner than Apple Pencil like always.
Please do battery life test. Compare battery to previous iPad Pro!!!!
I have the 12.9 M1 and it's boring so I'll skip on this.... It just doesn't make me wanna invest my time in it.... m4 would'nt change anything
So everyone else who has reviewed this and said the OLED screen is very hard to Notice the difference on. Yup You’re cheerleading on hoping to get more samples from Apple by being a good boy.
Q: How is easy to hit the function row?
Super
Jesus you’re the male iJustine ….oMG u guuyyyyzzzz its amazeeeeballllzzz
My 2018 iPad Pro bent, so I wasn't about to get an even thinner iPad. I'm kind of disappointed I had to get the air. I was really looking forward to oled. Had it not been thinner, I would have gotten the pro.
But - it costs so very much !
iPad fanboy over here lol
New this…new that let’s be honest doesn’t matter what they change on the hardware side…IPadOS is what is holding it back and making most people close their pockets
Exactly. They can't make the iPad too productive, it will eat into Macbook sales.
ProLED. Let’s hope that catches on.
But this is just a faster iPad until WWDC
Respectfully but your review is way too positive. Feels a bit fake.
Agree. Lately it feels his videos are big ads unfortunately! Used to love them
Agreed.
Most of these Apple product reviewers are paid by Apple with products. Plus, they get invites to the next Apple event.
He has been mostly genuine. I believe he is actually jazzed by the device.
He’s super fake! I’ve been going to Brian Tong and Marques Brown for the real reviews. They are definitely more authentic reviews and down to earth
lol... crazy people😀 Maybe you need better glasses for real life🤣
🎉🎉🎉
Solid practical review!
Chris, where has your polish gone for your videos lately? I know you love Apple stuff dude but f me, you’re really over doing it lately. I’ve been a subscriber for a while and you’ve not irritated me until now. Dial it back a little.
I am confused I see my current iPad Pro 11" 2nd gen is already thinner than the Apple pencil. Yes, the new iPad is more thinner.
My iPad Pro gen 1 is already thinner than the Apple Pencil lol
Cool screen but I’d prefer a MacBook given the thickness of the iPad with the keyboard (plus macOS > iPadOS).
"Yeah but iPadOS is still limiting, plz bring the macOS to the iPad!!"
Some Tailosive Tech viewers and some techies in general, circa 2024.
As if they know how to use the device beyond emails, word, streaming TV and gaming!
It’s a power house if they know how to use it. People just complain and TH-camrs know nothing about tech and have nothing to add so they created this wave misleading people.
Most people don’t need the Pro. The pro is for the pro with power workflow and know exactly how to use such a great device.
You're acting like you've never seen an OLED screen before
To be fair, this is tandem OLED.
No joke. Lol. Most people are probably watching this on an oled screen.

Surreal is that 4:3 aspect ratio 😂come on what a joke
Galaxy stab 9 ultra way better
🤣🤣 it’s just a tablet man.
You're usually good at these videos. But this one aint it.
Very lackluster new iPads. Was expecting and hoping for more innovation. So they moved the front-facing camera…yay. Made it thinner which degrades the sound quality…👎🏾 Made it faster and more powerful primarily for video creators…good for that group. The thing we really want is for them to significantly lower their prices!!! It’s ridiculous.
Out of curiosity what would stop you from just using an iPad Air?
@@markvergara Going from a Pro to an Air you loose face ID.
So to you more innovation = price cut, got it.
