Not all economically inactive people are sitting around doing nothing. Lots volunteer and do unpaid work.
The ones supporting themselves via pensions, savings, investments etc... are not doing any harm to the economy.

@@vincentblack7467there are some nursing apprenticeships out there. Most nurses go to University for 3 years, and then usually have a 4th, placement, year where they're a junior nurse earning 24k per year. 24k now where rents are over 10k per annum, energy is 4 - 5k many households. Council. Tax 2k. I haven't even added food, water, or transport into that.
The 24k is before tax, in case that wasn't painfully obvious.

Whenever you ask anyone how many migrants do we need, most sensible people can’t answer it. Because the truth is, we have a large labour shortage, thanks to Brexit and 14 years of wage stagnation. So we either need foreigners to fill in the labour gap, or British citizens will need to hold their nose, work for peanuts and do the jobs no one wants to do or is qualified to do.

    ~Labour's big weaknesses are
1- All know Labour are very pro-immigration
2-Labour was found guilty of racism to Jews by UKHRE Court & then selected Haters of Jews to be MP's. (E.g. Azar Ali of Rochdale).
My mixed extended family of white & indian heritage's are decades long Lobour voters, but we will all stay home & not vote. (All 40 of us)
As in 1939 Nazi, bad MP's always come for the Jews first,
then the white working class &
    then the brown Hindu's/Sikhs/Buddhists.
Millions of non-muslim voters are very worried about the very high number of Jew hating MP's in Labour who back Hamaz.
We Really enjoyed your coverage & the Profs were amazing analysts.

Purkiss is insufferable. So she'd rather have an immigrant carer look after a family member than a British person who was made to take a job as a carer because they would be more caring. Doesn't she know immigrants take care work simply because it gives them an opportunity to live in the UK? And as far as what levels of migration we should have, why doesn't Jeremy Vine point out we have a housing crisis, and that's a good enough reason to limit migration levels, but then maybe he doesn't want to shut down the debate and likes listening to the ridiculous arguments put forward by "I like the sound of my own voice" Purkiss.
