    I m from Canada, and we don't have this kind of gear here. it looks like this. We have Alu-Cab dealers in Canada and in the USA, some cie do canopy like yours but not great like this one. In Australia or South Africa the off road gear are Amazing... in Canada or USA is more oriented for offroad use thand for Overlanding use, but Overlanding growing since few years... so I hope we gonna start to have gear like yours... you have a great truck .... and Bush Company are great cie to....
    G'Day MATE 👍👍👍👍

    That’s real nice mate, 13k would get you a deluxe canopy with nothing in and no tray from other places. This looks like the right mix of economy/features for me.

      Agreed, the value versus quality argument is always there. I’ve bought 3 canopies from MW now and of course they’re not the premium top end ones, but for probably 1/2 the price, I can put up with small imperfections.
      Thanks for watching mate!

    Hi Mate , awesome set up😍 , very interesting video Really like it I'm look into this entire package my self . Can I ask how much you spent, complete bill everything all up ??

    • @MudModsBeers
      @MudModsBeers  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the comment mate, really appreciate it. The complete total is fairly hard to come too. I know that the chassis mount canopy fitted from MW was around $13,500 from memory including water tank. This was a few years ago, I'm not entirely sure what I had already from the last build to fit into the new canopy.

      @@MudModsBeers Thanks for the response mate , I apologise I meant how much did the entire package cost you truck , everything!? May I ask ??
      Once again I'm looking at this kinda set up , I live in Melbourne and would love to go away camping on weekends .
      I'm looking at either Hilux or Isuzu at the moment. Many different overland vehicle channels on you tube , I'm very curious to know how much the entire package - truck - bar work- tent - water system - any upgrades - mods - you've made
      What kind of money am I looking at ? I know obviously depending on what equipment is fitted . Would you say 110k would cover absolutely everything? - brand new truck- suspension upgrade - canopy fitted out- tent - bar work etc ...??
      ( Apologies for a drawn out question) 🙏 Thank you

      Hey mate, was running a 2 inch GVM upgrade OME kit from ARB, from memory they were 500kg constant leaf pack.
      I've sold the Hilux now, but it went really well with this setup, rode level, no airbags, nice ride.
      Thanks for watching!

      Hey mate, yes absolutely still happy with MW, in fact have bought another custom one for the 79. The custom ones are manufactured in QLD, think the off the shelf ones are made in China. Ando bought one of the off the shelf ones, for the money they are ok, the custom ones are a fair bit better quality though I think

  • @AshleyHorne1

    Good little video mate,
    I brought a custom MW canopy while back and I wasn’t happy with it as some of the welds were questionable so I ended up selling it and now I’m the process of getting a new one built through a local fab shop.
    Question, do you know your GVM now, I plan on buying a bush company tent as well but even with a bullbar and ally tray with 60l water tank on 35s I’m sitting at 2.8t

      @MudModsBeers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ashley, thanks for the comment mate, really appreciate it.
      As far as the GVM goes, I got a pre rego GVM upgrade at ARB, think that takes it up to 3465kg. In all honesty I haven't run it over a weigh bridge yet, have been meaning to for the longest time. My best guess was that I'm about 3000-3200kg fully loaded. I must go and weigh it soon though.

    hey mate cheers for the rundown. I'm getting an mw soon, how did you mount your rooftop tent to the canopy?

    • @MudModsBeers
      @MudModsBeers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching mate! The RTT was just mounted on 3 tracks that MW had installed on the top, sort of like roof racks,

  • @A-Trip-Away
    @A-Trip-Away ปีที่แล้ว

    Just ordered the chassis-mounted canopy from MW as well. How do you find the heat with a black canopy?

    • @MudModsBeers
      @MudModsBeers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s certainly a bit hotter than the white one we have on the 79, however, with the roof top tent on the top of it, it creates a bit of insulation and does keep it a bit cooler.
      I certainly didn’t have any dramas with the heat, however was thinking of putting a bit of insulation in and maybe a vent or two. All in all it was fine.
      Thanks for watching!

    How did you secure your floor to the canopy? If there is a floor (i mean the wood covered in carpet), or did you secure your slides and drawers to the canopy floor itself?

    • @MudModsBeers
      @MudModsBeers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Callin,
      Thanks for the comment!
      Ok, yes we did put a false floor
      In. From memory it was around 90mm from
      The floor to the lip of the canopy. We used box section aluminium from Bunnings, it was around 60mm, glued it to the bottom of the canopy in 4 lengths across. Then added marine ply on top and finished it with marine carpet. Got to within a few mm of the lip height.
      That then gave us a platform to screw all the drawers, fridges etc down to.
      Let me know if you need anything else.
      Thanks
      Richard

    hey mate,
    what size fridge is that and what fridge cage have you used?

    • @MudModsBeers
      @MudModsBeers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate, thanks for watching!
      It's a 85l fridge and just a bit of plywood and marine carpet as the surround. I didn't put a lid on it so its open at the top for ventilation, haven't had any problems so far. I tek screwed a bit of angle on both sides and the back of it to bolt down into the floor. Seems to be working OK so far.

    • @MudModsBeers
      @MudModsBeers  ปีที่แล้ว

      sorry, can't add a video to the comments, its got 3 cross uni strut channels running across the canopy, then the RTT just bolts on to the channel much like a roof rack fixing would. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

    • @MudModsBeers
      @MudModsBeers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sunny,
      Yes $13k for the unit, not a seperate tray and canopy, it was all one piece. Couldn’t remove the canopy. It was a great setup. I’ve just ordered a custom canopy from them for the Cruiser, can’t go past them for value.
