Hi Heather! I’m glad you made this video. After watching it I bought them with the Peri Peri. Sardines looked pretty much like the plain olive oil one you opened, 3 in a can, with a not too spicy pepper in it. Just a tad on the dry side but had a nice flavor. I made a toasted sandwich with two of them (just mayo and sardines) which was very yummy and just ate the last one to get the complete taste of it by itself. At $24.99 for a 6-pk $4.16 each I might buy again down the road when I haven’t had them for a while. I’m anxious to get your take on them.

Yup, them’s scales. As to the olive oil, I don’t think the oil itself is watery. Rather, in the preparation some companies let watery fish, rinsed in the process, get canned, others more thoroughly dry, so you end up with a watery oil mix in cheaper cans-not all, but more often.

Santo Amaro may / may not be better than Santa Bremor, like I had today. Did Santo Amaro say 'Dolphin Safe' Tuna along with the 🐬s included 🤔 ?? So, that's why its $ 5- a can 😅 ! The manufacturer would simply say, 'We think it's pure.' Had Santa Bremor with their 'matjes herring' today. It had an excess, odd oil I had to wash off. 'Lightly salted' to them means 57 % with 3 pieces equalling
    6 servings (?).

Not scales. I encountered the same thing today... it seemed like the skin has a thin shellac like they sometimes used to put on apples. Is this normal? It was a very delicate layer and I was able to carefully slide off sizeable pieces with my fork. I was at work and couldn't get a good close up of the stuff. After that it's regional and vineyard and varietal stock. There used to be a borrower Olive oil store in Grand Central Terminal that had oils from Italy, France, Spain and Portugal. I loved the Olive Oil from Portugal because it's base flavor was butter and a hint of black pepper. If was one of those Olive oils you just sprinkled some salt on the surface, and took a fresh load of bread, ripping off bits of bread and dipping it in the oil.... I find it sad that today's world, they just use the cheapest oil they can find to make food with, it makes me sad.
