Excellent demonstration. Clear, concise and unhurried. Great to have a video like this with no annoying background music! Thank you and keep up the good work 😀
I am so impressed with this video and I second everything that Pauline Wild says. The cupcake case tip is brilliant. I am off to order one from you right now.
I love it. From roses, I would love to try on peonies after watching your video. I've seen peonies of different colors last spring when I was in Oregon. And knowing that I could have them on my cakes is a bliss.😊
When you say you are using icing, are you using fondant? and does it dry hard? I find usually using fondant for flowers they are susceptible to humidity, rain and cold and the flowers wilt.
Great video n so helpful very specific n detailed on how to make them every other video I have seen has not helped me n they always come out looking not so pretty so I have up but now I can actually try again thanks to u ☺️, by any chance do u have a video of how to make the rose one or is it the same way as these ???
Hello Alexa! Our peony cutter set contains two different sized cutters, and the petals are different shapes so they look more realistic. The rose cutter set contains just one cutter. Hope this helps! :)
No, it won't unfortunately because it's too soft and won't hold the shape. We recommend using 50:50 findant mixed with modelling paste. You can buy it here: www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/products/Sattina-Perfect-Paste.htm
Hi there, we would recommend using a modelling paste to make the peonies as fondant and sugarpaste is too soft, whereas modelling paste allows the peonies to set firm. We used Sattina 3-in-1 which you can buy from our website here - www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/products/White-Sattina-3-in-1-Modelling-Paste.htm
I need some help! 1. How long do you leave the sugar paste petals after cutting them? 2. My petals were cracking and breaking when I was using my roller to shape and 'Pull in' the petals - what I am doing wrong? This is as far as I got (after trying and trying with the petals and each time cracking I gave up :() so I may need more help with the later steps! TH-cam always makes it look so easy!! Please tell me someone else wasn't just able to copy this perfectly and make me feel a bit better about myself!
Hi there! I think what you're doing wrong is using the wrong paste! Sugarpaste doesn't work for flowers in general, we recommend using 50:50, which you can buy here: www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/products/Sattina-Perfect-Paste.htm As soon as you've cut the petals, start making the shape, before the paste sets. Good luck!
We recommend storing it in a cardboard box at room temperature, away moisture. This way they will last a couple of months. However, the longer you leave them, the harder they will get. Hope that helps :)
Hi! Thanks for the tutorial, a question please for a large, medium peony ... how much can I ask for forgiveness for the question is that I want to start thank you very much.
Hi, the icing used in the video demonstration is a firm modelling paste that will set hard. Here is the link to the product - www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/products/Sattina-3-in-1-White-Modelling-Paste.htm You cannot use fondant or sugar paste, as it is too soft and will never hold the shape that you want to achieve. Thank you

Thanks for your comment. The product we used to make these flowers wasn't sugarpaste, but 50:50 sugarpaste/modelling paste (or as we call it, perfect paste), which works differently to sugarpaste. Also, cornflower doesn't ferment sugarpaste. It may dry it out over time if you use too much (our sugarpaste only requires a couple of dabs!) But it shouldn't ferment it. Marzipan, however, WILL ferment if it comes into contact with cornflour, so cornflour definitely needs to be avoided around marzipan. You can find out more about our perfect paste here: www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/products/Sattina-Perfect-Paste.htm Thanks again and have a great day :)
Yes, thanks. I do know the difference and sadly we will differ on the sugarpaste use of cornflour. Having worked with sugarpaste for many many years, and having taught sugarcraft for over 25 years, I fully understand the difference. I have probably made more cakes than you have had hot dinners! ;-) So we would be best to just agree to disagree. Also 50:50 is known as Mexican Paste...….
Just wow. The simplest and easiest way to make a peony flower. I have been looking for this for so.long. thanks a lot

Hello, what is the difference between a rose cutter and a carnation or peony stinger?
Hello Alexa! Our peony cutter set contains two different sized cutters, and the petals are different shapes so they look more realistic. The rose cutter set contains just one cutter. Hope this helps! :)

Actually using cornflour is not the best thing when using sugarpaste as it encourages the sugarpaste to ferment over time.
