- The Prime Minister has been urged to speak out after MP Lee Anderson was suspended for refusing to apologise for his comments where he claimed “Islamists” had “got control” of the Mayor of London.

Subjecting the British people to austerity for 14 years , whilst filling the pockets of their cronies says the tories are the nasty party !!!
They didn't line the pockets of their cronies for all 14 years though.
During covid and the hunt for PPE the procurement rules were laid aside. The normal 6 weeks for such were bypassed. Everyman and his dog was screaming out for immediate action in particular Labour. It may interest you to know that of the 50 contracts given to provide PPE only 19 of those were given to any of those that had any links to the Tories and most of them were tenuous at best. Yes there were those who took advantage like Baroness Mone but not all of those who did so, were what you euphemistically call Tory cronies.
As for austerity that lasted until Boris took over in 2019. Which I agree probably went on too long. That said, let's not forget why those measures were put in place, it was because of the financial mess that was left by the outgoing Administration which had lasted for 13 years.
Also let's not forget that it was the Labour Home Secretary John Reid who first introduced the zero tolerance policy towards illegal immigrants. A mantle that Theresa May in the same role adopted. But have a guess who was castigated for that policy?
Then let's remember the party that took us into 2 wars one of which was illegal based on a sexed up dossier by Tony Blair and his cronies.
It was also the 'not so nasty' Labour Party that started practice of putting part of the NHS into private hands.
Also who introduced tuition fees.
In short the Tories are no more nastier than the Labour Party.

Why do people think people who live in council homes dont pay full rent, dont work and dont look after the house!!! We have paid more rent over the years than the house is worth, and we still dont own it. Tories are struggling with the less well educated in the party saying the quite part out loud. The Tories have always been happy to court the votes from the most extreme right to remain in power while ensuring the issues that created them remain part of Tory policy. We sell arms to extremists that create hordes of displaced refugees but are happy to label refugees as cultural terrorists and extremists. The free market flagship by nature creates more poverty than wealth but the poor seem to always be the enemy or weaponised to attack refugees while of course doing nothing to address growing poverty. The entire nature of the Tory party is nasty, it’s just a matter of if they have the mask on or off.

I hate Lee Anderson, but i dont not think his comment was any worse than what most MPs say about Gazans. The Gazan people are paying for HAMAS actions and our MPs talk of Islamic Jihad and do nothing to protect the civillian population in Gaza at all, (effectively collective punishment).

Lee Anderson referred to islamists, a term frequently used in Parliament to mean extremists, and how does Lee's take on that differ? Saying Starmer is controlled by islamists is laughable since muslims are leaving labour in droves, but Starmer pressured Hoyle and Hoyle said credible threats to MPs and Jenrick stood up the next day and used the term islamists.

Wilfred is right to question whether what Anderson said was racist. Anderson also attacked Starmer along with Khan so it was nothing to do with racism or Islamophobia. Marina Purkiss is an intellectual light weight and could be labelled 'nasty' herself, not least because of her condescending attitude towards the thoughtful and measured Wilfred. Just too full of herself, virtually takes over the programme with her rehearsed and hollow comments.
